Nigerian pop star, Timaya has revealed he’s been passing through some challenges lately.
The Bayelsa singer revealed this on his Instagram page.
Timaya emphasized that he has been through a lot even though he cannot share details to the public because he’s not the type of man that shares his challenges.
Sharing a video of himself singing on Instagram, he wrote, “Been through a lot and back.
“I’m not a man dat spill shit out, but GOD is good.”
Timaya started his music career in 2005 and has since then released hits such as ‘Dem Mama’, plantain Boy, etc.
The 40-year-old singer who has joined the trend of baby mamas recently celebrated his daughter’s one year birthday with his third baby mama.
The singer already has three children from two previous relationships.
In an interview, the ‘Balance’ crooner said as a baby daddy he is better than many husbands.
“People fail to understand that a lot of baby daddies are better fathers than a lot of husbands. The kind of role I play in my children’s life, I don’t think some husbands do that.
“I have time for my children, I love my children but some married men don’t even have time for their kids. They don’t show their kids love, they don’t know what it means to be a father. It doesn’t have anything to do with money; it’s about love and attention.
“Even my daughter sometimes wonders why I make babies if I was not ready to get married yet but I tell her that if I don’t make babies then she won’t be born.
“My life is in stages, I don’t think I want to get married now. It is not something I would want to venture into for now,” he said.
Veteran rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem has called dancehall singer, Timaya an “ingrate’ in what appears to be a reigniting of his age-long rift with the singer.
TheNewsGuru recalls that the duo’s feud started in 2017 when Abdulkareem, in an interview, described the ‘Gra Gra’ crooner as an “ingrate”, saying he won’t have been successful if not for his support
Timaya however fired back at the time, saying Eedris used his services without paying him in return.
“I tried so hard to resist responding to an empty barrel..But I am sick and tired of all these misconceptions… Sometimes you just need to tell people the hard truth. F**k you Eedris Abdulkareem,” he had said.
“I was your backup artist and you did not appreciate me. You regarded me like a nobody, I paid my transport to your shows because I was learning. You have never paid me one day. You disregard people, how many people don blow through you”.
“Where are all the people that were with you before? You come on social media, where the f**k are you? Don’t blame people, Go and work. Dirty looking Igbo smoker.”
However, four years after their initial clash, Abdulkareem shared screenshots of some fans who also called out Timaya on his Instagram page. Eedris also accompanied the screenshotted comments with a brief note wherein he urged people to simply ignore the ‘Gratitude’ singer.
“An ingrate is an ingrate ignore him,” he wrote.
As at the time of filing this report, Timaya had not reacted to Eedris’ statement.
Self-proclaimed Papi Chulo, Timaya on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, astonished his fans when he announced that he welcomed a daughter six months ago with another lady.
Although very secretive, Timaya is known to have three kids from two women. His ex-girlfriend Barbara Nwokolo and Tamar, an interior decorator.
So many were amazed when the singer introduced his baby and her mother.
“Y’all meet my daughter MAYA. She 6 months old,” Timaya said and then mentioned Dunnie Onasanya, as the mother of the baby.
Generally known as Dunnie O, or Dunnie, Onasanya is a first-generation Nigerian American.
Dunnie is a visual studio artist, muralist and event producer with a lot of following on Instagram. She graduated with distinction from the prestigious Tuskegee University where she obtained a dual degree in the areas of Business Administration and Sales/Marketing.
She currently works at the VisArts Center, Rockville in the United States of America as an instructor and has been featured in several international festivals around the world.
Onasanya was previously married to Ibrahim Hassan, a video director. The former couple met in 2011. Hassan popped the question in 2014 before their wedding in Beverly Hills, California back in 2015.
They, however, went their separate ways after a divorce in 2018. The couple finalised the divorce at the jurisdiction of Los Angeles County Superior Courts in Los Angeles, California.
Dunnie and her ex-husband have a five-old daughter together.

Most recently she performed a live painting demonstration of cultural masks at the Umu Igbo Unite Nigerian Cultural Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. Nigerian dancehall singer, Timaya has been keeping his beard for a while now and it has become one of his brand identity.The singer rocked dreadlocks for some time before ditching the hairstyle.
In a chat with Punch, Timaya noted that he shaved off his dreadlocks for a reason but he would not shave off his beard for any reason, except if he was offered $100m (about N36bn).
The dancehall singer said, “Maybe $100m would make me shave off my beard. Other than that, I won’t shave it off until I feel like it’s time. I have been keeping the beard for about five years.
“When I cut the dreadlocks some years back, I felt it was necessary at the time. It represented where my mind was at, at that time. It’s also rather important to keep reinventing (yourself), to stay relevant.”
Speaking further, Timaya revealed how he balances fatherhood and being a sought after singer.
He said, “My children mean the world to me so making out time to be with them, teaching them and watching them grow, is a priority for me. I don’t joke with that. My happiest days on earth would be the birthdays of all my children.”
Nigerian dancehall singer, Enitimi Alfred Odom, better known as Timaya has showered praises on his senior colleague, 2face Idibia.
The 39-year-old singer noted that the African Queen crooner advised him on how to spend his money.
He made this statement while addressing the audience at Trace Live, which Idibia headlined on Thursday, February 21.
Timaya said 2Baba has always being a source of inspiration in the industry.
“Tuface has always been and is still my role model..When I succeeded as Timaya, I used to hang out with him. Anytime I buy new cars, I would want to get a ride with him to show off in front of him.
“One day he called me and advised me on the way I spend too much money on exotic cars. He told not to waste my fortune but to invest it and plan my life.”
Timaya recently released his first extended playlist (EP) in five years.The EP, titled ‘Chulo Vibes’ is a nine-track body of work.
‘Balance’, the first track on the EP had been released a week earlier before the EP that was released on Friday.
‘Chulo Vibes’ EP is Timaya’s first body of work in 5 years and his 7th studio project despite releasing singles and collaborating with other artistes.

From slamming Juliet Ibrahim on Instagram, to faking her engagement, the actress who gained prominence through the flick ‘Omoge Lekki’ was in the news mostly for the wrong reasons.
Nkechi was rumoured to have been engaged to a movie director, Tolulope Elijah Rotimi. In an Instagram post, the director had jokingly proposed to Nkechi during the shoot of a movie, ‘What I Hate About You’.

Davido
Self –proclaimed OBO , Davido has been embroiled in countless social media storms this year.
The singer’s supposed private jet had stirred controversy on social media following claims by some fans that his net worth could not buy him a private jet yet.
For some time, the pop-star basked in the euphoria of the frenzy the speculations created, until pictures of Davido’s father and his friends praying on the said private jet went viral. The ‘Assurance’ singer had no choice than to reveal the identity of the true owner of the private jet.
He wrote:”Lmao, all of you, what is mine is Imade’s and what is my father is mine.”
Bayelsa State-born music artiste, Timaya and actress Empress Njamah were talk of the town on account of the love they presumably had for each other. Then, Timaya and Empress were so smitten, it was as if they could do no wrong.
The harmony in their love song left and the love they once professed for each other could not be found.
At that time nine years ago, Timaya withdrew the car gift he gave Empress when they broke up.
In a new interview, Timaya has revealed why he withdrew the car gift from her.
“Before we broke up, she wanted me to get her a Murano…I gave her money to get [that] car. Then, a girl bought me a Honda Pilot for my birthday, just a fan. No string attached yet. I didn’t want it, but one of my boys was like, ‘it’s a gift’, and I was like, ‘ok.’[Empress] took the car and was driving it, but she didn’t know it was a gift. Then, we broke up.”
Famous Nigerian singer, Timaya has disclosed why he failed to sign Patoranking and Runtown to his “Dem Mama” record label despite giving them their first breaks in the music industry.
In an interview with Olisa Adibua and Maria Okanrende on Beat FM, the dancehall artiste said he did not understand the music business when Patoranking and Runtown were under his wings.
“I did not understand the business then,” Timaya said.
“I don’t want anybody to be like they are doing it because they are not in a good spot.
“Whatever I did for them, I did it like ‘okay, let’s go’.”
Timaya said he does not regret signing the pair, despite their respective successes in the past few years.
When asked if he could consider adding them to his record label, he said: “They are bosses already.”
The singer attributed his ability to make successful records to God, saying: “Nobody knows how to make hits.
“I don’t even know. I think it’s just God and secondly, when you work all the time, you have a lot of songs, you need the right people around you to tell you the right songs to put out so I don’t feed myself with bad energy.”
Harping on his relationship status, he said: “I have a baby mama and a serious relationship with my son’s mom.”
On his controversial stance on marriage, the singer said: “I’m not saying I don’t want to get married. I am not ready. Jesus Christ died at 35. He never got married.”
