Former Tottenham and Paris Saint Germain head coach, Mauricio Pochettino is in line to land Chelsea coaching job.

Talks between Pochettino and Chelsea’s management has reached an advanced stage and he could be signing the dotted lines any moment from now.

Should the Argentine land the job he would be joined by his four close confidants at Stamford Bridge.

According to The Times, Pochettino would be going to Stamford with his assistant and head of conditioning Jesus Perez, first-team coach Miguel D’Agostino, goalkeeper coach, Toni Jimenez and his son, Sebastiano, a sports scientist.

Perez, D’Agostino and Jimenez have been at the side of the Argentine for most of his managerial career.

They were with him at Southampton and Tottenham and followed him to Paris Saint-Germain in 2021.

The Argentine has emerged as favourite to become the new boss at Chelsea and is said to be in advanced talks with the club’s owners.

His deal to take over from Frank Lampard could be completed as early as this week

The 51-year-old has been without a job since his sack by PSG last year.

Tottenham players beg Pochettino to make a return to the club

Many Tottenham players have pleaded with former boss, Mauricio Pochettino to return to the club after being sacked few years ago.

The players are said to have been in contact with the Argentine over a possible return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Present coach Antonio Conte will be sacked anytime from now after his outburst where he knocked the club chiefs and his players following their 3-3 draw with Southampton in a Premier League on Saturday.

Pochettino has been strongly linked to replace the former Italy national team boss and Sky Sports claims that Tottenham top stars have already asked the Argentine to return and that the coach is keen.

It is suggested Pochettino will wait to assess all his options in the summer.

The 51-year-old Pochettino departed from Paris Saint-Germain eight months ago but has not found a suitable job.

Spurs also contacted him to return to the club during his PSG spell, but his contract with the French giants meant that he could not discuss it.

However, it now appears his long-awaited return to Tottenham could be finally on the cards.
