Manchester United hero David De Gea was seen taking part in a training session at an English non-league club.

The Spaniard has not played since he left the Red Devils at the end of last season.

De Gea, who won the Premier League Golden Glove that term, has been without a team all season.

The 33-year-old this week posted footage of himself playing with National League side Altrincham.

De Gea has been linked to clubs back in Spain, including La Liga side Real Betis.

He was rumored to be a Newcastle United target in the winter, but no deal materialized.

  • Neuer still absent as Bayern resume training

Neuer still absent as Bayern resume training

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was still missing due to injury as Bayern Munich returned to training after a 2-0 home defeat against Borussia Dortmund which ended their hopes for a 12th straight Bundesliga title.

Neuer, 38, suffered an adductor injury two weeks ago which made him miss Germany’s international friendly victories against France and the Netherlands, as well as Saturday’s game against Dortmund where Sven Ulreich deputised.

Bayern next visit mid-table Heidenheim in the league and on Tuesday next week will be at Arsenal for the Champions League quarter-final first leg match.

It remains unclear whether Neuer will be fit to play in Hoffenheim but Bayern definitely expect him back in London in a week’s time. Neuer trained individually last week.

Midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic and Raphael Guerreiro were back in team training on Tuesday from illness and injury, respectively.

The Dortmund defeat made Bayern slip 13 points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen with seven games left. The Champions League could now offer them the most realistic chance to avoid a first season since 2012 without a trophy.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino says the players will train on Christmas Day.

The Blues visit Wolves on Sunday before hosting Crystal Palace on December 27.

Pochettino said: “We are going to train on the 25th. We cannot stop as we have another game on the 27th.

“I am not going to complain but Palace played on Thursday against Brighton. We cannot stop because the players need to understand there’s a very short space for recovery.”

Pochettino added: “If all of us play 24th and all of us play 27th, then we are in the same circumstances.

“There’s a difference in recovery. I’m not going to complain but the organisation should be better because it’s not fair.”

  • Kolo Muani snubs Frankfurt training, seeks PSG transfer

Kolo Muani snubs Frankfurt training, seeks PSG transfer

France forward Randal Kolo Muani did not show up for Eintracht Frankfurt training on Wednesday as he appears set to force through a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

Frankfurt said that Kolo Muani missed training unauthoritised and would as a result not be part of the squad for Thursday’s Conference League match against Levski Sofia.

“We got to know Randal differently and we know his real character. There is a lot of pressure on him at the moment and this reaction is the result, which is wrong and which we have made clear to him and his environment,” Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche said.

Kolo Muani, 24, had his breakthrough last season and played at the World Cup where France lost the final against Argentina, which created interest from big European clubs.

He told Sky TV on Tuesday he had informed Frankfurt officials he wanted to leave for Ligue 1 champions PSG in the transfer window which ends on Friday.

“A transfer to Paris is a unique opportunity for me. I would like to move to Paris and have told this to club officials,” Kolo Muani said.

“I hope and wish that Frankfurt accept the offer from Paris and make this transfer possible for me.”

Kolo Muani has reportedly agreed personal terms with PSG on a five-year contract.

Frankfurt are said to have rejected a PSG offer worth €80 million ($87 million) for Kolo Muani who has a contract until 2027 without a release clause. Frankfurt reportedly want at least €100 million.

“I owe Frankfurt a lot. The fans are dear to me and I have always acted in a professional way. I have given my all for the club but it is no secret that Paris Saint-Germain have made a record offer for me,” Kolo Muani said.

Reports suggested that the interview may have not been authorised by Frankfurt.

The attacker could be able to earn a spot on the bench for the club’s next Premier League game.

The Gunners take on Fulham over the weekend, having won their first two league games of the season.

Jesus did go under the knife for the issue, but has made a faster recovery than expected.

  • What Niger Delta needs now is training, empowerment and jobs – NDDC online poll results

What Niger Delta needs now is training, empowerment and jobs – NDDC online poll results

Two online polls by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on LinkedIn and Twitter have revealed that most people want the NDDC to invest in training, empowerment, and jobs for the region.

The results reflect the region’s needs and aspirations for more vocational training, employment, and empowerment opportunities.

The polls, which ran for two weeks on the NDDC’s LinkedIn and Twitter platforms, stated that the NDDC wanted to hear from the public what areas or sectors it should prioritize for more investment and attention.

    Training/Empowerment/Jobs: The Topmost Priority
According to the poll results, Training/Empowerment/Jobs is the area or sector that needs the most attention or investment from the NDDC, with 43.4 percent of respondents on Twitter and 52 percent of respondents on LinkedIn choosing this option. This is not surprising, given the high levels of unemployment and poverty in the Niger Delta region.

The Niger Delta region has a young population structure, with about 60 percent of the population below the age of 30 years. The region also has a low dependency ratio of about 0.6, meaning there are more working-age people than dependents.

The NDDC’s focus on training, empowerment, and job creation is critical for the region’s development and can help to create a more vibrant and sustainable economy.

One of the participants, who chose this option, commented: “The NDDC should invest more in skills training and empowerment programs for the youths and women in the region. This will enable them to start businesses or get employed in existing ones.

This will also reduce the dependence on oil and gas and diversify the region’s economy.”
Another participant, who also chose this option, said: “The NDDC should partner with private sector organizations and international donors to provide more opportunities for training and employment in various sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, ICT, renewable energy, etc.

This will also improve the skills and capacities of the people in the region and make them more competitive in the global market.”
Electricity/Roads/Bridges: The Second Most Popular Option
Electricity/Roads/Bridges was the second most popular option, with 37 percent of respondents on Twitter and 28 percent of the respondents on LinkedIn choosing this area or sector.

This is also not surprising, given the poor state of infrastructure in the region. The NDDC’s investment in electricity, roads, and bridges can help improve connectivity and access to services, which can positively impact the region’s economy and quality of life.

One of the participants, who chose this option, Eric Aigbe, said: “Creating an enabling environment is it for me. This includes the provision of electricity and construction of roads and bridges.”
Another participant, who also chose this option, said: “The NDDC should improve the quality and coverage of roads and bridges in the region. This will facilitate the transportation and movement of goods and people across the region. It will also reduce accidents and losses due to bad roads and bridges.”

Agriculture/Fisheries and Small/Medium Business Development: The Least Popular Options
Agriculture/Fisheries and Small/Medium Business Development received the lowest number of votes, with 7.3 percent and 12.3 percent of respondents on Twitter and 4 percent and 16 percent of respondents on LinkedIn choosing these options, respectively.

While these areas or sectors are essential for the region’s development, it is clear from the poll results that Training/Empowerment/Jobs and Electricity/Roads/Bridges are the most pressing concerns for the people of the Niger Delta.

One of the participants, who chose Agriculture/Fisheries, said: “The NDDC should support the development of agriculture and fisheries in the region. This will enhance food security and income generation for the people. It will also reduce environmental degradation and pollution caused by oil spills and gas flaring.”

Another participant, who chose Small/Medium Business Development, said: “The NDDC should promote the growth and development of small and medium enterprises in the region. This will create more jobs and wealth for the people. It will also stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.”
