  • Zuckerberg lambasts Trump over plans to deport 3million immigrants from US

Founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg has knocked President Donald Trump over his intention to deport over 3 million immigrants from the United States.

In his reaction, Zuckerberg noted that his great grandparents where from Germany, Austria and Poland. While his wife Priscilla’s parents were refugee from China and Vietnam.

The Facebook founder wrote on his page: “My great grandparents came from Germany, Austria and Poland. Priscilla’s parents were refugees from China and Vietnam. The United States is a nation of immigrants, and we should be proud of that.

“Like many of you, I’m concerned about the impact of the recent executive orders signed by President Trump.

“We need to keep this country safe, but we should do that by focusing on people who actually pose a threat.

“Expanding the focus of law enforcement beyond people who are real threats would make all Americans less safe by diverting resources, while millions of undocumented folks who don’t pose a threat will live in fear of deportation.

“We should also keep our doors open to refugees and those who need help. That’s who we are. Had we turned away refugees a few decades ago, Priscilla’s family wouldn’t be here today.

“That said, I was glad to hear President Trump say he’s going to “work something out” for Dreamers — immigrants who were brought to this country at a young age by their parents.

“Right now, 750,000 Dreamers benefit from the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that allows them to live and work legally in the US.

“I hope the President and his team keep these protections in place, and over the next few weeks I’ll be working with our team at FWD.us to find ways we can help.

“I’m also glad the President believes our country should continue to benefit from “people of great talent coming into the country.”

“These issues are personal for me even beyond my family. A few years ago, I taught a class at a local middle school where some of my best students were undocumented. They are our future too.

“We are a nation of immigrants, and we all benefit when the best and brightest from around the world can live, work and contribute here.

“I hope we find the courage and compassion to bring people together and make this world a better place for everyone,” he added.

TheNewsGuru.com recalls that President Donald Trump had clearly stated in one of his speeches to deport over 3 million immigrants and had also ban the entry of nationals of crisis engulfed countries like Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya, from entering the United States.

    …orders Mexican border barricade

President Donald Trump has ordered a temporary ban of nationals from war troubled Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen pending the review of the vetting processes.

The president also ordered the erection of a wall along the US-Mexico border beginning from Wednesday (today).

He said this on Tuesday as he unveiled his actions on border and national security.

He has indicated temporary ban on immigration from Muslim countries deemed a ‘threat to national security’.

Trump will also sign other domestic immigration enforcement measures that will include targeting sanctuary cities that decline to prosecute undocumented aliens.

The president posted a tweet on Tuesday evening signaling that major announcements were in the offing.

‘Big day planned on NATIONAL SECURITY tomorrow (Wenesday)’, Trump tweeted.

‘Among many other things, we will build the wall!’

The new Trump directives will also stop most refugees including those from Syria coming to America while vetting processes are reviewed.

The one exception is religious minorities fleeing persecution – which would apply to Christians fleeing Syria and other Muslim majority countries.

In total the six immediate actions are as follows: Release of funds toward the construction of a wall along the southern border; Target so-called ‘sanctuary’ cities that decline to prosecute undocumented aliens; Institute a four-month freeze on admission of all refugees.

Others are Temporarily ban nationals from Muslim-majority countries that are ‘terror prone’; Halt visas to people from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen; Grant exceptions to Christians and other minorities fleeing Muslim persecution.

Over 200 of our members missing after Trump solidarity rally– IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has said that over 200 of its members were still missing after its solidarity rally in honour of the United States, US, President, Donald Trump in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

However, the police has since refuted the claim, saying only one death was recorded in the incident.

In a statement, the spokesman of the pro-Biafra group, Emma Powerful maintained that the report by the police was untrue.

The statement reads: “We the Indigenous People of IPOB and its leadership worldwide, wish to use this medium to correct the erroneous impression that we carried out a protest.

“What IPOB did on 20th of January 2017 in Igweocha Port Harcourt, Rivers State was a peaceful rally in solidarity with the newly elected President of the United States of America Mr. Donald J Trump, who took oath of office in Washington D.C.

“This solidarity rally in support of President Donald J Trump was announced by IPOB Worldwide on the 16th day of January 2017 by our media team and the contents of that announcement was unambiguous and could not conceivably be misunderstood or misrepresented to mean protest as has been erroneously reported by certain sections of the media.

“The event was scheduled and announced as a rally and not a protest. We would also like to place it on record that IPOB worldwide has confirmed that more than 11 Biafrans died as a result of the unprovoked, brutal and unwarranted military assault on our members during this peaceful rally.

“Many more are in hospitals receiving treatment with over 200 abducted presumed dead. It is incumbent on the civilized world to prevail on the regime of President Buhari to release the dead bodies and those they abducted; and to refrain from abducting those receiving treatment in hospitals.

“IPOB Family Units, whose members are missing, are advised to forward their names to our secretariat.”

He explained that IPOB lawyers were working tirelessly to locate and release those taken to Bori camp at Rumuola, the State CID, Port Harcourt and SOS Police Station at Miniokoro off Old Aba Road.

  • Trump’s Inauguration nightmare:Entertainers decline Invitation to perform

President elect ,Donald Trump has been trying to persuade some A-list musicians to perform at his inauguration ceremony slated for January.

So far the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, America’s Got Talent contestant Jackie Evancho, the Rockettes, and the Talladega College Marching Band have indicated interest.

Despite the low interest coming from top artistes, Trump’s team is suddenly denying claims that they’re experiencing glitches. The following musicians have reportedly declined performing at the event:

    Elton John

Despite a member of Trump’s transition team confidently announcing that John would be performing at the inauguration, John’s reps were quick to deny the claim with a curt statement: “Incorrect. He will not be performing.” John had previously expressed his anger with the president-elect when Trump used “Tiny Dancer” on the campaign trail without his permission this year, amusingly saying, “I’m not a Republican in a million years”.

    Kiss

According to Kiss front man Gene Simmons’s wife, Shannon Tweed, Simmons was asked if the hard rockers would perform at the inauguration, but the band will be on tour in Europe during that time. “They asked and he politely declined,” Tweed explained, with Simmons himself adding, “I think people should get over it and move on. He’s our president and that’s it, end of story.”

    Garth Brooks

Like Dion, country superstar Brooks was reportedly approached and wooed by Wynn to perform, but ultimately declined the offer.

    Céline Dion

Despite Trump using the help of noted Las Vegas hotelier Steve Wynn to entice Dion to perform at the inauguration — she currently has a critically adored residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace — Dion strongly refused the advances.

    Andrea Bocelli

There are two different stories as to why the prominent Italian tenor will not be performing at the inauguration. A member of Trump’s inauguration committee says Bocelli made the original offer to sing and was rejected by Trump; on the other hand, “Page Six”‘s sources report that Bocelli backed out after being offered the gig due to substantial backlash.

    David Foster

The Canadian musician and producer, who has been on friendly terms with Trump for many years, was invited to help with the inauguration festivities in numerous capacities. He told People: “I was invited to participate and I politely declined.”

    Rebecca Ferguson

Though the British singer had originally said she’d agree to perform at Trump’s inauguration only if she could perform Billie Holiday’s famous protest song “Strange Fruit,” she has since rejected his offer altogether. In a statement, Ferguson now says that due to “many grey areas about the offer,” she won’t be performing anything for Trump but still sends America “nothing but love.”

    Charlotte Church

Welsh singer in a tweet says she was approached by Trump staffers to sing at his inauguration. But in keeping with her public disdain for the president-elect (“a simple Internet search would show I think you’re a tyrant,” she fired back), her response is simply, “bye.”
