Tuchel reacts as Kennedy returns to Chelsea

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel has reacted after midfielder, Robert Kenedy, returned to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea confirmed the return of Kenedy from his loan spell at Flamengo.

“Kenedy has been recalled from his loan spell at Flamengo,” Chelsea’s statement had read.

Reacting to the transfer, Tuchel said at his pre-match press conference on Friday, that he was very happy about the Brazilian’s return

His comments come ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Manchester City on Saturday.

The German explained that it is a big opportunity for the 25-year-old to make his mark for Chelsea this season.

“About bringing players back, it’s not only about the need but the possibility. We sent them out for a year and they have a certain role at their clubs,” Tuchel said.

“Kenedy is back and I am very happy about it. It’s a huge opportunity for him to make his mark at this club and this team. We will try now, from today on, to push and support him.”

Tuchel seeks Dembele reunion at Chelsea

Premier League side Chelsea have jumped into the battle for Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele.

L’Equipe says Chelsea are ‘pushing’ to sign Dembele.

Blues manager Thomas Tuchel is ‘keen’ to reunite with the Frenchman after they worked together at Borussia Dortmund.

Dembele’s contract expires at the end of the season and a number of European clubs, including Liverpool, have been linked with a move for the player.

Chelsea are now ‘at the front of the queue’.

Just yesterday, agent Moussa Sissoko, as contract talks rumble on, rapped Barca coach Xavi for calling up Dembele with no training preparation last week.

He told L’Equipe: “We talk many times about money when it comes to the renewal of Ousmane, but it is not only a question of money. Also of day-to-day management.

“This sports management with this return to play without training, just after covid, is what makes things really difficult for us.”

Chelsea owner Abramovich backs Tuchel to discipline Lukaku

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly backed Thomas Tuchel ’s decision to discipline Romelu Lukaku.

Abramovich footed the bill when Chelsea splashed out a club-record £97.5million to sign Lukaku from Inter Milan in the summer.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel says there’ll be disciplinary action taken against Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku has apologised for last week’s critical interview on Italian television.

Tuchel confirmed Lukaku will have to accept a fine: “There will be some disciplinary action and he will accept it of course.

“What happened, happened. It is not a small thing, but it is not the biggest thing out there. It does not make a comeback impossible – absolutely not. This is what we prove now but something happened, and he will be fined and of course he needs to accept it.”

Tuchel also thanked the efforts of the club for the way they dealt with the situation and praised the “open and close relationship” that he has with other senior Chelsea personnel.

“It is not about my opinion and the club’s opinion. It is not about how I push my opinions through or the club. We had our doubts and we reflect on the situation. The more the story went on I had a clear opinion, and I was happy that it was okay for the club to go with it. I had the feeling it was fine.

“I spoke also to the players because it was not only about my feeling or ideas. Even in a moment like this where there are easier things to deal with, it was very nice to see that we have an open and very close relationship.

“We can find very quick solutions without any political interference, without pulling in every disturbing factor. We put them aside and isolate it on the moment and what is best for the moment. From there we went on, and it was very nice to be a part of it.”

Chelsea coach Tuchel confirms Lukaku apology

Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel says Romelu Lukaku has apologised for last week’s controversial interview.

Lukaku was dropped for Sunday’s draw with Liverpool.

Tuchel said today: “We have given it time to look calmly back on. He apologised and is back in the squad for today’s training.

“For me, the most important thing was to understand – and clearly understand – it was not intentional. He did not do this intentionally to create this kind of noise in front of a big game.

“Even before, when he seemed to be, in his opinion, ready to play after his injury from the start and we thought he needed to readapt to the intensity a little bit more, there was never the slightest behaviour against the team.

“So, it was the very first time that he felt in this way. It’s very important points to understand and stay calm and understand it’s not that big as maybe people want it to be.

“It’s also not small, but it’s small enough to stay calm, accept an apology and to move on forward.”

Tuchel agrees that Lukaku’s comments were a bit confusing, given that the 28-year-old had said he was “committed” to the club.

“That’s why it was so surprising to me,” said Tuchel. “Because he was on his way and he scored against Aston Aston Villa and the next game.

“He was there and decisive and we had the feeling that it was really a new start after injury and Covid.

“So, that why it was a big surprise.”

Tuchel says Lukaku “does not hold back in his opinions”.

“Credit to him for that,” adds Tuchel. “Sometimes he wears his heart on his sleeve but we should not blame him and focus on the negative side of it.

“We have to adapt to it and yes, it created some noise – which normally you absolutely don’t want.

“But there are zero doubts in his commitment to the team and to the club.”

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is delighted with Thiago Silva’s new deal at Stamford Bridge.

The veteran has penned terms to the end of next season.

Tuchel said today: “He is the Benjamin Button of football.

    “Benjamin Thiago!

“His approach to his fitness is outstanding and he is so precious in our dressing room. He can feel emotions and different state of emotions and can help so much from this.

    “He’s a big impact. A big help.

‘I’m sorry’ – Lukaku apologises to Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has apologised for his controversial interview during talks with manager Thomas Tuchel.

A meeting was held yesterday and Lukaku now is in line to return to the Chelsea squad against Tottenham tomorrow.

Lukaku held a productive meeting with Tuchel in which he is thought to have expressed his regret over going public about his unhappiness at Stamford Bridge and the subsequent fallout, says the London Evening Standard.

The striker was left out entirely against Liverpool on Sunday but trained yesterday with other players who did not start that game and expects to be reintegrated into the squad.

If recalled to the team, Lukaku will have an immediate opportunity to make amends with unhappy Chelsea fans when the Blues face Spurs at Stamford Bridge tomorrow night in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

Lukaku axe fully backed by Chelsea players

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has lost the confidence and support of teammates after last week’s critical interview.

The Belgium star, 28, caused a stir by revealing that he would ‘100 per cent’ still be an Inter Milan player if the Italian giants offered him a new deal last summer.

There is little backing for the striker over his remarks from his Blues colleagues, who are due to face Tottenham in a League Cup semis duel on Wednesday.

The Athletic reports claim that none of the players were ‘sticking up for Lukaku’ and were said to be surprised by his outburst.

And it is thought Thomas Tuchel’s handling of the situation has been backed by the team.

The Stamford Bridge gaffer is claimed to have talked with five or six members of his side before opting to drop Lukaku from the squad that drew 2-2 with Liverpool at home on Sunday.

Blues skipper Cesar Azpilicueta, N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Antonio Rudiger are rumoured to be among the group Tuchel conferred with.

Tuchel gives reason for dropping Lukaku against Liverpool

Thomas Tuchel dropped Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea’s squad for Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool after the striker conducted a controversial interview behind the club’s back that was published this week.

Tuchel explained his decision to drop the striker, he said before the game: “The thing got too big, the thing got too noisy so close to the match, so I decided to protect the preparation of the match, and that’s why he’s out.

“Of course we have spoken, we’ve spoken twice, I’ve spoken to the main players, of course and after that we had to realise it’s too close to the match, it’s too big.

“We delayed the decision about what to do. We need to protect the preparation of the match. We have a big match of football to play and we need full focus, which is hard to get anyway – hard even with this decision. But it is, in my opinion, easier if he’s not in the squad, and that’s why we did it.

“For sure it’s a difficult decision to take but in my opinion, it was the decision to take.”

After the match, Tuchel reiterated that Lukaku’s exclusion is far from permanent as he remains a key part of Chelsea’s plans.

“He is our player,” the Chelsea boss said. “There is always a way back, we will clear this behind closed doors and once we have made a decision and Romelu knows, you will maybe know also. It is not to be discussed now.”

Thomas Tuchel axe Lukaku from Chelsea squad

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has been dropped from the Blues squad to face Liverpool.

In an interview recorded several weeks ago but aired on Thursday, Belgium striker Lukaku said he was “not happy” with his bit-part role under Blues boss Thomas Tuchel earlier this season.

He added he would like to return to Inter Milan, who he left for Chelsea in August, in the near future.

Tuchel said the comments had brought the club “noise we don’t need”.

According to reports, Lukaku has now been omitted from today’s matchday squad. Lukaku has scored seven goals in 18 appearances since he rejoined Chelsea this summer.

He has also been hampered by injury and illness and, at times, found himself left out of the starting line-up when fit.

However, he has had a recent upturn in form, scoring in his last two Premier League appearances, after discussions about his role with Tuchel.

Lukaku condemns Tuchel tactics at Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku has expressed his frustration with Chelsea current situation and admits he would like to return to Serie A.

The 28-year-old, who has scored five times in 13 Premier League appearances, feels the current system employed by coach Thomas Tuchel does not suit him.

However, he has pledged to work his way back to his best form for the Blues.

“Physically I’m fine, even better than before. After two years in Italy, in which I worked a lot at Inter with coaches and nutritionists, I am physically fine,” he told Sky Sport.

“I’m not happy with the situation and that’s only natural. The head coach has decided to play a different system and I mustn’t let up, I need to keep working hard and be professional.

“I’m not happy with the situation but I’m a grafter and I mustn’t let up.”
