    Ubi Franklin reveals the reason behind his no-pregnancy clause for female artists

    Music executive Ubi Franklin has raised eyebrows after sharing his reason for including a no-pregnancy clause in contracts with female artists.

    In a recent interview on the Culture Sonic Podcast, Franklin explained that the substantial financial investment required to develop an artist’s career can be jeopardized if the artist becomes pregnant during the development phase.

    According to Franklin, pregnancy at this critical stage can slow down an artist’s progress and ultimately affect the financial returns on investment. This however, has led him to include the no-pregnancy clause in contracts to protect his investments and ensure the artist’s career growth is not disrupted.

    He said, “So just imagine that you have an artiste who you are investing in as a woman and she gets pregnant., that’s over. Ir will take a lot for the artistes to come back. Tell me any, any female artistes in our industry who has had a baby, who had not built a proper career and then went to have a baby and came back. I’m not saying they cannot have children, but the thing is, while you have it, build a strong career. Just imagine that you invest money in a female artiste, you’re pushing the artiste, you’re pushing to a certain level.

    “If I’m signing a female artiste, I always put it on a contract that for the duration of a contract, you will not get pregnant. If you’re watching me, this is a freaking business we should stop making it look like because you see artistes playing and everything on social media you can interact with artistes this is a freaking business. Right now to break an artiste, with 150 million, you’ve not even started. Sometimes you can spend 300 million on an artiste and get nothing as profit.”

    Taking to his own Instagram, the music promoter expressed joy in seeing the incredible person his son has become. He added that Jayden’s heart is full of kindness, curiosity, and laughter and has made their lives richer.

    Ubi Franklin faces backlash over support for President Tinubu ahead of 2027 elections

    Nigerian talent manager Ubi Franklin has come under heavy criticism for endorsing President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

    The controversy erupted after Franklin, who had never hidden his support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), disclosed via his social media that the opposition was choosing not to see anything good in the Tinubu-led administration, despite the many things he had done right since taking over governance.

    He further opined that the forthcoming elections will be interesting, stressing that the opposition will never unseat Mr President.

    His post reads: “In Nigeria, if the opposition wants to campaign against you, they will never see anything good in what you have done being in government.

    “There are many things President Tinubu is getting right.  I get the gathering of various political leaders to form a coalition, with the way it is currently constituted, it will be another interesting election, and they will not unseat Mr President.

    “I believe it’s time we start pushing the sub-nationals( governors) to work and do more to support the work being done at the centre, as they are receiving more than the governors before 2023.”

    Recall that Franklin, alongside music star Davido, nightlife promoter Cubana Chief Priest, and other members of the 30BG crew, recently met with President Tinubu and other dignitaries in Abuja.

    After Franklin had shared photos from the meeting on social media, dismissing the backlash as hypocritical. He argued that most of those criticising him would not hesitate to seize a similar opportunity.

    “If any of you here get the opportunity to meet even your Local Government chairman, I am sure you will be open to it, let alone a president,” he stated. “If I get another opportunity to meet Mr. President, I’ll do it again and again.”

    Franklin made it clear that the criticism doesn’t bother him, noting that he’s used to being misjudged and falsely accused over the years without allowing it to derail him.

    “I have been abused, misunderstood, and lied against for too long and I no still send una,” he wrote.

    He also reiterated his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying he has never hidden his affiliation with the ruling party. Wrapping up his response, Franklin accused his critics of double standards, insisting they would have done the same if in his shoes.

    Nigerian music executive, Ubi Franklin, has said Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke aka Davido, hired him to be Chioma’s manager.

    The Triple MG boss said Davido called him in 2018 to make the request and they have been friends since then.

    Ubi made the revelation while speaking about his relationship with the DMW boss (Davido) and his woman, Chioma Avril Rowland on Tea with Taymesan podcast.

    He said Davido has always supported him in different ways and never for once judged him for any of the controversial issues surrounding his marriage and business.

    According to the entertainment mogul, sometimes whenever he is down and in his worst periods, OBO always calls to cheer him up.

    He stressed that he values his relationship with them and loves them greatly because they always stand by him.

    Chioma had even blocked Davido’s lawyer, Prince who she has always had an issue with.

     

    It was gathered that on their respective Instagram pages, the parents of Ifeanyi Adeleke were no longer following each other.

    Nigerian music artist manager, Ubi Ekapong Ofem, popularly known as Ubi Franklin has averred that the Chrisland school boys in an immoral video currently circulating online had confessed to raping the 11-year-old school girl involved in the act.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Franklin stated this while stressing that Chrisland was trying to skew the narrative that the 11-year-old was not raped.

    Sharing his own side of the story, according a report he received from the girl’s father, Franklin wrote:

    “Events of my friends call yesterday. He said his daughter had been raped. I was very shocked. I had to quickly go for a meeting because I hadn’t been in Lagos for a while and there were matters that required my immediate attention.

    “I hurriedly left from there to my friend’s house and arrived at about 12:30am. When I got there, they family was in despair I was moved to tears because of the overwhelming emotions.

    “Here is the background story. This man paid for his little girl to go on this trip to Dubai and paid extra in tips for people to look after her. He allowed his daughter to go on the trip because she is good at sports and he wanted the best for her.

    “The school was entrusted with the welfare of the children. Both sexes were separated and housed in different rooms.

    “According to the girl, they went to have dinner when some other male students took her phone’s charger in jest and told her to come for it.

    “She initially didn’t want to go but because her phone was dying, she did. When she got to their rooms, they told her to go to the bathroom to pick up her charger. She went in and found herself surrounded by the boys who fed her certain substances to drink and smoke before she blacked out. A ten-year-old girl.

    “The students made a tape which I saw. In it, they told the girl to take turns on them. The school is trying to create the narrative that the girl was the one “on top of them”.

    “The boys have confessed but the school is trying to play down the confession. The school engaged in foul play by not contacting her parents the moment they got back in the country and have a meeting with the parents.

    “Because even if the narrative that the girl consented to it was true, the fact remains that there was a recording made against her will. The video was also posted which counts as child pornography.

    “Rather, the school called the mother and told her that her daughter had kissed a boy while they were on the trip. They asked the mother to check the daughter’s phone to make sure there was nothing on it.

    “They also asked the mother to not inform the girl’s father, After the first meeting they had with her, the school later requested for a zoom meeting fearing the girl had informed her mother about the incident despite their threats.

    “The mother went for a Mother’s Day celebration at school during which the school continued to intimidate the girl, forbidding her from telling her mother about what had transpired.

    “The school took the girl for a pregnancy test without her parents’ consent which was worrisome because there’s a possibility that had it been positive, the school might have decided to terminate the pregnancy.

    “They ended up having the scheduled zoom meeting with the mother and during which they still neglected to inform her about the incident. A fellow parent called and showed the mother the video of her daughter which had been in circulation for over a month.

    “The mother then tried to reach the school for a statement but failed to respond to her calls. Following which the school then sent the girl a letter of suspension.

    “The school needs to take responsibility for the incident because they neglected to inform the parents for over a month which points to the fact there is something fishy.

    “There needs to be an investigation of how the students got access to drugs and why the school allowed unsupervised access between boys and girls going to each other’s room.

    “According to the girl, when the incident happened, she initially tried to report to her teachers and knocked on their doors but got no response which is indicative of a negligence of duty.

    “If this had been addressed in a timely manner the incident might not have escalated to this extent and could have been curtailed. I was terribly distressed seeing my friend so distraught. I can only pray the school does right for the sake of this family”.

    However, Franklin has stated that he will no longer comment on the matter and that he was looking forward to an official statement from the school and the parents of the Chrisland school girl.

    Meanwhile, TNG reports the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) have taken up the case.

    Recall that few hours ago, Thompson took to his official Instagram page to confirm viral rumours that his marriage to Sandra has hit the rocks, barely 5 months after their luxury N45 million wedding.

    Steve said he wasted 45 million Naira to marry Sandra only to discover that Sandra “married for social media, not for the home.”

    He added that Sandra fights everyone, including his family members and constantly reminds him that she’s an American and tells him that he married her to get “Green card”.
