    Nigerian actress and filmmaker, Uche Jombo has disclosed that she was once a victim of sexual assault

    The 39-year-old mother of one made this disclosure in an interview with HipTV while speaking on the widespread allegations of sexual assault on upcoming actresses.

    “I’ve been in that kind of situation twice during my starting days,” she revealed

    “I rehearsed for almost two weeks only to come next and find that someone else was reading my role because I declined the request to ‘see me’ (for sex).

    “I wept seriously, I was hurt but four to five years later, I made it big.”

    On how she survived and maintained her stance at the time, Jombo said: “It is personal integrity. In my days, we move on when we’re denied opportunities for refusing to give in to sexual demands.

    “Sometimes, it’s your individual strength, drive and process that matters. What takes some six months to accomplish might take others six years.

    “Are you ready to wait for your time or you just want a shortcut that leads to no long-lasting opportunity? If you want the shortcut, chances are that there are people willing to give it.”

    Jombo ventured into the Nigerian movie industry in 1999 in the movie Visa to hell. As a screenwriter she has written and co-written several movies some of which include: The Celebrity, Games Men Play, Girls in the Hood & A Time to Love. Jombo went on to produce films such as Nollywood Hustlers, Holding Hope etc.

    When you think of Uche Jombo what comes to mind won’t just be her acting talent, but her versatility. Uche is an entrepreneur, director and filmmaker.

    Uche who recently synergized with Ini Edo to produce a new flick titled ‘Heaven on my mind’ has said women in entertainment need to support one another.

    When asked about her friendship with Chioma Akpotha, Ufuoma Mc Dermott and Omoni Oboli, she said:” I have been friends with Ini Edo for over 15 years, I can’t say anything bad about her and I don’t think she would say anything bad about me. Women in entertainment need to encourage one another more as opposed to tearing each other down”, she told Broadway TV.

     

    Jombo who debunked claims that are marriage had hit the rocks last year, also shared her thoughts about marriage

    “Marriage is a personal choice but we need to take it as a serious as what God intended it to be”.

    Popular filmmaker and actress, Uche Jombo has waded into the ongoing rift between Tonto Dike and journalist, Azuka Ogujiuba. The actress left a comment on Tonto Dikeh’s post telling her to take things easy and calm down.

     

    She wrote: “Tee please let this go. You owe no one an explanation”.

     

    Dikeh retorted, saying she can’t sit and watch another woman insult her because of a bribe.

     

    Hear her: “Sisterly, please take out time to watch Azuka’s interview. I have grown above all of these, I am in a happy place and things are going great but I won’t seat and watch a fellow woman, slander me”

    Uche Jombo reacts over divorce rumours

     

    Following widely circulated reports about Uche Jombo’s marriage hitting the rocks, the talented actress took to her Instagram page to debunk the reports.

     

    The role interpreter said she is only trying to balance her family life and work , adding that the stories are false.

     

    Hear her:”If YOU are going make up stories about my life or marriage try FACTS.

    Normally I will look at this stupid trending story on me today and look the other way but not TODAY!!! ENOUGH!!!!!! I find your need to create mirage tales of rancor where there are none in chase of a story/news outrageous. There’s no story here except a woman trying to balance her family life and work in 2 countries.

     

    “Please LEAVE my FAMILY out of your manufactured made up stories, there are more important stories, real issues in world people are worried about than little old me.

    My only social media cover-up is pretending You “Zero journalistic ethics” people didn’t hurt me by your unfounded and non-factual stories”.

     

    Recall that the actress’s husband months back, debunked the rumours via his social media page . Rodriguez apologized to his wife over widespread rumours that their marriage has hit the rocks. He said the rumours were false, adding that he has taken legal action against those peddling the speculations.

    The rumours began after photos of Rodriguez and a lady alleged to be his mistress, leaked online.

    Fans grilled Uche Jombo when of late she removed her husband’s name from her Instagram handle. Her deafening silence led to more hearsays and speculations as to whether the mother of one isn’t experiencing a crisis in her five-year marriage to Kenney Rodriguez.

    In her weak response, the filmmaker took to her Instagram page asserting that she is taking her family off social media and her fans should respect her decision.

    According to her: “Good morning ujlovers. Been on it for a while through my posts but officially taking my family off social media from today. Please respect that! Thanks for understanding. Stop with the evil insinuations” she wrote.

    No woman will intentionally delete her husband’s name from her social media handle without something eliciting that action. The more Jombo tries to shield her family from the public glare, the more dust is being raised, the more questions are being asked from both her fans and the media. That action tells us all is not well.

     

     

    Now let’s flip to another page. There are unconfirmed reports that Uche’s husband who is based in Dallas, USA is allegedly dating a 22-year African-American student with the name Teresa. According to reports, the lovebirds have been spotted on romantic dates in Dallas.In addition, their starry-eyed pictures have been trending on social media leading to a myriad of speculations about her marriage.

    Though Uche is yet to react to the recent intense rumour, but her fans are already expressing their sentiments on social media.
