  • 2023: Okowa hails Uduaghan for reconciling members of Delta PDP

2023: Okowa hails Uduaghan for reconciling members of Delta PDP

Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Delta State,

Ifeanyi Okowa, has hailed his predecessor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, for his contributions to the party’s campaigns.

Speaking on Wednesday at PDP campaign rallies at Ogbe-Ijoh in Warri South-West and Udu Local Government Areas of the State, Okowa stated that the PDP is happy with the way the former Governor is reconciling members of the party.

“The work you (Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan) are doing in reconciling members of our party, we are happy with it and we can’t thank you enough,” Okowa told Uduaghan.

At the rallies, the Governor deplored the abandonment of the Gas Revolution Industrial Park project in Ogidigben in the State by the ruling All Progressives Congress’s (APC’s) Federal Government.

He also slammed the APC administration for the moribund Delta Steel Company, Ovwian-Aladja now Premium Steel Company.

He said that as important as the gas revolution park was to the nation and the world, the Buhari administration had failed to ensure its realisation.

He pointed out that the world was moving towards gas as an alternative energy source, but lamented that the Federal Government’s ineptitude had put the gas project in jeopardy.

The PDP Vice-Presidential candidate, however, assured that the Atiku-Okowa ticket would make the project a top priority when elected.

According to him, when optimally harnessed, the gas potential in Warri South-West Local Government Area and other oil-bearing communities would significantly boost the nation’s economy and the State as well as the Local Government Area.

He said that the APC administration lacked creative ideas on how to diversify the economic base of the nation which would have put the nation on a pedestal of sustainable growth and development.

“For over seven and half years, the APC-led administration has failed to bring the Gas Revolution Industrial Park in Ogidigben to reality because they don’t understand the economic potential of the project.

“This is why we must have our own person in Abuja so that we can ensure the commencement of the project.

“Let’s vote for the PDP to ensure the realisation of the project. It will be one of the major projects we will embark on once we take over.

“The whole world is moving towards gas and we have it in abundance and I can assure you that we will focus on it because many countries are looking for gas and we have it in abundance.

“If elected, the Federal Government, under the PDP would pay special attention to the enormous gas in Warri South-West Local Government which has been abandoned by the APC administration.

“A PDP Federal Government, if elected, would harness the vast gas potential in the area and other oil-bearing communities in the country to strengthen the economic base of the nation which will also trickle down to the Local Government Areas that produce oil.

“APC has finished Nigeria with their inept administration and we will not allow them to kill us before we act. So, let us vote them out with our PVCs,” the Governor stated.

On Delta Steel Company, Ovwian-Aladja, Okowa assured that the PDP would join hands with the core investor, Premium Steel, to revive the moribund company.

“We are already talking to Premium Steel; the State Government may invest in the company for the sake of our people that will be employed there,” he stated.

Deputy Governor of the State, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, said he was grateful to Governor Okowa for the construction of the Aladja-Isaba road, Madagho Sport road, and interventions at the Maritime University, Okerenkoko.

Otuaro said Warri South-West would not disappoint the party, and assured that they would vote for all candidates of the party as they had always done.

Former Governor of the State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, lauded the people of Warri South-West for being very peaceful and commended Okowa and Otuaro for their contributions to peace and development of the area.

At Udu, the former Governor decried the mismanagement of Delta Steel Company, Ovwian-Aladja, and urged the Vice-Presidential candidate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to work towards reviving the company, when elected.

Governorship candidate of the party, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, commended Otuaro for his laudable contributions to the governance of the State, assuring that he would advance the State further with his M.O.R.E. Agenda.

He said the party had never lost an election in Warri South-West and urged them to maintain the status.

In his remarks, State Chairman of the party, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, said Deltans had resolved not to vote for people with questionable characters.

He said that Deltans would vote for Sheriff Oborevwori as Governor because he would live with the people and transform the State with more development projects.

Director of the State Campaign Council, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, commended the people for their consistent support for the party since 1999 and urged them to vote for all candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections.

At Otor-Udu, a former APC chieftain and aide of the Deputy President of the Senate, Benjamin Sharta, along with hundreds of his supporters, dumped the APC for the PDP.

He said that they left the APC because of the dictatorial leadership style of APC Governorship Candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, and the lack of progress in the party.

Former SSG condoles Uduaghan over Father-In-Law’s death

A former Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay has commiserated with the immediate past Governor of the State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan over the death of his father-in-law, Brig. – Gen. Sunny Esijolomi Tuoyo rtd.

Tuoyo, a former Military Administrator of old Ondo State during the military era, passed on in Lagos at the age of 84. He was the father of Uduaghan’s wife, Roli.

In a condolence message issued in Asaba, Macaulay noted that the passing of Pa Tuoyo was a great loss to the two families of Uduaghan and Tuoyo as well as the Itsekiri nation and the military.

Besides, he said that as a professional soldier who rose to the top rank Level, Gen. Tuoyo contributed its quota to the feats attained by the Nigerian military and in turn the growth and development of the country.

In addition, the former SSG acknowledged that the deceased raised a decent family including a former first lady of the State.

“Though it is painful to lose a loved one, the family should rejoice over the fact that he lived a fulfilled life having made it to the top echelon of his chosen career, the military as well as emerge the Governor of a State,” he stated.

Macaulay prayed to God Almighty to grant the soul eternal rest as well as give the children, the Uduaghans, the Tuoyos, the Itsekiri nation and the military, the fortitude to bear the loss.

2023: Uduaghan continues his reconciliatory moves, hosts Urhobo PDP stakeholders(Photos)

The Immediate past Governor of Delta State and Chieftain of the PDP, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan continued his reconciliatory moves on Tuesday at Jesse Town where he hosted Urhobo PDP critical stakeholders at the country home of Chief John Obukhowko Nani, DESOPADEC Executive Director of Finance and Deputy Director, Delta Central, Delta State PDP Election Management Committee.

Uduaghan met with PDP leaders of Urhobo extraction drawn from all three Federal Constituencies as part of his recent move to unite aggrieved leaders and stakeholders of the PDP ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The former number one Delta citizen spoke in unbroken Urhobo language appealed to the leaders to do everything within their reach to ensure the PDP stands taller in Delta Central especially as the PDP Governorship candidate, their son, Rt.Hon. Sheriff F.O Oborevwori hails from the District.

He cautioned that the PDP is facing a tougher hurdle in the build up to the election due to the new provisions of the electoral law and adroitness of old political foes squaring up against the state ruling party in several opposition platforms.

He took time to emphasize the importance of “togetherness” in terms of working assiduously for the emergence of Atiku/Okowa as President and Vice-President and Sheriff/Onyeme as Governor and Deputy as well as other positions which is encased in the 5 over 5 mantra of the PDP rather than “vengeance” which could result in 3 over 5 or 4 over 5.

The former two termed Governor opined that anything short of 5 over 5 for the PDP will be very calamitous not just for the party but also affect anyone who goes against the party. He cautioned seriously against it.

Various leaders from all three federal constituencies comprising the Ethiopes, OSU, the Ughellis/Udu took turns to air their views about the primaries while also corroborating and acknowledging the importance of heeding the admonishment of the immediate past Governor whom they confessed is Godsent at a time the party needed a unifier and excellent peacemaker to rally support for all candidates of the PDP ahead of next year’s elections.

2023: Uduaghan on the march again, hosts Burutu PDP(Photos)

Former Delta State number one citizen, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, on Sunday hosted leaders and party faithfuls from Burutu LGA at his GRA Warri residence as part of his peace move to reconcile aggrieved members of the PDP ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Uduaghan in his usual display of rare humility among politicians narrated his political journey as an illustration that God can pick anybody despite our preferences to fill in any position. He agreed that qualification can give an advantage but it is not the only determinant because all power belongs to God.

Admittedly, the former Governor said it is always painful when one loses a contest but the reality is that there are always winners and losers in every contest.

He maintained that the attitude of the winners can make all the differences – either preventing people from leaving a party or further causing polarization as is evident in the many fallouts from the party primaries. But he assured that before the elections, the big PDP family will be united because there has been progress in the peace moves across the state.

He tasked all those who clinched party tickets across all levels to reach out to their opponents, admonishing that a simple phone call or visit will calm aggrieved hearts because everyone spent money.

The leader of Delta South also used the opportunity to appeal to all those aggrieved not to leave or work against the party assuring that the position might reach them in the next contest because politics is a very slippery venture.

2023: Uduaghan’s peace moves hits Isoko, meets critical stakeholders

The peace moves to reconcile all aggrieved PDP critical stakeholders as Ex-Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan meets Chief Solomon Ogba, Askia Ogieh, Pastor Jonathan Ukodhiko and other aggrieved Isoko PDP leaders.

Recall that before this recent move the former number one citizen had hosted all PDP stalwarts in his country home where he bared his mind on the way forward.

Uduaghan, on Sunday met with leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Isoko North and South Local Government Areas of the state over the disagreement among leaders of the party in the area.

Uduaghan, who called for unity and peace among party leaders in the area, stressed that PDP needs a united house as the party go into the 2023 general elections in the state.

The peace meeting was held at the residence of the former governor and was attended by prominent leaders of the party including the PDP House of Representatives’ candidate for Isoko Federal Constituency, Engr. Jonathan Ukodhiko and development activist, Afahokor Akpovienehe Duncan.

Other PDP leaders at the meeting include former Commissioner of Sports, Chief Solomon Ogba; former Delta PDP chairman, Elder Emmanuel Ogidi; Delta South PDP Chairman, Chief Julius Takeme; former chairman of Isoko North, Elder Emmanuel Egbabor and Dr. Paul Oweh.

Also in attendance were Bernard Odior Esq., Hon. Prince Johnson Erijo, Dr. Evelyn Aluta Esq., Hon. Christian Itire, Isoko North LGA chairman, Bashorun Askia Ogieh, Hon Victor Asasa, Isoko South LGA Chairman and a host of others.

Also recall that after the conduct of the PDP primaries, the party in Isoko Nation had been factionalised along interest lines with some aggrieved leaders vowing not to work for the party’s victory in next year’s elections.

However, Uduaghan confirmed holding the peace meeting in a statement issued on Sunday by his Media Assistant, Monoyo Edon.

The statement said the former governor invited leaders from both sides across the two LGAs to chart a way forward to resolving the crisis in Isokoland, admonishing that the party cannot go into the forthcoming election with a divided house.

According to the statement, His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, CON, the Immediate Past Governor of Delta State and Chieftain of the PDP earlier today (Sunday) at his Warri GRA residence hosted PDP leaders of Isoko extraction as part of his recent move to unite aggrieved leaders and stakeholders of the PDP ahead of the 2023 general elections.

“The leaders had expressed confidence in the capacity of the two-term former Governor to resolve the issues not just in Isoko but also across the state and urged him not to be discouraged.

“Dr. Uduaghan pledged to host subsequent meetings with the leaders with a view to seeing thatthe leadership crises is resolved completely ahead of the 2023 elections.”

Breaking: Ex-Gov of Delta State, Uduaghan calls on PDP stalwarts to support members vying for positions

…says don’t give our collective mandate to others they won’t recognize us

Former Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, on Saturday, calls on all critical stakeholders and prominent stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to support all candidates of the party aiming for positions in 2023, including governor Ifeanyi Okowa who is the vice presidential candidate of the party.

The former Delta number one citizen made this disclosure at the Delta South Stakeholders and Leaders confab to flag off of ward-to-ward campaign of the party for the 2023 general election held at his Warri country home.

Apparently this development confirms the fact that both Uduaghan and James Ibori, also a former governor of the state were politically aligned to Okowa.

Uduaghan arranged for the meeting as this was his first public appearance in a political meeting after the governorship and presidential primaries of the party.

In his remarks at the meeting, Uduaghan stated that: “We must all come together and deliver our candidate.

“I am saying this with all seriousness and from the inner part of my heart. I am old enough in the politics of Delta State to assess people so I know those who are sincere and those who are not sincere.

” It will benefit us more to deliver our candidate than deliver a candidate of another party. I am saying this from experience and that’s what will happen.

” If you deliver a new candidate he will satisfy his people first before you”.
