Chelsea set to face Braga or Servette in Europa Conference League play-offs

Chelsea’s opponents in the Europa Conference League play-offs have been determined.

The Blues will compete against the loser of the match between SC Braga and Servette FC for a spot in the competition.

This was confirmed on Monday following a draw.

The first leg is scheduled for Thursday, August 22, with the return leg a week later.

Chelsea finished sixth in the Premier League last season. They had been on track to participate in the Europa League, but Manchester United’s victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final relegated the Blues to the Conference League tournament instead.

West Ham vs Gent: Moyes warns players to be wary of Nigerian forward, Gift Orban

West Ham United manager, David Moyes has told his players to keep an eye on Red Hot Nigerian forward Gift Orban ahead of their UEFA Europa Conference League encounter.

Gent will host the Hammers in the quarter-final first leg encounter at the Ghelamco Arena on Thursday (today) night.

Orban, who linked up with Gent from Norwegian second division club, Staebek in January has been in sensational form in the competition.

The 20-year-old scored the quickest hat-trick in UEFA club competition in Gent’s 4-1 rout of Turkish club, Istanbul Basaksehir in the previous round last month.

Moyes reckoned it is important for his side to keep the young striker quiet.

“Ghent did very well in Istanbul. They are going very strong. Gift Orban scored a hat-trick in Istanbul,” Moyes told a press conference.

“He is a very dangerous player but we saw them work enough and realize that their core has several strong players.”
