    President Buhari returns from two-week medical trip to UK

    Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has returned to the country after embarking on a two-week medical trip to the United Kingdom.

    Recall that President Buhari made the trip to London on the 31st of October, 2022 for a medical check up.

    The President had presided over an emergency National Security Council meeting in the State House, Abuja, where he and his security chiefs had reviewed the security advisory issued by the United States Government to her employees in Nigeria.

    He attended the opening ceremony of the conference and retreat organized for Senior police officers in Owerri, Imo State before jetting out.

    While abroad on medical trip, Buhari used the opportunity to visit the King of England, King Charles lll

    Buhari and King Charles  engaged in a heart to heart talk, where King Charles was reported to have jokingly asked Buhari if he had a residential building in the UK.

    President Buhari is expected to join in the All Progressive Congress presidential campaign team to rally support for the party.

    Abroad Tour: E-money takes singer portable to UK for shows

    Popular socialite and businessman, Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E money has sponsored Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, to the United Kingdom.

    The rave of the moment took to his Instagram page to share photos and videos of himself and the socialite at the MM1 airport in Lagos.

    The Zazuu crooner also revealed on Tuesday that he’ll be performing in three cities, while in the United Kingdom.

    Portable wrote, “@iam_emoney1 Na Baba God bless you more Godfather You no go fall Thanks to those people way dey show me love from day one.

    The promoter had initially joked that Portable would abscond if he took him abroad

    Portable has hilariously replied that he wont be a run away artist if he gets the opportunity to travel abroad for a show.

    While responding to the event promoter, Portable swears that if he is given the chance to travel outside of Nigeria, he will not seek to flee.

    The promoter said “I no trust this zazoo. He go run away if I carry him go UK. I no want another wahalaa oooo,” the show promoter said.

    The singer replied to the show promoter by saying “I can’t run away”

    COVID-19: Buhari, entire delegation proceed on isolation after London trip

    President Muhammadu Buhari as well as members of his delegation have gone into isolation after a two-week trip to London, UK.

    The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu confirmed this on Sunday.

    He explained that the move was in accordance with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines for international travel.

    The Nigerian High Commission in London has since been shut down to observe the mandatory ten days isolation of those who were in contact with the affected officials.

    Members of the President’s delegation to the UK included the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba; Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar and the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Munguno (retired).

    President Buhari had on July 26 travelled to London, United Kingdom to participate in the Global Education Summit on Financing Global Partnership for Education (GPE) 2021-2025 and see his doctors.

    At the summit, he pledged to increase the budget for the education sector by as much as 50 per cent over the next two years.

    During the visit, the Nigerian leader also met and played host to various dignitaries including the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.

    The Prime Minister during the meeting assured Buhari that the UK is available to assist Nigeria in its war against terrorism.

    After 19 days abroad, President Buhari returned to the country.
