TheNewsGuru recalls that in 2019, both rappers engaged in a protracted feud that saw them pour out their grievances in diss tracks.

“Anytime I’ve been asked about Vector, I speak glowingly about him. I have called him one of the best freestylers, called him a great artist. You can check my tweets. Type MI Vector and see what I’ve said about him,” MI said.

“If you find me one clip, ever, of Vector saying something nice about me, one clip, I’ll apologise. Every single time I’m involved in one form of issue, he pops up, says something about me and it’s always something negative.

“It’s always shade. At some point, I just got tired. There also came the narrative that MI is not going to respond cause he’s scared. And I think that situation was very unique because I had just started.”

M.I also said that he was silent at a point because he was adhering to the advice of music industry figures.

“The thing was heating up. Every egbon (senior) in music business called me and told me to say nothing,” MI said.

“I got on a plane someday and met this West African director of a multinational company, a powerful woman, who was in tune with what was going on. She also advised I don’t respond to whoever it is that’s saying things about me.

“I tweeted and she tells me ‘you see, your tweet pops up on my screen, so be careful what you say on your platform’.

“Even coming to that situation which I hadn’t prepared for before, I had to be like, ‘hey you know what, I can’t respond willingly, I can’t talk about this the way I want to talk about it but it was time for me to say something’.”

“Dear single woman, if men won’t stop touching you, get a taser. Make sure it’s one of those that doubles as another thing (like keyholder). The results will be shocking henceforth. If he say na mistake, you self go say you no know when e shock am,” he wrote.

The outspoken rapper said it was about time women come up with ingenuities to challenge the menace in view of the perceived helplessness of relevant authorities.

“This lesson is something men was forced to understand about life. If no one will help you, help yourself. If it’s okay for you to shocked by their act, it’s okay for them to be shocked by yours too,” he noted.

The episode started with both rappers previewing what the other had said during the course of the series. At one point, M.I said he had the impression that Vector just doesn’t like him, while Vector said he believes M.I is cunning and deceptive.

Later, M.I and Vector were invited into the same room.

Vector first addressed the M.I reference in his first single “Kilode” in which he rapped “What the heck do you want from me? Asking if I could kill M.I, why would I?” to which Vector said he didn’t think M.I would take an offence.

They also talked Headies Lyricist on the Roll reference in M.I’s “NotjustOk/Savage” track. M.I rapped: “To the headies wassup wassup… You’ve been a blessing to the game to lots of us, but that lyricist award mehn we got to talk. Not tryna say I deserve to play cause I f*ck with everyone who emerged in that. The criteria of the win it doesn’t favour the men spitting new raw shit that’s word and facts…”

The beef reached a climax in 2019 in which both rappers released a slew of diss tracks at each other.

When asked by the interview if there is the possibility of a collaboration, Vector replied: “If this energy is pure, then there is no way I don’t see a collaboration happening”

    Blaqbonez slams Vector

Calls him:’ A very competitive person’

Budding rapper, Blackbonez has thrown a jab at Vector.

The controversial rapper has shared his opinion on the lingering beef between M.I and Vector.

According to him: “I personally think it (the beef) has gone from the first stage. Like MI said in his song, the first song Vector got popping with, there was a line at MI.

“He said ‘can I kill MI?’ He also referred to the fact that he’s short, he told LITV.

Blackbonez also added that Vector got it wrong from the beginning.

No, at that time, MI was undisputedly the top guy. He was the popping guy. He was the number one in anything you could talk about when it comes to rap.

“So, if somebody new is coming and the first verse we hear from the person is sort of mentioning your name, not in a respectful way, I understand that it’s fair to have a problem with that person.

“Like you’ve not even done anything and you’re already disrespecting me, do you understand? So, I think from then on, there’s been a little bit of friction.

“MI has probably worked with almost every rapper in Nigeria over the years, him and Vector have never worked together. So, I feel like, it’s always been there but it’s never been out in the open like it is now.

“And Vector to me is a very competitive person. I feel like he sees MI as.. you know.. like he’s coming out and there’s a top dog I need to kill to become the top dog.”
