    AMVCA:: Two cousins Neo, Venita scoop best dressed Male, Female awards

    Neo and Venita Akpofure  two cousins who featured at the Big Brother Naija reality show   shone bright at the 10th African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards’ cultural day held in Lagos on Friday night.

    The best dressed male award was bestowed on Neo while his cousin, Venita was adjudged the Best Dressed Female for the second consecutive year.

    The duo donned Itsekiri royal attires for the 10th AMVCA’s Cultural Day and Opening Night celebration.

    They were presented cheques of N1 million each by the organisers.

    The  10th AMVCA Main Awards Ceremony holds Saturday, May 11, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos State.

    Ex-Big Brother Naija housemate, Venita Akpofure, has said she was a star before going for Big Brother.

    The actress made her first appearance as a housemate in 2019 during the ‘Pepper Dem’ edition and also in 2023 as part of the All Stars.

    While featuring in a music with rapper, Magnito, titled ‘Gen Z Cypher’, Venita claimed that the organizers of the reality show didn’t make her popular, stating that they both helped each other.

    She said;

    “I made it before Big Brother. No be Biggie help me, we dey help each other. Small girls babbling, I don’t even bother. Dem no get experience; they never cross border.”

    Khafi reacts over Mercy, Venita attacking Ella on BBNaija Reunion

    Reality TV star, Khafi has reacted over last night’s episode of the BBNaija Reunion show which saw Mercy and Venita attacking Ella.

     

    Ella was denigrated, called a beggar and a liar by Mercy and Venita . Which made her cry on live television.

     

    This didn’t sit well with Khafi who took to Twitter to reveal details about ex-housemates of the reality TV show.

     

    She wrote: “I have decided I will not be uploading a diary session in response to #BBNaijaReunion.

     

    “I just finished watching yesterday’s episode (I had only seen snippets) and am disgusted by how Ella was treated & what was permitted in light of such a sensitive situation.

     

    “The reunion show has become toxic and a line was definitely crossed yesterday. I have always said that whilst Big Brother Naija is a reality TV show for viewers, we must always remember that we are dealing with REAL people’s feelings and REAL people’s emotions.

     

    “Depression and suicidal thoughts are REAL TOO and can easily be triggered by this pack mentality gang up and bullying that has been exhibited on the #BigBrotherNaijaReunion show thus far.

     

    “No matter how much make up someone wears or how pretty they look or dress on the outside, it means nothing if our hearts are hardened towards our fellow human beings and we lack empathy and respect towards ourselves.

     

    “I stand for light and love and genuinely believe in being good to one another, even if we don’t get it right all the time. Some participants on this show however are standing for the complete opposite and I will not encourage this behaviour by engaging with it.

     

    “This being said, I will no longer be commenting or responding to anything said on the show. Every single housemate has my number – it is in the WhatsApp group (aka the “safe space” that resulted in shaming someone on national television) yet not one person who has aired a grievance had picked up the phone to call me to discuss or make me aware of any ill feelings they had towards me beforehand, knowing full well I would not be present on the show.

     

    “This is despite the fact that myself and these persons have previously spoken on the phone jovially & would smile upon seeing me in public, assuring me that all had been forgiven & “what happened in the house stays in the house”, only for the show to uncover what was being harboured behind my back all this time.

     

    “I hold no hard feelings towards anyone and DID mean it when I said all was forgiven, but I understand that we all grow differently. For those who choose to continuously slander others in order to draw attention to themselves, I do hope it is worth it in the long run”.

     

     

  • BBNaija:Venita slams Omatshola over finale derogatory remark

    Actress and reality TV star, Venita is not happy about how Omatshola described her during his interview with Ebuka at the BBNaija grand finale held yesterday.

    Akpofure made this known while reacting to a comment shared by one of her fans via her Instagram page on Monday, October 7, 2019. Venita had shared a tweet about respecting boundaries and accepting rejection when dealing with a woman.

     

     

    The fan then appealed to her not react to Omatshola’s statement after he was evicted from the reality TV show.

    “Please if this is about Yesterday’s talk, please I beg you let it go! Person not worth it, comment dumb! I wish you knew where you are placed in our eyes. Lion no Dey follow pig drag gutter o. ❤️,” the fan wrote.

    Moments later, Venita responded to her fan’s statement, condemning Omatshola.

     

    “You don’t get to physically be inappropriate or verbally abusive to any woman based on rejection. I listed all the good qualities of this man as to why he should be in the finale. Gave him the most of my coin. Was the only housemate to support him physically during a challenge he felt disadvantaged due to injury. I was very defensive during workout with one of our trainers. Yes, we may have not always seen eye to eye. But you don’t get to slander me for over 2 months straight. What is the BASIS of the bitterness?”

    During his interview with Ebuka, Omatshola described Venita as a childish woman. This must have led to Venita’s social media outburst.

    Truth be told, evicted BBNaija housemate, Venita Akpofure changed the rhythm of the show when Big Brother created a plot twist on the reality TV show.
    The gorgeous ex-housemate in a recent encounter with Pulse recounted some of her experiences on the show.
    Asked about her relationship with Omashola and Frodd, she said: “Omashola was like you are fine and I was like ‘Okay.’ To me it was superficial, it was surface. I immediately invalidated that. So I wasn’t interested nor did I find him attractive physically. He is very aggressive and very loud. He was very everything.In his excitement, he portrayed characteristics that I did not find attractive. Frodd as an intelligent guy didn’t need to do much, he didn’t need to do much verses .He just watched Omashola shoot a tornado up and land on his ship put a hole and start to sink and he was just amused by it. Frodd had his own slow Tiger way ‘Are you okay? What do you want to eat? there is a chair here,” she said.
    Speaking further, Venita added that Frodd begged to kiss her, while Gedoni expressed his feelings for her.
    “In the Big Brother house, when there is loud music especially when you are in the party place, the DJ is playing and you are having a good time, and you are watching, you don’t really know what we say. And I think all the viewers can attest to it, you cant hear what we say. At that point in the club, people exchange things. Last Saturday and I am going to believe that he was a bit drunk when he said it. For example, Frodd was like ‘Kiss me now…are you not going to kiss me before the end of the…” so there was a lot of things even during the Munchit challenge, that was when Gedoni was like “I’m very attracted you.”
    “First, he asked, “what do I think by I mean by he is cute.” And I was like you are cute does not mean I want something and he was like okay ‘I find you very attractive” I think that was part of his game and Khafi…i don’t know. There are a lot of things that people would say at certain times and you won’t see,” she said.

    Recently evicted Big Brother Naija housemate, Venita has stated what Gedoni told her about Mercy.

    Venita who was evicted on Sunday during the live eviction show on Monday in an interview with Ebuka revealed some things fans did not know about Gedoni.

    The bubbly housemate said Gedoni told her he liked Mercy and would have loved to be the one with her, not Ike.

    She said: “Gedoni informed me about a lot of things like during the munch challenge, Gedoni told me he likes Mercy and she is the person he would have loved to be around.

    “He also told me how Enkay reminds him of his ex-girlfriend. I told him he is cute but that does not mean I want to get down with you.

    “There is more of a future with Khafi outside the house than with Gedoni.”

    Asked about Khafi’s strategy, Venita added that Khafi is playing a strong game in the house as the other girls and housemates do not see her as a threat but she is a big threat.

    “She flips flops and bends with each housemate at different levels which makes her a threat.

    “Success comes when you are in a position that makes you adaptable in every situation.

    “They all think Khafi is gentle but she is the one with the strongest game.”

    On a night that Venita Akpofure was evicted from the Big Brother Nigeria House, London Metropolitan policewoman Khafi Kareem was the toast of voters, as the poll results showed.

    Out of the five housemates listed for eviction, she polled 28.21% of the votes, meaning the fans still favour her to stay till the 99th day.

    She was followed by Frodd who got 24.46%. Omashola was third with 20.61% and Elozonam got 19.66%.

    The beautiful Venita who was shown the exit door got the least score of 7.06%.

    Big Brother Naija, BBNaija 2019 edition experienced another dramatic moment on Saturday.

    It all started when Mercy approached Venita over her discussion with Khafi, blaming her for their punishment.

    TheNewsGuru recalls that Biggie on Friday punished five housemates; Omashola, Tacha, Venita, Frodd and Khafi for failing their wager task.

     

    Khafi earlier told Mercy that Venita suspects that Mercy, as the Head of House, suggested the punishment to Biggie.

    Venita while trying to clear the air with Mercy after Saturday night party broke down in tears.

    In her words, Venita said she only told Khafi that she suspects Mercy told biggie to give the legends their punishment and was not certain about it.

    In the process of trying to convince and soothe Mercy about her loyalty as a friend to her, Venita broke down in tears.

    BBNaija: Why Big Brother punished Khafi, Tacha, others

    Five Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, housemates were on Friday morning punished by Biggie.

    The housemates; Khafi, Tacha, Frodd, Omashola, and Venita were penalized for having failed their week’s wager.

    Biggie had given the housemates a Task Challenge to show love to the elderly ones by developing five presentations, which included painting, sculpture, knitting, a poem, and a unique special piece.

    After all performances, team legend lost while team Enigma won.

    Team legend afterward was given punishment to clean the house thoroughly and scrub the Jacuzzi.

    In the process, Khafi shed tears as the housemates cleaned and mobbed the BBnaija house.

    Although the Legends lost, Biggie awarded them a bonus point for their costume but they do not get to shop this week.

    TheNewsGuru reports that Khafi, Elozonam, Frodd, Omashola, and Venita have been Nominated for possible eviction on Sunday.
