Venita Akpofure advises ladies below 28 to avoid getting married

Reality star Venita Akpofure has advised ladies below 28 years of age to avoid getting married early.

Venita explained in an interview with Tacha on her Radio Big Friday Show on Cool FM said young ladies need to try different aspects of life.

She advised ladies to enjoy their youth before getting tied down by marriage.

“Don’t marry young o! Don’t go and do “I’m doing high school sweetheart, we die here”, just be young! Be young, enjoy your life. When you’re tired, get married.”

According to Venita, she won’t allow her daughter to get married when she is less than 28 because as a young lady, you need to try different aspects of life with different experiences before deciding to get stuck in the union called marriage.

“Do not marry young, I’m saying ideally — okay if my daughter came and approached me that she was ready to get married, if my daughter approaches me, as long as she’s not I swear to God, not up to 28, we can rock with it. Anything below 28, please no.”

“Because you’re going to change your mind and you don’t know all of who you are at 20-something. Don’t get me wrong, there are people who are mature oh. But you need to try different things in life, different experiences, to be sure of okay, I want to be stuck here. Because it’s handcuff, you’re there.”

“Because you’re stuck – that’s the social idea. Unless you’re Westernized like me, then you’re unstuck, you can unstuck yourself. I’m divorced. The ones that are enjoying now, ‘ll probably still reach a time where they’ll probably hate each other and still have to be in the same space.

“I’m telling you! Why do you think to say them get madam room and oga room? When the ground is shaking and I need space, I need space. Be in your room, I’ll be in my room. To me, an ideal marriage, my husband would have a wonderful house here, and mine would be over here, and there would be magnificent corridors connecting the two houses.”

Venita Akpofure opens up on losing deal after turning down sexual advances

Reality Tv star, Venita Akpofure has recounted how she lost a real estate deal after she turned down sexual advances from a staffer of the company.

In a series of tweets shared via her Twitter page on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, Akpofure narrated how a promising deal went sour after she turned down sexual advances from one of the company’s heads.

“This industry is not beans. All is smoke and mirrors. I prayed to God to be able to provide security for my girls. Some time ago I was to go into business with a real estate company. Was so excited for my first home which was heavily discounted on the journey of independence,” she tweeted.

“The company was well established and boasted a roster of worthy influencers. I was welcomed and I felt at home with the brand. Unfortunately for me the “media head” who also has a similar industry background, decided I looked like his ex-wife and carried my matter on his head.”

“Even when I was gifted penthouse hotel experience for my birthday, he insisted on spending the night as “he couldn’t go home and had early island appt”. I actually left the whole suite for him and went home as I will not subject myself to any inappropriate circumstances.”

“I decided he had really crossed all professional boundaries and honestly he was not any way involved with my dealings because I had a direct plug. I reported him to the CEO. He was asked to vacate my suite immediately the next morning. And was infuriated.”

“Upon further investigation, myself and his colleagues learned he was given money to prep gifts for me, and needless to say he probably only spent 5k from what was allocated which was comfortably hundreds of thousands. The guy was just beyond crooked.”

“Anyways fast forward. Although I was apologised to and we moved on, I never saw my contract again despite asking severally, (which was not concluded and as a result unsigned as the lawyer now refused to bring it out). Long n short, Conclusively my discounted house disappeared.”

“The CEO no longer took calls. Everything suddenly vanished. Fast forward to now. Truthfully What is yours is yours and man cannot take it. No need to talk too much. Ladies do not be afraid to draw your lines clearly. Especially in business.”

“Stay woke! Stay consistent and stay resilient. I don’t regret my experience as I learned from it. It’s better to die standing than begging on your knees for anything you believe in or have worked for.”

“Also as an executive be mindful of your staff. Especially the ones who are excessively nice 4no reason n want to be part of everything in excess. That’s a type of thirst that will be insatiable. I actually brought in sales of millions jus under N40m. Sad! but we move!”

“Now I’m just excited about the content I will make with the next brand I’m working with! God is on the throne.”

Speaking further, she went on to admonish women who have at one point or the other planned to give up because of the challenges faced in their careers not to give up.

“Why speak on this now? So many women in Africa work HARD! Check the stats! Even the pioneers we know have been duped, taken advantage of, inappropriately approached, been cheated. Yet the black woman is the most abused on the planet.”

“To the girl and woman who is anxious Or feels cheated? Or wants to give up! Please DO NOT! Man cannot steal your destiny! It is God-given. Redirect your disappointment into learning and progress. To the woman who needs to hear it. Continue to breathe life into your goals.”

I don’t regret divorcing my husband- Venita Akpofure

Former BBNaija star and actress, Venita Akpofure has said that she divorced her husband because their marriage was no longer healthy for her.

Beautiful Akpofure made this known during an episode of the BBNaija Reunion show.

Akpofure revealed that she had to leave to go discover herself after working as a housewife for years.

In her words: “When you become a new mum, it is very easy to lose your identity in the name of trying to build her home and keep it together. I really did a full 360, I wasn’t working in front of the lens. I was really domesticated. The switch was quite extreme and I was in that space for a long time between 5 to 7 years or so. It wasn’t making me happy. it wasn’t fulfilling for me it wasn’t healthy for me.

“It got to a point where my kids were going to the toilet on their own and I’m like, I need to find something to do. What happened to me? I needed to find myself apart from all other bunch of things that might make you want to file for divorce. It’s not an easy decision to make to decide that this is not good for you but it takes a very strong mind to do that so I was very determined and I don’t regret it at all.”

  • As a married woman, I still get advances from men- Venita Akpofure Tarka

Actress and ex-video vixen, Venita Akpofure is not just known for her beauty, she is known for being blunt when it comes to expressing her opinions.

The beautiful mother of two has said she still gets advances from men even as a married woman. Akpofure made this known in a chat with Punch.

According to her: “I feel really blessed and I can best describe my marital experience as being educational. I am married to my best friend and we always strive to bring out the best in each other. I still get advances from men, with many of them sending me messages on social media. I find it insulting though because if you check my social media pages, it is clearly stated in my bio that I am a wife and mother. So if you’re sending me such messages, you’re simply saying that I’m promiscuous. Or maybe the person is just stupid and hasn’t carried out enough research to know about me. My husband laughs over it though”.

When asked about who inspires her in the entertainment industry, she said the individuals who never gave up, inspire her.

“I’ve learnt that you cannot please everybody. However, I admire a wide range of people for different reasons in fashion, movies, music, and other fields. I admire people like AY, Yolanda Okeke, Jackie James, Ini Edo, Skales and basically people that never gave up”.
