This is following Osimhen’s penalty goal against Partenopei in a club’s friendly game on Sunday.

Reacting to his goal, Napoli wrote on their Twitter handle, “Osimhen!!! 1-0. But the most important thing: He’s gonna be our penalty kicker this season.”

Osimhen thrown out of Napoli’s training over altercation with teammate

Super Eagles and Napoli striker   Victor Osimhen was on Sunday evening thrown out of the club’s training following a serious altercation and protest with a teammate on the pitch.

Luciano Spalletti’s side is two days into their camp in Castel di Sangro and was going through an open 11v11 training exercise when new signing Leo Ostigard, who was selected in Osimhen’s team, was the subject of a robust challenge by Cameroon international Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.

The Nigeria international’s appeals for a foul call fell on deaf ears, leading him to remonstrate aggressively. Despite attempts by Anguissa to placate him, Osimhen would not be mollified.

Osimhen was angered that the foul was overlooked and wouldn’t stop protesting and talking over the issue.

However, Napoli’s boss, Spalletti had to send him away for talking too much and protesting the foul.

“You talk too much. Go and take a shower.” Spalletti yelled at him

This decision did not sit well with the striker, who ripped off his bib in protest and angrily gave it to a teammate on the bench before storming into the dressing room for a shower.

Osimhen’s temperament has come under increased scrutiny recently, as only last week he was involved in a heated argument with teammate Hirving Lozano during a friendly with Perugia.

There have been offers for Osimhen from Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Newscastle but none has seen the light of the day.

However, for now, Osimhen remains a Napoli player, and his preparations for a third year at the club are well underway as he joins his teammates in pre-season training.

Only, the Nigerian ace hasn’t exactly made positive headlines with his behavior in Napoli’s training camp as he was sent off by manager Luciano Spalletti during a public session this week.

Osimhen made this disclosure on a radio programme, Wazobia FM in Lagos

“For me, as I got to the hospital, I told my doctor that I would be out for two weeks maximum.”

He added: “When the scan came out, I fractured many bones, which they had to remove and fix inside again.

Super Eagles forward, Osimhen dreams of playing for Arsenal

Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen is being sought-after by Arsenal fc of England and the Napoli striker is already dreaming of playing at the Emirates.

Arsenal are in need of strikers for next season’s campaign and beyond and Osimhen is on their radar.

Earlier in March a report surfaced that Arsenal dreamt of signing the Nigerian. It comes after a campaign in which he has scored 16 goals in 28 games in all competitions for Napoli.

Meanwhile, they are not ready to let him go on the cheap at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Napoli have tabled a huge sum of 84 Million Pounds on the 23 year-old attacker.

”Much may depend on how much Arsenal have to work with over the summer. And they will surely be hoping that Napoli are open to a compromise on the price.

Humble yourself, Ikpeba fires back at Osimhen over bicycle kick comment

Former Super Eagles forward and Supersport pundit Victor Ikpeba has expressed shock over Victor Osimhen’s reaction to his criticism after the feisty encounter of the Qatar 2022 play-offs between Nigeria and Ghana.

Ikpeba had criticized Osimhen for using bicycle kicks instead of stopping the ball and aiming at the goalpost at a time the Super Eagles was in a dire need of a goal.

Osihmen fires back” No be that pundit go tell me wetin i go do”

”Adi e funfun ko mo ara e lagba”

Osimhen hinted that Ikpeba is not playing his role as an elderly person.

Speaking on Top sports in Lagos, Ikpeba advised Osimhen to apply humility to his talent for him to grow better in the game.

Ikpeba added that no Nigerian player has won the African best player award 23 years after Kanu Nwankwo last won it for Nigeria, adding that Osimhen has the capacity to do so again, saying humility also pays a major part in that.

He said ” Osimhen didn’t take the criticism in good faith and that’s not good for an emerging talent, he needs to be humble.

” If anyone has the potential to win the African footballer of the year it is Osimhen, but he should watch his attitude.

”At 23 i also know what i have already achieved as a footballer”

However, Victor Ikpeba hinted that he was on his way to Abuja for house allocation.

Recall that President Buhari on Thursday approved house allocation for 22 members of the 1994 AFCON winning squad and the players have converged on Abuja to do clearance and collect keys to their houses.
