EPL: Osimhen’s release clause our major problem – Arsenal

English clubside, Arsenal have informed Napoli they will not meet Victor Osimhen’s €130 million (£110.8m) release clause.

According to the Gunners, Osimhen’s relese clause is too high.

It would be recalled that Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta is really hinged on adding a striker to his squad after narrowly missing out on the Premier League title last season.

However, one of the names on his list is believed to be RB Leipzig striker, Benjamin Sesko, and is available due to his €65m (£55.2m) release clause.

    EPL: Osimhen, Chelsea deal off

Barring last minute change, Super Eagles striker, Víctor Osimhen will not play for Chelsea next season as the London club has concluded to bring back Lukaku from his loan move.

Lukaku has spent the last two seasons away from Stamford Bridge at Inter Milan and Roma and was on the verge of joining Napoli for next season’s football before Chelsea’s latest move.

But the Blues are eager to recoup some of the £98million transfer fee they paid to sign the striker from Inter in 2021.

Chelsea  have claimed that some factors have necessitated their resolve to keep faith in Lukaku.

Although the Blues are keen on keeping Lukaka, an asking price of £37m has been placed on the Belgian who earns around £325,000-per-week and there is said to be interest from Milan and Napoli.

EPL: Chelsea told not to sign Osimhen, reasons given

Emmanuel Petit,  former France and  Chelsea midfielder, has advised the Blues not to try signing Victor Osimhen.

According to Petit, Chelsea should stick to Senegal striker Nicolas Jackson instead of signing Osimhen.

It’s speculated that the Blues have been strongly linked with a move for Osimhen as they look to add more firepower to their attack.

Senegal international, Jackson, who is in his first season at Stamford Bridge has been criticized for missing clear-cut chances for the London club.

Petit, however, said Chelsea should keep faith with Jackson instead of bringing in Osimhen or any other striker.

Emmanuel Petit urges Chelsea to trust Jackson over buying Osimhen or Isak:

“Chelsea do not need [Victor] Osimhen or [Alexander] Isak. We all know about the No.9 curse at Chelsea and in the last couple of months, we’ve seen what [Nicolas] Jackson can do,” Petit told Grosvenor Sport.

“There’s no need to put more pressure on him by signing someone like Isak on his back. You need competition in every position, but when you have someone like Jackson starting to emerge, don’t put pressure on him and let him explode. For me, if I’m Chelsea, I’m not buying Isak as Jackson is already beginning to flourish.”

Speculations are rife that Napoli SC of Italy  are considering a move for another Nigerian, Terem Moffi as a potential replacement for  departing Victor Osimhen.

Osimhem could be on his way to Ligue 1 side,  Paris Saint Germain (PSG) to play club football  next season.

The African Footballer of the year could stage a return to the French Ligue where he previously played for Lille of France before moving to Italy.

Napoli have been eyeing Moffi and are making a move to land the Super Eagles forward as a replacement for the former Lille striker.

Moffi has enjoyed a prolific campaign for Ligue 1 club, OGC Nice.

The 23-year-old Nigerian has already scored 11 goals for his clubside this season.

Moffi still has 3 years left on his contract and is expected to remain at the club untill 2027 unless he gets bigger offers from another club.

His compatriot Victor Boniface who plays his football for German champions Bayer Leverkusen and Bologna star, Joshua Zirkzee, have also been linked with Napoli.

Osimhen reaches agreement with new club

Super Eagles and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, is close to joining Paris Saint-Germain for a record fee of  €120million (£103m/$129m).

This moves technically rules out premier League clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal from signing him.

Recall that several top clubs in Europe were eyeing a move for the Super Eagles striker this summer.

But according to Italian outlet Il Mattino, negotiations between Napoli and PSG are reaching an advanced stage for the player.

PSG are eager to out manoeuvre rivals like Chelsea in the race for his signature.

The French side will pay Osimhen’s €120m release clause and offer him a four-year contract worth €13m (£11m/$14m) per season.

Chelsea’s financial constraints and the urgent need to comply with the Premier League’s Profit & Sustainability Regulations (PSR) forced them to pull out of the race.

Super Eagles and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has reportedly told his closest friends where he will be playing his football next season.

However, the striker’s body movement already shows that he could be headed to the English Premier League.

It would be recalled that the Nigeria international has been linked with a move to Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

Osimhen signed a new contract last December which includes a hefty release clause.

According to Calciomercato.com, the striker has already set up the foundations of a transfer in the summer, having tasked his agent Roberto Calenda with securing a high-profile move away from Napoli.

The 25-year-old has shined in Serie A this season despite the chaos at Napoli.

He has scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 18 league appearances for the Partenopei.
