Sad story of how a bride was shot in the head at her wedding

A bride was killed at her own wedding when a stray celebratory bullet fired by a guest hit her in the head.

Mahvash Leghaei, 24, was toasting her marriage following the ceremony in Iran when the fatal shot was blasted from a high-powered hunting rifle.

The single bullet is understood to have gone straight through the psychology graduate’s skull.

She was rushed to hospital and was in a coma before later dying.

Two male guests were also injured by the gunfire.

The shooter – who police said had “poor control of the weapon” – then fled the scene before he was tracked down by cops.

Police spokesman Colonel Mehdi Jokar said: “We had an emergency call of a shooting at a wedding hall in Firuzabad city and officers were dispatched immediately.

“The officers discovered that somebody had fired shots with a hunting rifle as part of the local nomad tradition, but unfortunately because of the crowds and the person’s poor control of the weapon, he managed to shoot three people, two men and the bride.

“The shooter then fled the area but police located the man still carrying the unlicensed hunting rifle that had been fired at the wedding.”

The custom of firing a gun at weddings is still common in the Middle East – despite being illegal.

Local reports said two bullets were fired, with the second hitting the bride’s head and two other people.

The shooter was identified as a 36-year-old who has not been named, but said to be a cousin of the groom.

Nigerian lady calls off wedding to hold on Saturday over fiance’s abusive nature

A Nigerian lady identifed as Ada Uburu has called off her wedding slated this Saturday 16th, April 2022 following her fiance’s abusive nature.

Narrating her ordeal on Facebook, the embattled lady noted that being beaten was not part of the agreement in the scheduled marriage.

“I AM CALLING OFF THE WEDDING AND TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE (IGBA NGWU) BETWEEN ME AND DAVID OKIKE that supposed to hold on this Saturday 16th, April 2022,” she posted.

Her lengthy post on Facebook has since garnered thousands of reactions.

According to the lady: “I never wanted to bring this here but I have to, I am a type of person who likes to keep my relationship away from social media but this is for clarification purposes.

“This was my secondary school classmate who I thought I knew to an extent. On December 28, 2020 he did the 1st and 2nd stage in my family marriage list which bride price happened to be on the 2nd stage which he paid. After he paid my bride price he started maltreating me.

“2021 was hell for me that at some point I left home, after everything we settled around November 2021 which he promised he will never beat me again. But still nothing CHANGED.

“This is my reason why I am CALLING OFF the Traditional Marriage (Igba Ngwu) and White Wedding ceremony between me and DAVID OKIKE OFF. (Beating me was not part of the agreement in our Marriage).

“This Saturday should have been my traditional and white wedding ceremony day…. I supposed to be happy but I am not.

“For couple of months now I have been going through a lot.

“I have been in a TOXIC RELATIONSHIP for OVER a YEAR now.. I am aware that this may be a shock to many people, especially people from my Home Town. My supposed husband HIT and ABUSE me in any slightest provocation, just small misunderstanding without minding what condition I am into.

“Because I have chosen ME and I will not live my entire life facing DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. My supposed husband is full of RAGE, BEATING me with his Belt, Stick, Broom is his DAILY ROUTINE, Many a times he had lifted his hammer ? on me and this Monday last week just because of little misunderstanding he beat me mercilessly and on the process of it he rushed into his mother’s kitchen for a cutlass, when I noticed he’s going for a weapon I locked the door behind him which he forcefully opened, both his mother and Sisters and some neighbors were begging him not to cut me with the cutlass … With all these things and more I am fed up.

“Please to my family and friends I am so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you ??.

“But I will not end up with a man who always promise that if I didn’t kill him, that he will kill me.

“I am still suffering from unstoppable headache I sustained from the head injury he gave me 3 weeks ago.

“The “bride price paid” will be Returned in due time. Please Respect my choices. Thanks and God bless you all.©ADA UBURU.”

What every man should do before getting married – Comic relief actor, Ijebuu

Popular comic relief actor, Olatayo Amokade a.k.a Ijebuu has advised single men on what to do before ever thinking of getting married or raising kids.

Ijebuu averred that going into marriage without money could be problematic; hence the need for every man to make sure they are financially stable before getting married or having kids.

Expressing his view on why young men of today are not interested in marriage, he stressed young men of today have learnt a significant lesson from the marriages of their parents, and that this has influenced their need to be financially stable.

Adding to his point, Ijebuu emphasized the pressure that comes with running a household as a man and how the majority of the responsibility is solely on him.

“Young men have learnt from the mistakes of their parents, most of whom got married at young ages and later found it hard to cater to their families. Of course, these young men also want to have kids and enjoy marriage.

“But, going into marriage without money could be problematic. Many times, a man gets disrespected because he cannot afford to cater to the needs of his wife and kids. Many wives nag at their husbands who are poor.

“Hence, the best thing for every man is to make sure they are financially stable before getting married or having kids.

“Even the cost of organizing a wedding is expensive, and most of the money comes from the man. Yet, he would still need to get a home for the family.

“The financial burden on married men is immense, and that is why many young men are being careful about getting married.

“Most times, when a man is dependent on his wife financially, the woman usually end up shaming him with it when things go sour,” Ijebuu stated.
