The 26-year-old right-back made 190 appearances for United following his 2019 move from Crystal Palace.

He appeared in United’s surprise FA Cup final win against Manchester City last season but was not in United manager Erik ten Hag’s plans for the new season.

“It’s an amazing feeling to be back in London and I’m excited for what’s coming,” Wan-Bissaka said.

EPL: Arteta anticipates West Ham’s favour over City on final day

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has admitted his team would really appreciate if West Ham could do them a favour on the final day of the Premier League season.

Arsenal  are trailing Manchester City with  two points and they will play Everton on the last day of the season.

However, whether they win the title for the first time in 20 years, would be down to City dropping points against the Hammers.

“The hope is there. It [Spurs winning] didn’t happen. Now we have to do our job.

“Everton are in a really good moment, we have to prove again that we can be better than the opponent and then wish for the best, for West Ham to have a good game, help us and fulfill our dreams,” Arteta said.

We deserved Chelsea thrashing – West Ham midfielder

West Ham United midfielder Tomáš Souček struggled to find the words when he was asked to sum up his team’s loss to Chelsea.

The Hammers were battered 5-0 on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League to a resurgent Blues.

Club media reported that there was “disappointment, embarrassment and even anger” from Souček when speaking about how they had played.

“I have to say we really deserved it because we did not do what we were told,” he admitted post-game.

“We did some good individual things but not as a team. Going forward and going backwards, we did many things wrong, and we got punished for that. On the other hand, we could have scored a few goals, but we conceded a lot of easy goals.

“As a team, we have to have great spirit and be compact all the time. If someone goes pressing, someone else stays all the time, and the opposite cannot work like that, and we got punished for that today.”

  • Chelsea boosts European hopes after thrashing West Ham

Chelsea boosts European hopes after thrashing West Ham

Chelsea kept up their electric goalscoring form at home and boosted their hopes of European football with a 5-0 thrashing of West Ham on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have now scored 22 times in their last six Premier League games at Stamford Bridge.

There was a fluency to their attacking play that could well have yielded substantially more than the goals they put past the hapless visitors on Sunday.

Chelsea were three up at the break with Cole Palmer netted the 21st league goal of his debut season in West London, steering a loose ball into the corner, thereafter Conor Gallagher volleyed home.

Noni Madueke headed the third near the end of an excellent first half, before Nicolas Jackson took his tally for the season to 13 in the league with a brace after the interval.

Chelsea climbed to seventh after recording back-to-back league wins for the first time since January, and there is increasingly the feeling that, after a difficult start, the players are responding to their head coach’s methods.

For David Moyes’ Hammers, this was a calamitous display, eliminated from Europe and now all but out of the race to qualify again next year,

It was hard to avoid a sense of a promising season petering out as the Chelsea goals flew past Alphonse Areola and their players came to look more and more dejected.

EPL: West Ham target Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi

Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi could be on his way to another Englis Premier Leage side, West Ham United.

There are reports Nottingham Forest are open to selling the Nigeria international to avoid another breach of the Premier League’s financial rules.

Nottingham Forest, according to the Premier League, admitted to breaching the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

The Tricky Trees have already been handed a four-point deduction as punishment for their offence.

Forest are however at risk of committing the same offence next season if they don’t sell one of their top stars in the summer.

Awoniyi has been touted as the player they will be willing to sell to rake in the needed cash.

West Ham showed interest in the striker last summer but had their offer firmly rejected by Forest.

The Hammers are set to move again for the former Liverpool player in the summer.

Awoniyi has already scored twice against West Ham this season

The 26-year-old has scored six league goals this season.

He joined Nottingham Forest from Bundesliga outfit, Union Berlin for £17.5m in June 2022.

EPL: Saliba , Saka score as Arsenal humiliate West Ham 6-0 at London stadium

Arsenal on Sunday thrashed host  West Ham united by 6-0  at the London Stadium to continue to mount pressure on Manchester City and Liverpool in the title race.

In a totally one-sided affair, the Gunners started strongly forcing saves out of Alphonse Areola before a set piece helped them into the lead. William Saliba leapt highest from a corner to nod home the opener.

David Moyes’ side then fell apart and Arsenal took complete control with slick passing, fine runs and a clinical eye for goal. Bukayo Saka won and converted a penalty to score the second before Gabriel headed home a third. Leandro Trossard curled in a fine finish from just inside the box to make it four goals before half-time.

The Gunners added two more goals in the second half  to complete the annihilations of the Hammers.

The result meant that a three horse race has been set up for the 2023/24 English Premier League title race.

Ten Hag offers no excuses after Man Utd lose at West Ham

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag offered no excuses after their 2-0 defeat at West Ham.

Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus struck the goals for the hosts.

Ten Hag said: “I think it was a decent 72 minutes where we didn’t take our chances. We should’ve gone in the lead but we didn’t and then it was one moment of switching off.

“We tried. West Ham weren’t running behind us for a long period in the game and then they got the goal and then of course you encourage the team. From that they were very aggressive defending the box and from that moment it’s difficult to create a chance.

“At this moment we are not top, but we have seen last week against the top of this league we were head-to-head. We didn’t score, we had the best opportunities of the game. There we defended very well for 90 minutes, that has to be always our standard like what we did there. You have to bring that to every game on the pitch

“In 2023, we won a Cup, we played the FA Cup final, we were third in the league. There were highlights but we are over-performing, but in this moment we are underperforming. There are reasons for it, we have many injuries, so the team will be better if the injured ones return. We have to be calm, stick together, stick to the plan, we have to do it together.”

On Alejandro Garnacho’s miss, he added: “I think he is confident, he’s in good form at the moment. He was one on one with the keeper and he could’ve taken it but we didn’t.”

EPL: Bowen, Kudus score as West Ham beat Manchester United 2-0 at the London stadium

West Ham United on Saturday afternoon defeated Manchester United 2-0 at the London Stadium to climb to sixth on the log.

The Hammers broke the deadlock after the first half of the encounter ended 0-0 as all efforts to score a goal proved abortive.

However, West Ham’s Bowen broke the deadlock  in the 72nd minute by tucking past Onana at the second attempt after a superb pass from Paqueta.

Six minute after, Ghanaian attacker, Kudus rounded off two defenders to fire home from the edge of the area to condemn United to another Premier League defeat.

Manchester United’s effort to at least score a goal didn’t yield any result.

The final result meant West Ham United will finish above Manchester United on the Premier League log for the Christmas season.
