Middle East: Trump invites Israeli PM Netanyahu to the White House

US President Donald Trump has invited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to a meeting at the White House on February 4, the Israeli premier’s office said on Tuesday.

“Prime Minister Netanyahu is the first foreign leader to be invited to the White House during US President Trump’s second term,” the statement said.

A White House official confirmed an invitation had been extended to the Israeli prime minister to meet at the White House “early next week”.

“Details on the date and time will follow when finalised,” the official added.

The Trump-Netanyahu meeting comes after the US president repeatedly claimed credit for sealing an ongoing ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, which came after months of fruitless negotiations.

After the ceasefire took effect, Trump touted a plan to “clean out” the Gaza Strip, calling for Palestinians to relocate to neighbouring countries such as Egypt or Jordan.

The idea has faced strong backlash from Egypt and Jordan as well as from European governments.

During his first term, Trump frequently claimed that Israel “never had a better friend in the White House”, a sentiment often echoed by Netanyahu.

However, the Trump-Netanyahu relationship soured briefly after the Israeli leader congratulated Joe Biden on his 2020 election victory.

Trump, who falsely claimed to have won the 2020 election, accused Netanyahu of disloyalty, according to multiple media reports at the time.

Nonetheless, soon after taking office for his second term, Trump reportedly approved a shipment of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, which the Biden administration had previously halted.

Netanyahu praised Trump for providing Israel with the “tools” to defend itself.

BREAKING: Donald Trump announces first appointment

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has named his campaign manager, Susie Wiles as his White House Chief of Staff.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Wiles with her appointment by Trump will become the first woman to serve as White House Chief of Staff.

Wiles currently serves as a senior adviser to Trump and is campaign co-chair alongside Chris LaCivita.

Trump described Wiles as “tough, smart, innovative” and said she is “universally admired and respected.”

He noted her place as the first female chief of staff in U.S. history, saying: “I have no doubt that she will make our country proud.”

“Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of both my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns,” Trump said in a statement.

“Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again,” he added. “It is a well deserved honor to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history. I have no doubt that she will make our country proud.”

During his victory celebration in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump gave a special thanks to Wiles for her prominent role in the campaign.

Largely avoiding the spotlight, Wiles has been widely credited for running what was Trump’s most disciplined and well-executed campaign.

  • I shouldn’t have left White House after I lost in 2020 – Trump

I shouldn’t have left White House after I lost in 2020 – Trump

Former U.S. president Donald Trump said he regretted leaving the White House after he lost the 2020 presidential election, which he never conceded.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Trump, the Republican candidate for Tuesday’s US presidential election, said this at a campaign rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania.

“We had the safest border in the history of our country the day that I left. I shouldn’t have left. I mean, honestly, because we did so well,” Trump said.

He added that there were now “hundreds of lawyers” at every voting booth for the upcoming presidential election. Trump spoke about the achievements of his presidency.

“We had the best economy ever. We had that wall. We had everything,” he added.

Trump lost the 2020 presidential election to his Democratic challenger Joe Biden. To this day, he refuses to admit defeat.

The former president filed dozens of lawsuits after Biden won in 2020, which failed in court.

On January 6, 2021, his insistence that he won and that his “victory” was stolen from him led to the storming of the Capitol in Washington, the seat of the U.S. Congress, by his supporters.

Trump ultimately stayed away from Biden’s swearing-in ceremony later that month, breaking with tradition. He left the White House a few hours before the inauguration.

Trump is running against Democrat Kamala Harris in the Nov. 5 presidential election. He has been casting doubt on the integrity of the upcoming vote.

Trump vows to deal legally for publishing bad stories about him if…

Donald Trump on Friday accused Google of showing only “bad stories” about him and promised to have the tech giant prosecuted if he gets back in the White House.

Trump provided no backing for his accusation in a post on his Truth Social platform, in which he added that the search engine displays only positive articles about his Democratic rival Vice President Kamala Harris.

This is an ILLEGAL ACTIVITY, and hopefully the Justice Department will criminally prosecute them for this blatant Interference of Elections,” he said in the post.

“If not, and subject to the Laws of our Country, I will request their prosecution, at the maximum levels, when I win the election.”

The Trump post came after a conservative group reported on what it said it found when doing a search on “Donald Trump presidential race 2024.”

“Both campaign websites consistently appear at the top of Search for relevant and common search queries,” Google said in response to an AFP inquiry.

“This report looked at a single rare search term on a single day a few weeks ago, and even for that search, both candidates’ websites ranked in the top results on Google.”

Google has been adamant that it does not manipulate search results to favour any political candidate.

The company does not disclose the inner workings of the software that powers its ubiquitous search engine.

However, factors known to influence search results for news stories include the timeliness and popularity of topics.

Trump is at the centre of numerous criminal and civil cases in which he faces accusations including sexual abuse, paying hush money to a porn star, interfering with the 2020 election and trying to thwart the peaceful transition of power after President Joe Biden defeated him.

Biden’s doctor dismisses White House neurologist visit concerns

U.S. President, Joe Biden’s personal physician on Tuesday stated that the president had not seen a neurologist outside of his annual physical examination.

This was as a result of the U.S. media reports about a Parkinson’s specialist visiting the White House multiple times.

Biden’s personal physician, Kevin O’Connor, said in a letter published on Monday that neurological specialist Dr Cannard examined President Biden for each of his annual physicals.

“Biden has not seen a neurologist outside of his annual physical,” he said.

O’Connor said Cannard had been visiting patients at the White House for a dozen years and was not chosen because he was a movement disorder specialist.

The statement by Biden’s personal physician comes after a heated debate had broken out at a press conference between journalists and White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

The New York Times, citing official visitor logs, reported that Cannard had visited the White House eight times since last summer.

Jean-Pierre refused to respond to questions about why Cannard had been visiting the White House regularly over the past few months.

According to O’Connor, the results of the neurological examination by Cannard were made public each time, most recently at the end of February.

The published health report stated that there were no indications of possible strokes or Parkinson’s disease, and that the president showed “no tremor, either at rest or with activity,” the letter said.

Biden, 81, has increasingly faced questions about his mental fitness since his TV debate with Republican challenger Donald Trump.

A debate was sparked in the U.S. over whether Biden is the right Democratic presidential candidate for the November election due to his age.

Biden has rejected any doubts and refuses to take a cognitive health test to assess his mental abilities.

The White House’s recent action is uncommon and indicates the increasing pressure.

The release of the letter likely aims to dispel any rumours suggesting the possibility of Parkinson’s disease.

Jean-Pierre told the press briefing that he was not being treated for the disease.

US Elections: White house speaks on Biden quitting presidential race

The White House has reacted to reports that President Joe Biden is considering quitting the presidential race.

Andrew Bates the White House Senior Deputy Press Secretary and Deputy Assistant to the president, described the report on New York Times  as false.

In his post on X, Bates noted that the claim is false.

His post reads: “This claim is absolutely false and if we had been given more than 7 minutes we could have communicated this before it was publicized.

“That claim is absolutely false. If the New York Times had provided us with more than 7 minutes to comment we would have told them so.”

Bates was reacting to a report by the New York Times that Biden informed his allies that he is considering quitting the presidential race.

The newspaper quoted an anonymous source saying of Biden, “He knows if he has two more events like that, we’re in a different place,” referring to last week’s presidential debate in which Biden did poorly.

The newspaper reported that the president’s conversation is the first indication that he is seriously considering whether he can recover after a devastating performance on the debate stage in Atlanta.

The newspaper quoted Biden’s ally as saying that the president understood that he faced an uphill battle to convince voters, donors and the political class that his debate performance was an anomaly.

It added that President Biden had told a key ally that he knew he might not be able to salvage his candidacy if he could not convince the public in the coming days that he is up for the job after a disastrous debate performance last week.

The president, who the ally emphasized is still deeply in the fight for re-election, understands that his next few appearances heading into the holiday weekend must go well, particularly an interview scheduled for Friday with George Stephanopoulos of ABC News and campaign stops in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
