    24-year-old man stabs wife to death with scissors in Ogun

    A 24-year-old man, Majiyagbe Olamilekan, has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his wife to death with a pair of scissors.

    The Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Wednesday said that the suspect was arrested following a distress call received by the police in Ode Remo divisional headquarters at about 3:00 pm.

    “It was reported that the suspect locked himself and his wife one Seun Mojiyagbe up in their room and started beating the wife. It was the wailing of the wife that attracted the neighbors, who made all efforts to persuade the suspect to open the door but he refused,” Oyeyemi said.

    He added that upon the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer, Ode Remo division, CSP Olayemi Fagbohun, quickly mobilised his men and moved to the scene where the door to the couple’s apartment was forced open. The victim was then found lying down unconscious in the pool of her own blood.

    “She was quickly rushed to the state hospital in Isara Remo where she was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.

    “The husband was promptly arrested and taken to custody, while the corpse of the victim has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy,” the statement read in part.

    The state Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole was said to have ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the homicide section of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation with the view to charge him to court as soon as possible.

    Nigerian singer Brymo has called out his colleague, 2Face Idibia on Twitter.

    In a series of tweets shared via his Twitter page on Monday, October 4, 2021, the music star recounted his ordeal in the hands of Idibia.

    According to him, Idibia accused him of sleeping with his wife.

    Brymo revealed that he was accused of sleeping with Idibia’s wife

    “In the very recent past, a man falsely accused me of sleeping with his wife and I’ve waited in angst, and the words were never taken back still, efforts were consistently made to prove I did it still and my soul has known no lasting peace ever since,” he tweeted.

    He went on to recount how he met 2Face Idibia at an event and how they had an awkward moment.

    “Weeks later I was lured into being hosted by a friend I had just met and after spending days getting high and philandering, I was asked if I would love to join an organisation, of which I responded ‘well I might want to accept but I do not subscribe to being battered,” he recounted.

    Brymo recounted how he was lured to a hotel and attacked by some touts.

    “I tried to truly forcefully open the gate stating that I was a guest of the hotel and didn’t need ID…four boys busted through the gates and launched an offense at me. I fought back and got a black eye.”

    Brymo said in his tweets, that he later found out that 2Face Idibia was the brain behind the attack.

    He said he confronted Idibia about the incident to which he obviously denied.

    The music star said he is being ridiculed by 2Face Idibia and appealed to him to desist from communicating with him or anyone close to him.

    Idibia is yet to react to the accusations levelled against him by Brymo.

    Popular singer, Iyanya has declared that he is ready to get married, adding that he is searching for a wife. The ‘Kukere’ artiste made this known in an interview with HipTv.

    The ‘Your waist’ singer debunked claims that he was married, but noted his search antenna has been activated to find a wife and not a girlfriend.

    Iyanya who was recently appointed the Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment to Cross River state Governor, Ben Ayade however, didn’t state if he is currently in any form of relationship or entanglement.

    He said: “I am not married. I’m searching o for a wife not a girlfriend. That’s where we at.”

    TheNewsGuru recalls that Iyanya, and Ubi Franklin recently reunited under Made Men Music Group (MMMG), their label.Back in 2016, Iyanya had left MMMG, a music company he co-founded with Franklin, after an dispute with his partner.

    Franklin took to his Instagram page on last Wednesday to announce their reunion under the brand after five years.

    “How time indeed flies, it has been 165.6M Secs, 2.8M minutes, 46K hours, 1916 days, 274 weeks, 63 months, 5 years since the resolution of the contract binding two resilient and hardworking parties that felt the need to give themselves time and grow independently,” he wrote.

    “These parties having explored life differently in the same niche, various spheres and found a defining purpose to their missions have collectively decided to come as one body to reckon with.

    “We appreciate the effort of friends, colleagues and well-wishers for the years of believing in our craft, supporting our purpose and encouraging our mission.

    A 57- year-old trader, Mrs Chima Udemi, told an Igando Customary Court in Lagos on Wednesday that her husband, Tobechukwu, was an unrepentant adulterer who has slept with her sister.

    Udemi was responding to a suit filed by Tobechukwu, who had accused her of infidelity when she stated this.

    “Tobechukwu is a serial womaniser, he sleeps with my younger sister and my friends.

    “He once abandoned me and our seven children and relocated to his mistress’ house.

    ”He is an irresponsible husband and father. I struggled, doing unpleasant jobs to feed my children.

    “He lives with me in the house I single-handedly built, eats my food, drinks my water and still frustrates my life.

    “If my husband insists on divorcing me, he should be ready to move out of my house,” she said.

    The mother of seven urged the court to grant her husband’s request for the dissolution of their marriage.

    “When I die, he should not come for my burial. And I can assure you that when he dies, I will never attend his burial,” she said.

    The petitioner, Tobechukwu, prayed the court to dissolve his 33-year-old marriage accusing wife of onfidelity.

    “My wife is having an affair with a man from her village. She also abandoned me and the children for 10 years.

    “She deserted her matrimonial home to unknown destination for 10 years, she just returned in 2020,” he said.

    After listening to both parties, the President of the Court, Mr Adeniyi Koledoye, directed the estranged couple to maintain peace.

    Koledoye adjourned the case until September 21 for further hearing.

    Uzoamaka Ohiri, ex-wife of comedian and actor, Chinedu Ani, a.k.a Nedu, has revealed that she did not deliberately give another man’s baby to her ex-husband.

    TheNewsGuru recalls that Nedu, over the weekend, stunned many when he posted a DNA test result which was signed by one Dr. Harvey Tenenbaum, president at Viaguard Accu-metrics, Ontario, Canada, on June 24, 2019.

    The document stated that the possibility of Nedu being the father of the child in question was zero percent.

    Uzoamaka had earlier accused ex-husband Nedu of domestic violence and wondered why he was still being allowed to host a radio programme on marriage.

    In a new development, Uzoamaka on Tuesday opened up on the drama trailing the paternity of her firstborn son.

    In her words: “I did not cheat on him from the first day he walked into my life till he left. I was never with any man. I can swear on it.

    “Before I met Nedu, I was seeing somebody; I was in a relationship; he was on the side, disturbing me.

    “There were a couple of times he had invited me to Lagos and this was my service year in 2012. He had invited me to Lagos a couple of times and I had turned him down.

    “When the three-year relationship ended, I said, ‘Okay, fine, let me see this guy.’

    “We met and he seemed like a cool person and I said let me give it a try and we started from there.

    “Along the line, I found out that I was pregnant. Trust me, if I knew that my first child was not for him, if I knew, I wouldn’t have, I can’t deliberately pick another man’s child and give to another man. If I knew, I wouldn’t have gotten married to him.

    “On my wedding day, I was pregnant, everybody saw it”. She told Punch.

    Drama as woman bites neighbour’s scrotum in Osun

    A 28-year-old woman, Nifemi Ajayi, has landed in trouble in Ile-Ife of Osun State for allegedly biting her neighbour’s scrotum.

    The police on Monday dragged Nifemi before an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court on one count of assault.

    The prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Osanyintuyi alleged: “On Aug 24, 2021, around 8:00 pm at No 21, Oke-Soda, Ile-Ife, Nifemi bite one Olayera Boluwaji on his scrotum and left side stomach, which caused him bodily harm.”

    He noted that the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 355 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

    The defendant told the court that she is not guilty of the alleged offence.

    The counsel, Mr Philip Fasanmoye made an oral bail application for the defendant on the most liberal term.

    However, the presiding magistrate, Olusola Aluko, ordered that he should file a former bail application.

    He remanded the defendant in Ile-Ife Correctional Center and adjourned the case to November 15, 2021, for consideration of bail

    Judge orders man to hug wife in court

    A Sharia Court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna State, on Tuesday ordered a man, Yusuf Maiwada, to hug his wife, Nafisa Jibril in court.

    The Judge, Nuhu Falalu said:”lack of affection from Maiwada prompted his wife to seek divorce”.

    The Judge also ordered him to give his wife money in the court.

    ”The court orders you to bring her and their three children back to his house and pay for their feeding in arrears,” he said.

    He adjourned the case until Sept. 9, for report of settlement and compliance of his orders by the defendant.

    Earlier, the complainant, Jibril in her petition sought divorce because he has failed to provide for the family.

    Jibril also alleged that Maiwada beat her and ordered her out of his house and to take her children along.

    A man identified as Bright Ben has taken to social media to accuse his pastor and the General Overseer of World Bank Assembly, Pastor Moses Adeeyo, of “snatching” his wife, Mrs Tina Bright nee Everest.

    Ben, who resides in Port Harcourt in a Facebook post, said he was a full financial member of the church alongside Tina.

    He said that Adeeyo had been there for them in the past when they had family issues but he was shocked to find out that he, the pastor, was behind his wife’s attitude.

    Ben alleged that trouble started after his wife was given an ‘appointment’ and she quietly moved out of the house with their children.

    He added that he had been searching for her and even called the Pastor to seek advice on the matter.

    Ben stated that he found out about his wife’s whereabouts on Sunday after seeing pictures of Adeeyo’s marriage to Tina.

    “ADULTERY… As shameful as it sounds, it is a true life story. MY PASTOR MARRIED MY WIFE. I’ve been married to Mrs Tina Bright for over 12 years with 2 kids, a girl and a boy. I married her traditionally and white wedding and took her to introduce to my Pastor Moses Adeeyo,” he wrote.

    “The General Overseer of World Bank Assembly in Eneka, Obio/Akpor LGA, Rivers State; We started attending the church and became full financial members.

    “My wife was given an immediate appointment seven months ago, she moved out of the house with our two kids before I got back from work. I searched everywhere and called everyone even the G.O. Unknown to me, he was the architect of my problems. After sometime he stopped picking my calls and blocked my phone line. I’ve been looking for her until I saw this pictures yesterday online.

    “He claimed that the Holy Spirit told him that she is his wife. Is the Holy Spirit and author of confusion? My wife of 12 years is now his. Please, couples, be careful about World Bank Assembly; be careful of Pastor MOSES ADEEYO.”

    Seven-month pregnant woman dumps husband over lack of respect

    A seven-month pregnant woman, Amina Usman, who dragged her husband Ibrahim Husseni to court was on Tuesday granted divorce due to” his lack of respect for her”.

    Usman in her petition alleged that there was no peace in her home because Husseni brings her down and embarrasses her.

    Delivering judgment, Justice Abubakar Tijjani of an Upper Area Court in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, granted Usman’s prayer.

    Tijjani ordered that a divorce certificate be issued them.

    In her petition, she said:” my husband vowed to disgrace and embarrass me.

    “He does not show me love or affection. I am willing to pay him the N50,000 dowry he paid to marry me”.

    She also begged the court to compel Husseni to provide for her until she delivers.

    Husseni, who is a businessman did not deny the allegation made by his wife.

    He prayed the court grant her request.
