  • Storm is over! COZA pastor, Fatoyinbo, wife jet out of Nigeria

Founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo and his wife, Modele are presently out Nigeria.

The pastor who is facing investigation over an alleged rape leveled against him by Busola Dakolo announced his trip abroad on his official Instagram handle with the caption, “After long hours of flight, we landed safe and sound. Thank You, Jesus! On another note, we miss y’all already”

Meanwhile, a source very close to the church told TheNewsGuru, TNG under the condition of anonymity that the duo had truly travelled out of Nigeria, though he refused to mention the country.

Recall that during the initial investigation it was widely reported in the media that detectives from the Force Criminal Investigation Department were said to have seized the international passport of the embattled pastor after conducting a search of his home and office.

Meanwhile, the last that was heard of the rape allegation case in the news was when Fatoyinbo told a Federal High Court in Bwari Abuja, to dismiss the suit filed against him by Busola, alleging rape in 2002.

He also asked that the court to award him N50m jointly and severally against the claimant and her solicitor.

Busola, wife of celebrity musician, Timi Dakolo, claimed Fatoyinbo raped her in 2002 in Ilorin when she was 17 years old.

The pastor in the counter-claim filed on his behalf by Dr. Alex Iziyon (SAN) branded Busola’s suit as frivolous and statute-barred.

Besides, he said the reliefs sought by the petitioner were not grantable.

In a 14-point affidavit in support of Fatoyinbo’s counter-suit, his Executive Senior Assistant, Ademola Adetuberu, said he was “aware that the claimant made an allegation of rape and emotional distress before the Nigeria Police Force against the defendant which is still a subject of investigation.”

According to the deponent, Mrs Dakolo and her lawyer after filing the suit, leaked the documents to both electronic and print media organisations, with the story widely shared on the internet “to embarrass and scandalise the defendant”.

Fatoyinbo prayed the court to award him N50m jointly and severally against the claimant and her solicitor

Aisha celebrates as rumours of Buhari marrying another wife spread

Nigeria’s First Lady Aisha Buhari on Friday joined millions of girls around the world to celebrate 2019’s international day of the girl child, even as rumours of President Muhammadu Buhari marrying another wife continues to spread across the nation.

TheNewsGuru (TNG) reports rumours emerged from the Aso Rock that Buhari will be getting married in a very quiet ceremony to Sadia Umar Farouq, the current Minister for Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management on Friday.

This is following the continued absence of the current First Lady, Aisha who has been out of the Presidential Villa since her trip to Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom (UK).

While sources at the Presidency has confirmed to DAILY POST that the news is fake, it has not stopped the rumours from spreading like wildfire.

Joining in talking about the rumours, Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan believes that it could be true that Buhari is taking another wife to replace Aisha.

In a series of tweets, Omokri stated, “2nd wife? Could that be why she has been in England all this time? Apparently, the second wife story is true.

“What cant be confirmed is the date of the wedding fatiha. This man shouldn’t tempt his Creator. He just recovered from serious ill health and now he wants to add another yarinya! Second Term, Second Wife! Baba o!

“Apparently, @THISDAYLIVE broke the story this Sunday, but few noticed. I didn’t know he had stamina like this. And he even gave the new yarinya post! I hope I am invited to the wedding Fatiha. A man who just recovered. Pray we dont hear stories that touch!

“When he said he was “working hard”, we thought it was government work. We did not know it was, let us just say extra curricular activities. Ha! Hard worker! Baba I hail o. Remember what happened to your mentor, Abacha? We don’t want stories that touch

“Queen Esther wants to take the place of Queen Vashti! We just hope that the incoming wife will not do what PEPT could not do o! We did not know that this was what he meant when he said #NextLevel! We pray this ‘hard work’ will not end in a London clinic!

“.@PaulKagame is working hard to make Rwanda GREAT and somebody here is working hard to make Nigeria’s population GREATER. And he will he lying to us that he is “working hard” for us.’. No wonder. The man has been unusually excited these days. Bedroom power!”

While First Lady Aisha did not touch on the rumours making the rounds in her statement to celebrate the 2019’s international day of the girl child, she expressed happiness in the progress being made in the area of activism by girls to protect their gender.

The statement reads: “Today, I join millions of girls around the world to celebrate this year’s international day of the girl child, the theme for this year is “GirlForce: Unscripted and Unstoppable”.

“I am happy to note the progress that has been made in the area of activism by girls to protect their gender. I want to state that more needs to be done especially to address gender based violence which seems to be more pronounced recently. All hands must be on deck to achieve this”.

Meanwhile, a source in the Presidency has confirmed to TNG under the condition of anonymity that President Buhari was not contracting any new marriage in whatever definition.

“It is fake news, ignore it. There is no wedding going on in Aso Villa, it is just one of the several mischievous schemes sponsored by Buhari’s critics who are trying to blackmail him because his wife is not in the country.

When TNG monitored the report on social media, we learnt that different hashtags for the purported wedding has been trending between number one to five on Twitter since Thursday.

#BUSA19, #BUSA2019, #TheWedding and Villa are some of the keywords that have been used loosely on Twitter to describe the purported wedding.

While the presidency is yet to officially address the issue, many Nigerians have since joined the conversation with most of them making fun of it.

Man cries out to IG over wife’s killing at check point

The husband of a 42-year-old mother of four, Mrs Grace Dabo, allegedly killed at Ovwian-Aladja in Delta on Saturday has cried out to the Inspector-General of Police to bring her killers to justice.
Mr Benjamin Dabo told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone on Tuesday that his wife was allegedly killed at a police check point at Ovwian Aladja.
He claimed that his 10-year-old daughter informed him how policemen at the check point stopped her mother and demanded the vehicle’s particulars of her Sienna 1999 model.
Dabo said that his daughter also informed him that his wife presented other papers of the vehicle but did not produce the factory fitted permit.
The bereaved husband added that the daughter told him that the policemen dragged her mother out of the car, while one of the officers allegedly drove the vehicle away.
He said that the girl added that her mother, while being dragged out, succeeded in removing her bag from the vehicle, and that she came down.
Dabo said that his daughter told him that shortly after, the police patrol van also left the scene known to be notorious for criminal activities.
“Left in the dark, a tricycle with two passengers came to the scene and we boarded.
“On the way, the occupants robbed my mum and shot her before pushing us down. Then I started crying and calling for help,” he quoted his daughter as saying.
He told NAN that his daughter said that another tricycle came and carried her mother to two hospitals where she was rejected as they claimed she was brought in dead.
“She informed me that it was at the second hospital that the tricycle operator requested for my phone number from her and called.
“After the briefing from my daughter, I took the corpse to the Ovwian Police Station, where I saw my wife’s vehicle parked and demanded to know what happened.
“There and then I decided to leave the corpse at the station,’’ Dabo to NAN.
“The killing of my wife at a check point of the police saddled with the responsibility of protecting life is unacceptable,’’ he said.
Dabo, who described his late wife as his pillar, wondered how he would cope with four children as the father and mother.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, said the woman was killed by suspected armed robbers.
She said that the husband told the DPO that his wife was shot dead by suspected robbers while she was going home in a tricycle with her daughter on July 20, at 7.20p.m.
“One Mrs Ughochukwu Grace Dabo was driving home in the company of her daughter, Oghenenyerhovwo, in her Toyota Sienna Space Bus Reg. No. AGL 822 EY.
“She was intercepted by a police patrol team at Igbiki Junction, Ovwian-Aladja.
“When she could not produce the vehicle documents on demand by the police, the vehicle was impounded and taken the police station for further investigation.
“The woman was left at the scene, having refused to go along with the policemen to the station,” the spokesman said in a statement sent to NAN.
She said that the deceased was robbed and shot dead by a three-man armed robbery gang operating with a tricycle, but her daughter escaped unhurt.
“She was able to narrate how her mother was killed by men of the underworld who are yet to be arrested.
“The commissioner of police regrets the unfortunate incident leading to the death of the deceased and commiserates with her family members,” she said.
Onovwakpoyeya, however, said that the command would investigate the role played by the policemen in the incident.
She gave the assurance that justice would be done.

I beat my wife due to infidelity, deception – man tells court

An Ibadan based commercial bus driver, Hakeem Yusuf, on Thursday told a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan, that he often beats his wife, Ronke, because of her alleged infidelity and deceptiveness.
Hakeem’s testimony was in response to his wife’s allegation of constant battery before Chief Ademola Odunade, the President of the court.
Hakeem, who consented to the divorce application filed by Ronke, alleged he married her 10 years ago, without an inkling “she is an empty barrel.
“My lord, Ronke and I were ordinary friends then before she systematically encouraged me to marry her.
“She lied to me that she was pregnant and I later found out that she had deceived me.
“Ronke is such an adulterous wife no man should never pray to have.
“I have trailed her to many scenes of her atrocities and she is a disgrace to womanhood.
“In fact, Ronke is currently married to our neighbor on the same street after she had deceived me into giving her money to buy milk and Maltina drink.
“Ronke never lacked anything in my house and I also gave her a means of livelihood as chemist shop owner,” Hakeem said.
In her earlier testimony, Ronke told the court that her husband was possessive and was found of monitoring her whereabouts within the community.
“The unnecessary suspicion Hakeem has against me is the reason why he usually beats me in spite of the fact that I have no child with him for the past 10 years.
“Hakeem is too troublesome, please, separate us,” Ronke pleaded with the court.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the duo resides at Fatusi area of Ibadan.
The court’s President held that since he had observed there was no more love between the couple, the best thing to do was to allow both of them go their separate ways “otherwise, there might be chaos since the marriage did not produce children.
