    BIZARRE! Man k!lls wife, eats body parts, uses skull as ashtray

    A Mexican man dubbed the ‘Cannibal of Puebla’ who allegedly killed his wife, ate her brain in tacos, and used her skull as an ashtray has been arrested in Mexico.

    The suspect, identified as Alvaro,32, was picked up at the couple’s home in Puebla on July 2 and taken into custody.

    He is accused of murdering his wife, a mother of five on June 29 while under the influence of a prohibited substance.

    Following the killing, Alvaro allegedly dismembered victim Maria Montserrat Animas Montiel’s body and placed her remains in plastic bags.

    He allegedly threw some of them into a ravine behind the home and kept the rest inside the property.

    According to sources close to the case, he confessed to eating part of his wife’s brain in tacos and using part of her shattered skull as an ashtray.

    Two days after the killing, he allegedly called one of his stepdaughters to confess his crime.

    The victim’s mother, Maria Alicia Montiel Serran, told local media: ‘He told one of her daughters to come and collect her mum because “I already killed her and put her in bags”.

    Grieving Maria Alicia added that Alvaro chopped up the 38-year-old victim’s body ‘with a machete, a chisel, and a hammer’. She went on: ‘I called him crying, asking why he did that to her if she wasn’t a bad person.’

    According to Maria Alicia, the suspect confessed: ‘I killed her, I cut her into pieces, and I threw her into the ravine in bags.’

    She added that he claimed: ‘She didn’t suffer.’

    Maria Montserrat married Alvaro less than a year ago. She had five daughters, aged 12 to 23. The youngest two lived with the couple and, they were subjected to violence and sexual harassment from Alvaro , according to their grandmother.

    Maria Alicia said: ‘He would spy on them while they showered, and my daughter, well, you know that out of love, she always sided with him.’
    The victim’s family says Alvaro – a builder – is a drink and drug addict and was often violent towards his wife.

    The family says the couple often posted about their worship of Santa Muerte on social media. The police reportedly found a black magic altar in their home.

    Maria Alicia said: ‘Drugs, he used them, and he snorted cocaine and everything. Well, I think he had mental problems because to do something like that…

    ‘He adored the one down below, well, I know because she had Santa Muerte tattooed on one of her colourful legs.’

    The victim’s family has not yet been able to lay Maria Montserrat to rest because the police are still searching for some of her remains, which also need to be DNA-tested.

    Her mother demanded: ‘Give her to me so that I can bury her and give her a proper send-off.

    ‘That’s what I want, and don’t let him go free because I believe no mother would want her daughter to be sent to her in pieces. I demand justice.’
    The Puebla Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the case.

    The police on Monday denied Seun Kuti’s wife right to deliver meal to her husband who is under police custody for assaulting a police officer.

    Counsel to Seun Kuti, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, SAN has given updates on the state affairs surrounding the detained musician.

    In the latest update, he said l: “Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin who goes by the formal title of Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, but apparently doubles as the Investigating Police Officer into the case of alleged assault of a policeman by my client, Mr. Seun Kuti, has issued a Report of his investigative work.

    ” Mr. Seun Kuti would have expected that having completed his investigative work, Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, a law enforcer, would proceed according to law by sending the file containing his report of investigation for legal evaluation towards possible prosecution.

    “Mr. Seun Kuti is nevertheless not surprised that Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin chose instead to make his investigative report the subject of media publication, as for instance, in the Punch online publication of Monday May 15, 2023 titled “Assault: Seun Kuti apologised, gave cop ₦‎12,000 to repair vehicle, police say”.

    “According to Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, in his investigative report handed over to The Punch:

    “Seun Kuti was the one that bashed the officer’s vehicle, and the policeman followed him to call his attention to it, but the musician alighted from his car and slapped the policeman as seen in the trending video. However, the officer reported the incident at the Police Command in Ikeja.”

    “The policeman was alone. After the altercation, he followed Seun Kuti to his home in Ikeja, and the musician apologised to the policeman and gave him ₦12,000 to repair his damaged vehicle.

    “But the officer reported the incident at the Area F Police Command in Ikeja, and deposited the ₦12,000 at the counter while he gave a written statement concerning the incident,”

    “Although he had been with the Police since 8:00am on Monday 15th May, 2023, Mr. Seun Kuti notes that it was at about 8:00pm that day, after Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin had already completed and published his investigative report above, that he was asked to make a statement to the Police at the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba.

    “Mr. Seun Kuti has therefore volunteered to his interlocutors a statement to the effect that since Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin has already done the investigation and issued and published his report on it, there was no useful purpose to be served by any statement from him. He will, at the right time and place, and in as rigorous a manner possible under the law, defend himself against Mr. Hundeyin’s published ‘investigative findings’.

    “The consequence of this for Mr. Seun Kuti was that his wife was refused the “privilege” of delivering a meal to him in the evening of Monday May 15, 2023, even though there was no other arrangement in place to have him fed.

    “We await the next move of the Police on the allegation of crime against Mr. Seun Kuti.

    Mrs Jane Nnamani, the wife of Nigeria’s former Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani has passed on.

    According to sources, she died in her early 60s after a minor surgery in Enugu.

    News of her demise spread in the State on Monday, a development that has thrown her entire Amaechi country home into mourning.

    Mrs Nnamani passed on at a time her husband, the former Senate President is reportedly out of the country. He is said to have travelled to the United States.

    Senator Nnamani is yet to make an official announcement on the development.

    A 42-year-old woman identified as Fatima Rahman has been remanded at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre over the alleged murder of her co-wife, Adizat, at her residence in Alejo Street, Ijede, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

    The suspect who is reportedly from Chad Republic was arraigned on Tuesday before Magistrate P. E Nwaka at a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Yaba on one count of murder.

    Rahman who was angry that her husband took a second wife had allegedly visited the pregnant woman under the guise that she is a nurse and went on to stab her dead.

    She was said to have been angry when she learnt that her husband had married another wife.

    The accused reportedly visited the pregnant woman in her residence under the guise of being a nurse and stabbed her to death.

    A neighbour of the deceased who saw her when she arrived at the residence raised the alarm after deep wounds were found on the deceased’s neck and head.

    According to the prosecutor, Thomas Nurudeen, the defendant committed the offence on April 9, 2023, around 12.40pm at 43, Alejo Street, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

    The charge read, “That you, Fatima Abdul Rahman, on April 9, 2023, around 12.40 pm, at 43, Alero Street, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State in the Lagos Magisterial District did unlawfully kill one Adizat Abdul Rahman, 28-year-old, by stabbing her with a knife and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 222 and punishable under Section 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.”

    The prosecutor prayed the court to remand the defendant to a custodial centre pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution.

    Granting the request, Nwaka remanded her to the Ikoyi Custodial Centre pending legal advice.
    Nwaka also adjourned the case till May 25, 2023, for trial.

    A divorce-seeking woman, Temilade Rasheed, on Wednesday told a Mapo Grade ‘A’ Customary Court in Ibadan that her husband, Adeboye Rasheed hates her for  giving birth to three girls.

    Temilade in her testimony before the court, while seeking dissolution of her marriage, urged the court to grant her application for divorce.

    ”My in-laws are pushing my estranged husband to leave me for producing three girls and one boy.

    “My lord, Rasheed no longer loves me because I gave birth to three girls. After my girls were born, he threw me like garbage and married another wife.

    “The only one Rasheed caters for is my fourth child, who is a male,” Temilade said.

    The petitioner further stated that her husband has turned her into a punching bag.

    She told the court that he has been responsible for the welfare of the three children.

    Temilade consequently prayed the court to grant her custody of all the children but to order Rasheed to be responsible for their upkeep.

    The Court President, Mrs S.M. Akintayo,  adjourned the suit until May 26 for the respondent to open his defence.

    Joshua Ajagunigbala and Rita’s 22-year marriage was dissolved by an Ekiti State Customary Court in Ado Ekiti due to irreconcilable problems, most notably infidelity.

    Following charges that his wife had been promiscuous, most recently with a well-known herbalist in Ikere-Ekiti, the state’s capital and the location of Ikere Local Government Area, the pastor sought a divorce and went to court to do so. The marriage had produced four children and was blessed with the couple’s attention.

    The herbalist, Kehinde Fadayomi (Ejiogbe), was thought to have passed away from magun (thunderbolt) on January 2, 2023, after having sex with the cleric’s wife in a hotel.

    The cleric in a petition pleaded with the court to dissolve their union on the accounts of adultery and also pleaded for the custody of their children.

    The petitioner in his evidence stated that he did not pay the respondent’s dowry, adding that they had both lived together for more than 22 years.

    He added that this would be the third time he would drag his wife to court on the grounds of adultery.

    Joshua stated that the respondent in 2017 had an illicit affair with an herbalist called Ifadayomi AKA Ejiogbe who is now late.

    He gave evidence on how the man died on the respondent while having sex in a hotel in Ikere-Ekiti on 2nd of January, 2023 which led to thugs destroying his house and his church at Ikere.

    Joshua was equally suspended by his church authority.

    The petitioner as a result of these stated that he was no longer interested in the union and pleaded with the court to dissolve it and grant him custody of their children.

    Delivering his judgement, the court president, Joseph Oyedele, said there was no legal customary marriage between the two, declaring that both were, therefore, free to go their separate ways.

    He said: “Having gone through all the oral evidence presented before this court, it was discovered that there was no legal customary marriage between the parties and as such there was no marriage to be dissolved.

    The court here-by declare that both parties are now free to go their different ways and maintain peace.”

    Oyedele, however, ordered that the petitioner take full responsibility for the welfare and education of the last two children because they are still minor.

    “On the issue of the custody of the children, the court can only give order on the last two children of their marriage because they are yet to reach the age of maturity. The first two children are free to decide with whom they want to live between the two parties because they are no longer minor.

    “However, the court orders that the last two children of the union are to be with the petitioner and he should be responsible for their welfare and education.”

    He paid glowing tribute to his late wife who he described as best friend, mother, wife, sister and companion.

    “Her burial will be held in Canada in accordance with her preference on a date to be determined by the family.

    Ex-Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has explained why his wife was buried in the US instead of her ancestral home town in Nigeria.

    TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) recalls the former Abia First Lady and ex wife of former Abia state governor and current Senate Chief Whip, Late Mrs Ifeoma Ada Kalu who died early this month was on Wednesday buried in the United States of America.

    The former Governor had the previous day held an open casket viewing ceremony for the late wife at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, North Carolina, in the United States of America (USA).

    He was seen with his children and family members in black outfit to mourn the demise of their dear wife and mother at the age of 61.

    Paying tribute to the former Abia State First Lady during the funeral at New Home AME Zion Church in South Carolina, Kalu said the decision to bury her in the US was made by Ifeoma when she was alive.

    He said: “My Lord Bishop, I want to thank you for holding this mass today. This is her chosen church, because I am a Catholic; my children are also Catholics. We would have buried her in a Catholic Church but this is what she wanted. She told her children that when she dies, she should be buried here. This is why we are here. We would have flown her back to Nigeria. People in our villages are fighting us why we didn’t bring her corpse home, but we shall overcome all like we’ve done in the past,” the emotional Kalu stated.

    Ifeoma Ada Kalu (Nee Menakaya) and Orji Uzor Kalu got married in December 1989 in Kalu’s hometown Igbere, Abia State.
