WITCH: Court sentences man to death by hanging

Justice Agnes Onyebueke of a High Court sitting in Akamkpa, Cross River, has sentenced to death by hanging a man, Ayanime Udo, for killing his twin daughters whom he accused of being witches.

Justice Onyebueke, who delivered judgement on the matter with suit number HK/6C/2018, stressed that Udo’s act was satanic, demonic, and beyond human comprehension.

The judge ruled that the defendant had willfully and gruesomely murdered his 11-year-old twins, Mfoniso Anyanime and Emediong Anyanime, in 2017 after calling them witches.

When cross-examined, the middle age defendant could not defend his allegation of witchcraft against the 11-year old female children he had allegedly given a malt drink mixed with acid from his motorcycle.

After drinking the malt, one of the twins died on the spot on January 10, 2017, while the second was said to have crawled to the road where a kindhearted person picked and took her to the hospital where she died the following day.

The incident was first reported in February 2017.

  • If your husband’s life does not appreciate after marriage, you’re a witch – Pastor Funke Adejumo

If your husband’s life does not appreciate after marriage, you’re a witch – Pastor Funke Adejumo

Popular preacher, Pastor Funke Adejumo has averred that any woman whose husband’s life doesn’t appreciate after marriage is a witch.

Adejumo said this while speaking to a group of women. She urged them to make their own money and stop depending on their husbands for everything.

The cleric added that they shouldn’t spend all their time “popping out babies” instead they should get something doing so they can join their husbands in paying the bills.

“Don’t be a drag or liability. If your husband’s life doesn’t appreciate after marriage, you’re a witch. Some of you are just sitting down, pumping out children, and doing nothing. No man wants a liability in his life.

“The number of children you have is the number of properties you should have so they won’t curse your memory.

“We’re binding the devil but there are things we need to tell ourselves as women. Stand up and take your place!”

  • How God used a witch to save my life – Pastor Adeboye

How God used a witch to save my life – Pastor Adeboye

General Overseer (Worldwide) of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has disclosed how God used a witch to save his life when he was young.

Adeboye, in a Thanksgiving and Prophetic Declaration Service at the church national headquarters, Throne of Grace Parish in Ebute-Meta, Lagos, narrated that God used the witch to stop him from eating kola nut which would have led to his death.

In a sermon entitled: “God Loves Me” the clergyman attributed his continued survival to God’s faithfulness and love.

According to the former lecturer, “I was telling my children that whenever we wanted to study at night while we were young, we used kola nut as our own coffee as we did not have money to buy coffee. We ate the kola nut to stay awake.

One day, the number one self confessed witch in our compound, called me and said: “Dejare, why won’t you stop eating kola nut?

The witch warned me to desist from what can lead to my death. I think God spoke through the witch and I can say God loves me.

You are alive today not because you are clever, wise or know how to do it but simply because God loves you. There are lots of people who are in the prison who are free. I was at the Kirikiri Prison where I heard testimonies that brought tears to my eyes.

Some of them said they were in prison but they are free men because they have Jesus; they were incarcerated but they are free. And there are people who are outside the prison who are prisoners.

It is because God loves you that you are able to conquer all that the devil threw at you last year. Left for the enemy you, will not be here today but because God loves you, you are more than conqueror.”
