Anambra govt arrests woman for planning to sell 2 sons for N2m

Anambra government has arrested a 38-year-old woman for attempting to sell her nine-year-old and seven-year-old sons for N1 million each.

Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo, told newsmen on Wednesday in Awka that the woman’s eldest daughter, a 17-year-old, was also arrested for being part of the scheme.

Obinabo said the accused and her eldest daughter were arrested when she (the commissioner) posed as a potential buyer of the boys after she got the hint of the transaction.

“I heard about the transaction and decided to pose as a buyer. The suspect told me she would sell the boys at the sum of N2 million but after serious negotiations, she settled for N1.8 million.

“The culprits stay at Okija in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state, but we lured them to Awka to seal the transaction and they were eventually arrested.

“The state government condemns this kind of act and will continue to intensify efforts to eradicate such crimes.

“The suspects will be handed over to the police and will be prosecuted accordingly,’’ she said.

Fielding questions from newsmen, the suspect, an indigene of Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra, said she decided to sell the two boys because of economic hardship.

She said she has 11 children, but could not afford to cater for them, hence her decision.

“I had only two kids before the death my husband and had the other nine children for other men. Ever since, it has been difficult to adequately care to and support them.

“This is my first attempt. I only developed interest in the business of selling children after my neighbour successfully sold one of her kids.

“I planned to do the business alongside my eldest daughter because the money will also be used to advance her tertiary education,’’ she said.

After the suspect fielded the questions, the commissioner ordered that her other children be taken into the state government’s custody for proper care.

Obinabo said that plans were underway to arrest the suspect’s neighbour after which contact tracing would follow to retrieve the child she sold.

A woman known for her extreme height has died at the age of 23.

Xiao Mo of Shaoyang, China, stood 7.5ft tall and boasted more than 152,000 followers on video social media platform Douyin.

She reportedly died on January 15 after succumbing to complications from a cold she had recently caught.

Mo was popular on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, for her videos documenting her daily life, and was sometimes referred to as “Hunan’s No. 1 Giantess”, local media reports.

She was four centimetres taller than NBA star Yao Ming.

She is said to have had a difficult upbringing, having been abandoned by her mother and raised by her grandparents.

According to Chinese media, Mo suffered a range of underlying health conditions, such as heart and sight issues, which were connected to her extreme height.

She was reportedly cremated – and it is believed her father, who she did not have a good relationship with, is yet to collect her ashes from the crematorium.

Her shock passing devastated her followers.

One Douyin user said online: “Have a good trip Xiao Mo. I hope you’ll be a healthy girl with loving parents in your next life.”

Someone else commented: “She and my sister were classmates in elementary school, and later in junior high school, because she was too tall and in poor health, she stopped studying.

“My sister said that she was a very good person, always helping her classmates and being very easy to get along with.”

Although Mo was thought by some to be the world’s tallest woman, the tallest is in fact Rumeysa Gelgi of Turkey.

Rumeysa became the world’s tallest woman when she turned 18 and stands 7.7ft tall, according to Guinness World Records.

The 25-year-old was born with the rare Weaver syndrome, a genetic condition that causes bone overgrowth, which is the reason for her height and a number of medical issues she suffers, including scoliosis.

The first time mother who was delivered of the babies at 30 weeks through Caesarean Section, said she was actually expecting
quintuplets, only to find out during delivery that there were six babies.

Recounting her experience, she said that she got married on April 3, 2010 like every other person and expected to start having babies immediately.

“However, since then it has not been easy. We expected children but they were not forthcoming; we went to many places and spent money but no results so we just accepted to wait for God’s time.

“God in His infinite mercy visited us, and here we are today, God has changed the story.”

The happy mother said that within the 13 years she spent expecting a child, she and her husband, a pastor with Living Faith Church, Chikara in Kogi State, the family spent a lot of money that yielded no result.

She explained that “when you spend money on something and it is not forthcoming, it is very frustrating. My husband and I spent money on medications and kept asking people for suggestions, and went to many places without success.

“It was as if it would never happen, but God turned it around.”

She said this was the first time she tried IVF, and that she started the procedure at Fertile Ground Hospital, Jos, and continued at the National Hospital, Abuja, when she was four months into the pregnancy, and was there till delivery.

Speaking about the pregnancy, she said it was not easy, as it took a huge toll on her.

She said “I have been hearing about pregnancies before; I had two miscarriages, but this one, many things started happening from the second week.

“I knew this one was unique, so I was just enduring. The first three months was not funny, I had relief in the fourth month and after that, it was tedious and not easy at all.

“People that visited me about a month ago saw what I was going through. At a point I was impatient to deliver so that I could rest.

“The last two weeks before delivery was the climax of it all, I could not sleep, sitting down, standing, lying down were all not easy.

“However I was encouraged by Dr Bello. The last week he encouraged me to go another one week before delivering the babies and I am glad I did because we did not even know that there was an extra baby.”

The sextuplets mother said she could hear the doctors, while performing the CS saying “it’s like there is another one and actually there was.”

Ifeanyi advised other women in the situation she was before to trust God as there is nothing He cannot do.

She, however, said that the family needs assistance to take care of the children.

“I need assistance because when we saw the results for the first time, we did not know it would be this number, we know the number of children we asked God for but He gave us six.

“Please we need assistance both financially and otherwise,” she said.

Meanwhile, Ifeanyi said her husband is also happy to receive the babies, as doctors keep watch and continue to observe the babies.

Popular Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke has said a lady must be be smart for him not to think about s3x when she visits his home for a movie date.

The Nollywood star in a recent interview with Toke Makinwa, was asked about his dating preference between fine dining and movie dates. In response, the actor chose the latter and said “you must pay”.

His statement prompted Makinwa to inquire about the nature of the payment.

Iyke thereafter said men have certain expectations when a woman visits them, and women are aware of these expectations.

He said it is up to the woman to decide whether to fulfill these expectations or offer alternatives that would still satisfy the man’s desires.

He added that it would only take a “super smart” woman to prevent him from having sexual thoughts during a movie night at his place.

“Something brought you to the house. Before you got to that house, you knew what was going to happen. Do not come and bring modernity into it, you must collect.

“At the end of the day, the man has a certain expectation, the woman also understands that the man has certain expectations.

“It is now left to the woman to meet those expectations or not. She can also somehow play up to it by offering certain alternatives.

“You better be super smart for me not to think sexually when you spend the whole night watching movies with me.”

  • Woman nabbed for selling book on how to dupe sugar daddies

Woman nabbed for selling book on how to dupe sugar daddies

Mai Watanabe, a young self-proclaimed scammer, was arrested for selling how-to guides on defrauding ‘sugar daddies’ through paid dating.

25-year-old Watanabe, who hails from Nagoya, Japan, was arrested in August for selling a number of dating scam manuals to her social media followers,
featuring titles like ‘Textbook for Sugar Babies: The Right Profile and Magical Words to Make Men Pay,’ these books went into great detail about the right way to approach vulnerable middle-aged men and get as much money from them as possible.

One of these controversial guidebooks taught readers to tell their sugar daddies that they had had an unhappy childhood, in order to gain their sympathy and open their pockets.

Other tactics included lying that they were unable to work due to ill health and that they urgently needed help to pay rent.

According to sources from the Naka Police Department, Watanabe started selling her scamming manuals last year, for prices between 10,000 yen ($67) and 20,000 yen ($134), with private lessons available for an additional fee. Japanese media reported that the young woman managed to sell around 2,000 copies of her books before being arrested.

Police started investigating Watanabe after arresting a 20-year-old woman who they believe managed to swindle a total of 10.65 million yen ($72,000) from two men in Aichi Prefecture using tactics from Watanabe’s books. The author, who goes by “Itadakijoshi Riri-chan (Riri the Sugar Baby),” online, admitted to the allegations, saying she knew that she was helping her customers commit fraud.

But just how good of a sugar daddy swindler was Mai Watanabe? One would have to consider themselves an expert in order to sell a manual on the practice, right? Well, it turns out that the 25-year-old woman was a seasoned ‘papa katsu’ (paid dating) master. In September, Japanese newspaper The Mainichi reported that she had been accused of swindling 27 million yen (approximately $182,500) from a 50-year-old man by telling him that she had borrowed money from an acquaintance to open her own apparel shop and that she was going to have to sell her body at a brothel to pay them back.

Last month, The Mainichi published new accusations against Mai Watanabe, this time from a 54-year-old man who claimed to have transferred a total of roughly 117 million yen (about $780,000) to Riri the Sugar Baby.

  • After removing all my teeth with heavy punches, my husband took a 2nd wife

After removing all my teeth with heavy punches, my husband took a 2nd wife

A woman has narrated to the court how her husband removed almost all her teeth with punches then married another wife.

Mrs Mutiya Sulaimon, gave this narrative against her husband, Aliu Sulaimon, whom she accused of irresponsibility, neglect and constant battery.

She said: “My husband turned our home into a boxing arena. He punched me regularly and made my life bitter.

“He deserted me after he removed almost all my teeth with his punches and got married to another woman.”

These, among others, were the evidence given by a woman, Mutiya Sulaimon, against her husband, Aliu Sulaimon.

Mutiya sought divorce and custody of their children in a case she brought before Grade A Customary Court, Oja Oba, Ibadan, Oyo State.

She begged the court to make her husband responsible for the upkeep of their children, giving feeding, education and health care priority.

Aliu pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.

Mutiya said: “My lord, I never enjoyed a moment of my marriage to my husband.

“He never showed me love or attention. We were always at loggerheads and would end up fighting.

“Aliu would sometimes fight and tear my clothes in public, not caring that people were watching.

“He once beat me to a pulp on the street and pulled off my teeth with his deadly blows.

“Blood gushed out of my mouth as my teeth flew out and I cried out in pain.

“I moved to my parents’ house after he beat and almost killed me.

“My husband refused that I returned to his house after our differences were resolved.

“He distanced himself from everything that has to do with me and our children in other that he might escape the financial demands of our upkeep.

“Aliu got married to another woman after leaving me almost totally toothless.

“He completely abandoned his duty towards our children the moment he took another wife.

“He consistently neglected our children’s education while my parents have been helpful all the way. They have been partly responsible for our children’s feeding and education.

“I got fed up with his lackadaisical attitude towards our children’s welfare and demanded that he should be up to his responsibility.

“My husband started giving our children who are presently teenagers N150 each for food per day, and the youngest, N100.

“Our first child is through with secondary school education and wants to further his education, but my husband has refused to be forthcoming which is one of the reasons I came to court.

“I pray the court to dissolve our union and grant me custody of our children.

“I further plead that my husband be made responsible for our children’s welfare.

“I pray the court to mandate him to give our children a reasonable feeding allowance every month and pay their school fees as and when due.”

The court president, Mrs. S.M Akintayo, adjourned the case.

Lottery: Court orders divorced woman to give estranged husband entire N1.5 billion

Court has ordered a woman who ended her marriage after winning N1.5 billion to give the entire money to her estranged husband.

The woman, Denise Rossi, who resides in the US had no other choice than to surrender her N1.5 billion lottery prize to her former husband after she hid the money from him during their divorce.

Denise won the jackpot 11 days before she filed for divorce from Thomas Rossi, her husband of 25 years.

During the divorce process, she refrained from telling him or the court about her winnings and hoped to keep them for herself.

However, her plan backfired when a letter from a company that paid lottery winners was mistakenly sent to Thomas’s apartment two years after their divorce.

Thomas was shocked to discover that his ex-wife had won N1.5 billion in the California State Lottery and had been receiving N25 million every year.

He sued her for violating the state’s asset disclosure laws and for acting fraudulently and maliciously.

A Los Angeles family court judge agreed with Thomas and awarded him all of Denise’s lottery money.

The judge noted that Denise could have kept half of the money if she had been honest from the start
