    WWE Star, John Cena announces date for retirement

    WWE star John Cena has announced date for retirement from in-ring competition.

    The 16-time world champion while appearing  at WWE Money in the Bank in Toronto, Canada, announced that he will retire from the sport next year 2025.

    According to the Wrestling star, Cena announced that the 2025 Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas would be his last.

    Donning a ‘John Cena Farewell Tour 2025’, the WWE legend said, “I’ve been in the WWE for over two decades and in that time, I’ve seen incredible waves of prosperity like we got right now. WWE is the hottest ticket in town, no doubt, but I have also seen true hardship, that’s when no one knows your name, nobody wants to be your friend and only the most dedicated and hardcore fans stand by your side.”

    He added that he wants to be involved when Raw moves to Netflix in January.

    Cena made his WWE debut in 2002. However, since 2018, he has adopted a more part-time role in the company to focus on his movie career.

    Nigerian born WWE wrestler, Omos reveals where he grew up in Nigeria

    Popular Nigerian WWE professional wrestler Tolulope Omogbehin known in the ring as Omos has visited Nigeria 10 years after leaving its shores.

    The heavily built wrestler shed more light on his Nigerian background after paying his family a surprise visit in their Alapere home on November 7, 2022.

    Already, pictures and video clips of Omos surprising his family members who have been abroad for 14 years has gone viral on social media with fans and supporters of the superstar applauding him for returning to his roots.

    Omos who attended a WWE Press conference in Lagos on Tuesday, for the announcement of “The Search for Africa’s Next WWE Superstar”, at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, revealed to reporters how and where he grew up in Lagos.

    He said, “I grew up in Ketu, Alapere which is just down the street….I went to Maryland private school…This is my home,” he said.

    “As a young player in Nigeria, I was training with Raptors Basketball Club at the National Stadium, Lagos, and to also let you know that I schooled in Lagos too.”

    ” I attended Maryland schools in Lagos”

    Raptors Basketball Coach, Charles Obiakor while confirming the 400-pound, 7’3”-tall wrestler trained in his academy expressed joy that the former cry baby as he used to call Omos expressed joy that the WWE star recognized the role basketball played in his career.

    However, Omos Nigerian story didn’t get to many as a  surprise having constantly shown his self-awareness in the rings by often expressing himself in the local Pidgin language as well as his native language Yoruba.

    Known as the WWE’s Nigerian giant and standing at an incredible 7ft. 3 inches, Omos has managed to establish himself as one of the most intimidating superstars in the industry.

    In March 2021, he debuted on television at Wrestlemania 37, defeating the New Day (Koffi Kingston and Xavier Woods) alongside AJ Styles for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

    He also fought last weekend at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia against Braun Strowman in a battle of the WWE giants.

    However, despite the loss, Omos has left the door open for a very much-needed rematch against the self-acclaimed ‘Monster among Men’
