    Effyzie records artiste, Yemi Alade has joined the league of artistes angry over the state of the nation.

    The Johnny singer recently took to her Twitter page to condemn the Federal Government’s purported probe of Big Brother Nigeria. Instead, she advises the government to focus on solving the real issues and stop running away from the problems.

    Recall that the likes of M.I , Ruggedman and 2face had earlier in the week complained about the dire state of the economy. Is a massive protest similar to Occupy Naija about to take place? Only time will tell.

    Rihanna is a mid tempo makossa tune with the right groove and melody capable of ruling the African music landscape.

  • Flavour, Yemi Alade to perform at Big Brother Nigeria opening night

    The much anticipated Big Brother Nigeria reality TV show will kick off in grand style tonight January 22, 2017. Nigerian music superstars, Yemi Alade and Flavour will perform at the grand event which will reveal 12 contestants and start the 78-day reality series. The show will begin with a 2-hour live televised launch and end on April 9, 2017 with another 2-hour live televised finale.

    There will be a total of 12 housemates, but unlike its counterpart Big Brother Africa, Big Brother Nigeria will have no shower hour.

    The winner of Big Brother Nigeria will go home with the prize money of 25 million Naira and a brand new KIA Sorento car.

    The Jagagban rapper advises rappers to be hardworking and be patient in the pursuit of their dreams.

    “As a rapper in Nigeria you have to be very patient because rap is something that is growing gradually. As an artiste you have to be patient, trust in God and be hardworking . One good song is not enough for you anymore. You just have to keep working.”

    Self proclaimed Mama Africa, Yemi Alade started the year with a slight fire burn that put her in a reflective mood. The Afro-pop artiste had a frying pan burn that gave a blister.

    She took to her Snapchat platform to express how she feels. According to her:”There is no telling what victims of fire accidents suffer#Fryingpanburn. May the lord comfort you” . #Fireaccidentvictims.

     

    Her post however generated mixed reactions.

    Nigerian songstress, Yemi Alade who is one of the biggest artistes of 2016 has been invited by the organizers of the reputable Grammy Awards. The Johnny crooner will be attending its 59th edition.

    The singer got the invite via email and she is expected to be at the event holding on February 12, 2017 . The event will be held at Staples Centre, Los Angeles, California.

    The songstress has clinched MAMA Awards “Female Artiste of the Year” back to back in 2015 and 2016. She also got a MOBO Awards nomination, BET Awards nomination and several others. Yemi owned 2016 no doubt.

    This year, she released songs like If I start to talk, Standing ovation and graced some of the biggest music stages in the world.

    Tiwa also inked a management deal with Roc Nation. Against all odds, she keeps her eyes focused on her goals. Many won’t forget how she stole the show at the recent Sunny on Sunday concert held in honour of King Sunny Ade.

     

    4.Simi

    Simi further showed us the stuff she is made of in 2016.Jamb Question, Soldier, her collaboration with Falz quickly launched her into the A-list realm of leading Nigerian songstress.

    The X3m singer’s name will undoubtedly be written in gold when it comes to her 2016 giant strides. Simi also got her first major continental feature in Coke Studio. We cannot talk about Simi without making reference to the chemistry she shares with Falz. This year, the duo released an EP titled Chemistry.

     

    1. Niniola

    From Shaba to J’ete , Niniola has mastered her afrocentric style which her fans gladly relish .

    Her recent performance at the Sunny on Sunday concert will remain indelible in the minds of those who attended the event. Nini who has done collaborations with Seyi Shay and EDM continues to soar making people ask where she has been all this while. At this year’s AFRIMA awards, she won the award for West African Collaboration (mbilo mbilo remix)

    She has also been nominated for the Headies Next rated category

    6 .Aramide

    Aramide pours her heart into her music. She sings like a suitor ready to win the heart of his bride. So at the just concluded AFRIMA Awards, Aramide further won my heart when she clinched the award for Best Female Artiste, West Africa. A lot of people are of the opinion that she doesn’t deserve it because she isn’t exactly a mainstream artiste like the Tiwa Savage’s or Yemi Alade’s.

    Her Funmi Lowo song is also one of the biggest songs of 2016. At AFRIMA 2016, she won the award for the Best Female Artiste West Africa .All hail queen Aramide
