    Controversial Cameroonian-born singer Reprudencia Sonkey professionally known as Dencia, has labeled her colleague, Yemi Alade, a village girl.

    TheNewsGuru recalls that Dencia once slammed Alade who had mentioned her as one of the artistes that should quit music back in 2016.

    In a new development on Thursday, Dencia extended her greetings and subtle condemnation to Nigerians.This included the failed government, protesters, Nigerians activists, and those who had faulted her singing career for the past twenty-five years.

     

    According to the ‘Whitenicious’ singer, she sends greetings and God’s blessing to everyone except those she criticized.

    Yemi Alade, a Nigerian pop star has averred that she hopes to impact her generation with her music.

    The award winning singer whose hit song ‘Johnny’ has 128 million YouTube views as at the time of filing this report, made this known in an interview.

    According to her:” I am hoping to impact my generation and the next one with my music and whatever means I can”.

    Asked if she has plans to sign any female artiste, she said:”My life -long dream is to sign five to ten female artistes, but where are they and when will they be ready for this”?

    TheNewsGuru recalls that Yemi Alade and Patoranking recently made headlines when the former played the latter’s love interest in a music video.

    The less than four-minute video sees the ‘Abule’ singer crooning about the depth of his love for his woman (Alade) and his determination to go any length just to make her happy.

    As the video progresses, the duo tied the knot at a decorated wedding where they further reiterated their affection for one another.

    “You change me to brand new. You show me love that I never knew. Oh my morning dew. I can’t stop thinking of you. Girl you set me on fire. You take my love eh go higher. You alone me desire. Eh wòn nì ķò mò gbè sire…,” Patoranking could be heard singing.

    Afro-pop singer, Yemi Alade has stated that she unknowingly ignored Beyonce for two months.

    According to her, her management was in charge of her emails and they had no idea why she received the email incessantly.

    It was on the manager mentioning “email from parkwood” that she realized that it was Beyonce.

    She said: “We thought it was a scam email… I wasn’t the one receiving the emails, my management was and the thing is that, you have to be a crazy beyond fan like me to know her company’s name is “Parkwood”, So you’re getting emails from “Parkwood” about a collaboration with Beyoncé?!…

    “My manager was telling me that he keeps getting these messages from Parkwood. He sounded very irritated and he was thinking of maybe blocking the email… and I asked him what did you say? Did you say “Parkwood?” I said (screams) that is Beyoncé!!!!…”

    On how long it took for them to actually respond to the email, Yemi Alade said: “It took a while.. we were at the end of the collection like.. they’ve been working on this for a while, maybe a month or two.

    “ I think even someone at some point came to Nigeria and they were trying to meet me but you know how some people are, they don’t want some people to meet some people.”

    Immediately after learning of her manager’s mistake, the singer immediately boarded a plane to Las Vegas and made her way to Beyoncé’s studios.

    “I had no idea what was coming. When we were done with the meeting, I went back to my apartment. I just woke up the next morning I couldn’t talk, definitely could not sing. I had no voice, I pushed and I got something out of it,” she noted.

    TheNewsGuru recalls that Yemi Alade was featured as a guest artist on Beyonce’s “Black Is King” visual album, a sequel to the 2019 “Lion King: The Gift” album.

    While it may turn out to be another music video scene, popular Nigeria music stars, Patoranking and Yemi Alade are keeping their fans guessing about what they could be up to in a new set of pictures released on their social media platforms.

    The duo have been trending on social media following the viral pictures of what looked like a traditional wedding ceremony.

    In the pictures, Patoranking was clad in a brown native attire while Alade wore a flowing brown dress as they both beamed with delight looking into each other’s eyes like a newly-wedded couple.

    They both walked down the aisle holding hands and living their fans with so much to talk about.

    While it is believed to be a music video shoot, their fans are already getting frenzy and are asking questions about what could be going on between them.

    Both Alade and Patoranking appear to be enjoying the buzz the pictures are creating for them as none of them has come out to explain what the pictures are all about.

    Popular singer, Yemi Alade has opened up on how the public condemned American actor Chadwick Boseman following his sudden weight loss.

    The singer made this known in a tweet on Saturday.

    According to the ‘Tangerine’ singer, social media users tend to scorn people not knowing exactly what they are passing through.

    Yemi tweeted: “A lot of people on social media mocked Chadwick Boseman because of his ‘sudden weight lose’ not knowing he was battling stage iv Cancer! Can we be kinder with our words today? You don’t know what people are going through. Don’t be the mouth piece of the Devil.”

    Chadwick Boseman died on Friday after battling with colon cancer for four years.

    Nigerian artiste, Yemi Alade has been listed among the musicians across the world to perform at the ‘Global Goal: Unite For Our Future – The Concert’.

     

    The globally televised and live-streamed special is staged by Global Citizen and the European Commission as part of their commitments to the fight against COVID-19.

     

    Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is expected to host the show on June 27, which is aimed at raising billions of dollars in private and public donations to help lessen the impact of the pandemic on those living in extreme poverty and communities facing discrimination.

    Global Citizen and the European Commission on Monday announced Global Goal: Unite for Our Future – The Concert, with the aim of ensuring that no one is left behind in the global fight to tackle COVID-19,” read a statement by the organisers.

     

    “The concert, which will premiere on Saturday, June 27, is a globally televised and digitally streamed special that will highlight the disproportionate impact COVID-19 has on marginalized communities — including people of color, those living in extreme poverty, and other communities facing discrimination.

     

    “Hosted by Dwayne Johnson, the concert will feature performances by Chloe x Halle, Christine and the Queens, Coldplay, J Balvin, Jennifer Hudson, Justin Bieber and Quavo, Miley Cyrus, Shakira, Usher, and Yemi Alade.

     

    “Chris Rock, Hugh Jackman, Kerry Washington, Charlize Theron, Forest Whitaker, David Beckham, Salma Hayek Pinault, Billy Porter, Diane Kruger, Antoni Porowski, Ken Jeong, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Olivia Colman are expected to make appearances at the show.”

     

    Alade has also taken to her Twitter page to confirm her participation in the event, stating that it was “time to fight for the world we want”.

    The show is also geared towards encouraging the governments, private sector and philanthropists to make commitments to more equally distributed COVID-19 tests and vaccines.

    Nigerian pop star, Yemi Alade has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointment of Ibrahim Gambari as his new chief of staff.

    Gambari’s appointment had followed the passing of Abba Kyari, former chief of staff, who breathed his last on April 17, after suffering complications from COVID-19.

    Several Nigerians had taken to the social media to express their diverse views on the appointment of the professor of political science as Kyari’s replacement.

    ‘Mama Africa’ crooner, Yemi Alade expressed her thoughts regarding the age of the new chief of staff, suggesting that President Buhari could have opted for someone who is younger.

    Alade said only God would save Nigeria given its proclivity for electing and appointing people who are advanced in age into strategic offices.

    “75 years old as chief of Staff. God save Nigeria,” she wrote on Twitter.

    Award winning singer, Yemi Alade, has revealed that she has been feeding some people, including her security staff, for the last two months.

    The talented artiste made this known on Twitter on Monday in response to a fan who encouraged her to assist the government in providing relief materials to the .less-privileged who are on lockdown over the coronavirus pandemic.

    It all began when the ‘Johnny’ singer demanded that the government explain how the funds donated to tackle the coronavirus pandemic have been utilised.

    The social media user then recommended that Yemi and her colleagues do more to help the government.

    She replied, “I have been feeding people for the last 2 months…Down to my security staff… And I can go on and on. We are all that we have, we need all the help we can get. We are doing our part.”

    Nigerian dancehall crooner, Patrick Okorie better known as Patoranking has urged his colleagues and other celebrities to take their ‘giveaway’ gestures off the social media platforms and reach-out directly to impoverished Nigerians.

    The versatile singer made the call in a tweet he shared on Wednesday, adding that the needy who do not have social media accounts were the most disadvantaged people amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

    He wrote: “Instead make we artist come together and contribute money to support people, Those once wey no Dey online Oo.

    “Wey understand wetin giveaway mean (people for slums and ghetto) wey Dey disadvantaged due to this Covid-19 Lockdown, una Dey here Dey talk about this Vs This, Wise up.”

    ‘Giveaway’, is now trendy term on social media, depicting a humanitarian stimulus package to cushion the economic effect of the COVID-19 lockdown on ordinary citizens.

    Many Nigerian celebrities are now sending ‘giveaways’ in form of money or data to fans so that they can stock up their homes with foodstuffs as they observe the stay- at -home order.

    In the past few days, some celebrities who have been involved in the social media ‘giveaways’ spree included Peruzzi, Toyin Abraham, Yemi Alade, Don Jazzy, Runtown and DJ Kaywise, among others.

    Award-winning, Afro-pop singer, Yemi Alade has slammed the Lagos state government over the content and quality of relief materials shared to the people of the state.

    Following the lockdown order by the Federal Government in order to contain the spread of coronavirus, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu gave out relief materials to the citizens of the state.

    However, Yemi Alade speaking via her official Twitter handle queried why a family of six would be given 3 loaves of bread.

    The Woman of Steel singer added that politicians should remember they can’t take all the funds they loot to heaven.

    “Relief Package 3 loaves of bread for 6 families. The government should make sure they can take their money to heaven, because this is so disappointing.”
