She said: ”Personally speaking, I have heard Tiwa Savage, I heard her a couple of weeks ago and she shouts. But she (Yemi Alade) sitting right here, I can hear her range . I am just stating the fact this gets me in trouble all the time. She is here giving me goose bumps and I heard someone just a couple of weeks ago. Your range is quiet exceptional”.

  • When I remove make-ups, push-up bras I don’t look beautiful – Tiwa Savage

Mavin queen, Tiwa Savage, has revealed that she only looks beautiful by the help of make-ups and push-up bras.

The music star said that in spite of the glitz and glamour she displays on social media, she sometimes feels depressed by low self-esteem.

Tiwa stated that sometimes she is intimidated by the glamour on social media.

“I get a lot of messages from young girls who are depressed with low self-esteem because they don’t feel pretty like the social media girls they see every day and my heart breaks because I feel like that too sometimes.

“We are all in this together, I’m not perfect, and not the prettiest, sexiest, richest but I’ll remain kind and seek after God’s heart because none of the others matters to Him.

“Ultimately God’s approval is all we need”, she said.

She added that contrary to public belief, she hardly sees herself as a pretty woman.

“Some people are born beautiful, flawless skin, long curly hair, fair skin but some of us grew up looking at the world’s definition of beauty and found ourselves not fitting into that standard but with the help of makeup, filters and push up bras we feel a little closer.

“What happens when you take all that off and you stare at yourself in the mirror, do you still think you are beautiful?

“You should because you are and when we meet our creator face to face it’s those with the kindest hearts that will stand as most beautiful.

“So while we work on the outside make sure we work on our hearts.”

With equally talented crooners like Yemi Alade, Simi, Seyi Shay, Niniola, Teni the entertainer desirous of winning the supremacy battle, Tiwa Savage sure had a reason to pull the necessary strings needed to create the perfect music recipe guaranteed to maintain her stay on the throne.

    THE TIWA SAVAGE TOUR

One of the high-points of 2018 for the Ikeja born singer who later relocated to London, was the success of her 2018 London concert held at the 3,000 capacity Indigo 02 Arena. The success recorded on that day Friday, August 24th is a testament to her work ethic and dedication.

    MR LOVA LOVA’

Tiwa Savage’s collaboration with Duncan Mighty is undoubtedly one of the biggest songs of 2018. ‘Lova Lova’ was released in September 2018 and as at the time of filing this report, the song has 7.7m views on YouTube.

An excited Savage calls it the biggest song of her career

”It was just one of those usual studio sessions, I worked with Ceeza and Spellz on it and instantly I knew it was a beautiful record…

Actually we have had this record since January, it was right after I dropped Vibe and it seemed like the next song to drop.

Duncan Mighty and myself, we’ve spoken for a long time about working together and so he was in Lagos and I invited him out to the studio, played him a couple of records and that one in particular and he was like, I love this record, and literally in 10, 15 minutes, he wrote his verse.”

TIWA SAVAGE’S MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS

Indeed 2018 can be described as Tiwa Savage’s most explosive year in music. The Berkeley College of Music graduate became the first Nigerian female artiste to win the MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs) in the Best African Act category.A feat she treasures deeply.

    TIWA’S FRUSTATIONS

A Yoruba proverb says that a pot that must enjoy the pepper on its inside has to withstand the heat of the fire. Tiwa’s gold hasn’t been without some ruffles.

On Sunday August 26th 2018, the singer expressed her travails and pains via her Insta stories. In her message, the acclaimed singer revealed that she feels like giving up.

    “It’s a sin to be a woman in Africa. #FeelLikeGivingUp #TiredOfFighting #TiredOf ProvingMyself #TiredOfSmiling,” she wrote.

    THE YEMI ALADE FACTOR

The supremacy tussle between Tiwa Savage and the equally gifted Yemi Alade has been a subject of debate in Nigerian music gatherings.

The cold war was ignited sometime in June 2018, when Alade rated herself equal to Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Davido, Olamide and other A’list music acts ruling the Nigerian music scene during a radio interview.

Reacting over the perceived supremacy tussle, Tiwa said in an interview:”There is no bad vibe actually, everytime we see each other, it’s just the mutual respect that we have for each other.Definitely, I am here for a reason, I think I have worked hard enough… I take every criticism the right way… I definitely don’t think she [Misi] meant it a bad way,” she concluded.

    WIZKID’S ‘FEVER’

When telling the story of Tiwa Savage’s strides in 2018, it is impossible to ignore the role her ‘bestie’ Wizkid played.

Back in October 2018, Wizkid released the video for his song ‘Fever’. Amazingly, Tiwa played the role of his love interest in the visuals that currently has 7.9million views on YouTube. The video was the timely PR point Tiwa needed to seal her reign in the Nigerian music landscape.

In her Vogue Magazine interview, Beyonce said:” I don’t like too much structure. I like to be free. I’m not alive unless I am creating something. I’m not happy if I’m not creating, if I’m not dreaming, if I’m not creating a dream and making it into something real. I’m not happy if I’m not improving, evolving, moving forward, inspiring, teaching, and learning”.

We hope ‘Doro Tiwa’ takes a cue from one of her musical inspirations and keeps reinventing her brand.

  • Gist: Yemi Alade’s mother gets drunk, fights in beer parlour

A Facebook user, identified as Ikem Okuhu, has through his Facebook page narrated his experience of how he saw Yemi Alade’s mum, Helen Uzoma at a beer parlour causing commotion.
According to him, the commotion started when the proud mother of the singer told the disc jockey (DJ) to play her daughter’s song and the DJ responded that he had none of Yemi’s songs.
It is said that Helen is a regular at the bar and causes trouble at the bar on a regular basis and it doesn’t seem new to anyone, so no one intervenes when she starts her bitter rantings.
    The post reads;
“Yemi Alade, if what I am witnessing here is anything to go by, then you have a lot to do about this woman they said is your mother. Na wa o!”
    “Still on Yemi Alade
“So I walked into this pub in this city for a bottle or two and then have the chance to watch the Tottenham/Man City match in that environment where we men love to watch ball games.
“Tame “toosh” joint o! And as soon as the alluring aroma of Jollof Rice wafted through the pervasive smell and smoke from the suya Mallam nearby, I remembered I was also hungry and ordered for a plate.
“Just one scoop and the screaming started. Because it was a lady’s voice bursting her lungs in head-breaking English, I lifted myself off my seat for a better view.
“Light-complexioned, quite busty even for a woman of her age and garbed in blue gown, she screamed and banged the bar table, threatening the bottles, the beers and the glasses protecting the “holy” contents.
“Look! You don’t know me! I say you don’t know me at all!!! I am a barrack girl o! I am a barrack girl!!! My madness no get cure if I start to dey crase o!”
“I just cannot remember all. And she went on for more than an hour. Sad thing was no one bothered to respond to her. No one, except an unfortunate bartender that tried to explain whatever was the reason for the tiff.
“And then the fight started. She immediately pounced on him, forcing him to retreat behind a door.
“I had to ask the lady attending to me who she was and to my shock, she informed me this screaming woman was the mother of Yemi Alade, the “Johnny” crooner.
“Not seen such irresponsibility in a long time. All the people on her table had to keep quiet, then depart one by one.
“I got told she’s a regular at that pub” He wrote.

  • Supremacy battle: Yemi Alade releases ‘Crazy love’ to knock off Tiwa-Wizkid’s ‘Fever’ video

Supremacy battle: Yemi Alade releases ‘Crazy love’ to knock off Tiwa-Wizkid’s ‘Fever’ video

The supremacy battle between power house music divas, Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade has gotten messier than expected.
Earlier in the week, Nigerian pop star, Wizkid broke the internet with the release of an official music video for his new song titled ‘Fever’. In the video, he featured Tiwa Savage who came in as a vixen and plays the role of Wizkid’s love interest.

Immediately the video spread like wild-fire and amassed 1m views in less than 24 hours of its release.
Yemi Alade thought it wise to capitalize on the opportunity, using it as a leverage to release the video of her collaboration with sexy singer, Flavour titled ‘Crazy love’.

Just like ‘Fever’, ‘Crazy love’ has a similar theme with Yemi crying out in the visuals over the love she has for Flavour. From lustful stares, romantic dance moves and baring of cleavage, Yemi’s motive was to take the attention of Tiwa and Wizkid.

TheNewsGuru’s investigations revealed that Yemi Alade released ‘Crazy love’ a day after Wizkid release his ‘Fever’ video featuring Tiwa Savage as his love interest.
The cold war between these divas may be getting messier as Yemi recently rated herself equal to Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Davido, Olamide and other A’list music acts ruling the Nigerian music scene.

Yemi’s strategy is obviously to recreate the magic she and Flavour produced in their 2016 collaboration ‘Kom Kom’ which has 6.8 views on YouTube as at the time of this report.
The music business is a game of perception , numbers and relevance. The more eyeballs you are able to garner, the better for your music video. Only time will tell If the supremacy battle between Tiwa and Yemi Alade will linger.

  • I probably get three to four hours sleep in a day-Tiwa Savage

Tiwa Savage, Mavin artiste who has been touted as the most successful female artiste in Nigeria at the moment, has said she gets three to four hours sleep in a day.

The singer whose new song with Duncan Mighty ‘Lova lova’ is currently getting airplay, has said she works hard a lot and people around her know it.

Speaking in a chat with Soundcity FM, she said:” I work a lot, I work hard and people around me know. I am not even exaggerating. I probably get three to four hours at most of sleep in a day.

“I’m in the studio. Even if I’m not recording I am sleeping in the studio just absorbing sound and just being around that environment. I am also very discerning. I watch people, I watch their strategies. Not that I would copy what this person is doing but I’ll be so inspired (and) that will make me do it in my way.”

When asked to comment about her perceived rift with Yemi Alade, she said: “There is no bad vibe between us. Every time we see each other, it’s just a mutual respect we have for each other and that’s not being trying to be political about it”.

Savage was further questioned about the dominance of male artistes in the African music space, she said: “There are a lot of female artistes and they are not getting airplay and they get their videos played on TV

“I don’t think that’s the fault or the female artiste’s management. I think, especially in Nigeria, or in Africa, we are just accustomed to male artistes. We’re accustomed to their sound, their brand, their lifestyle, everything. We’re accustomed to them being stars and that just needs to change. But I think a lot of females are doing it”.

    Again! Wizkid kisses Tiwa Savage

  • Fan blasts Yemi Alade, says she is ‘Getting old’

Social media has given fans of entertainers the opportunity to relate with them on a closer level which they sometimes take for granted. A certain fan of Yemi Alade, took to the comment section of her page to condemn her saying she is getting old.

“You are getting old, don’t you think you should start planning your family enjoyment. Start a family and be a role model to other celebrities. I never mean to be rude it is just my little advice “, he wrote.

How I was maltreated by an air hostess- Yemi Alade

Johnny Crooner, Yemi Alade has narrated how she was maltreated by an air hostess during a flight to United Kingdom.

The talented singer alleged that she suffered racial discrimination from an air hostess but refused to share details of the airline in her Instagram post on Thursday, July 26, 2018.

She narrated her frustration saying she was maltreated because of the colour of her skin.

The 29-year-old shared a video where she narrated her disappointment at how she was treated because of the way she looked.

Sporting an Arsenal jersey in the video , she said:” One of the hostesses basically grab my legs and shook it to wake me up and I was dazed at the behaviour because I was in a deep sleep.

“Have you ever been poorly treated by an air hostess? Racial discrimination is a No No! Treat people with respect! It shouldn’t be sizing people up so you can address them according to your mental estimate. It’s inhumane”.

Alade recently sparked controversy when she claimed that there is no number one artiste :”What I have done with this kind of career that puts you in the limelight and keeps you vulnerable to everybody’s opinion, is I just have to make sure my opinion is paramount, it is number one.

“I respect everybody, we all inspire each other in this industry… there is actually no number one because your top five artistes in Nigeria that are the biggest in Africa can shut down the exact same capacity, the same capacity Wizkid holds down in Africa, I hold it down, the same capacity Davido holds down in Africa, I hold it down, the same venues, we all shut it down.

So there is no number one, and that is the truth but not everybody will agree to that, people will say Yemi shut up but that is the truth.. why don’t we go ask the promoters, the people who know the numbers?” she said.
