  • If Nigeria can’t be changed through Tinubu, we are gone, says Yuguda

If Nigeria can’t be changed through Tinubu, we are gone, says Yuguda

The former governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda has called on Nigerians to give Bola Tinubu a chance to change the country, saying that “if we cannot change Nigeria through Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I’m sorry we are gone”.

Yuguda who is the chairman, board of trustees of APC professional Forum, during a press conference on state of the of the nation Wednesday, said that Tinubu did no wrong by reminding Nigerians that ‘fuel subsidy is gone’ in his May 29 speech.

He noted that, Fuel subsidy removal should have been removed during the former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan but there were elements that fought the decision.

“Ordinarily,  this fuel subsidy would have been removed since the time of Jonathan, since 2013 or even earlier than that. So, it is not something that we would continue with because people are afraid talking.

” Me sometimes, I’m not afraid of talking, I tell the truth, I speak my mind and that is the reality of the situation we have on ground today.
If we keep on dodging issues that affect the lives of our nation because people want to make money or people are in power or somebody is too rich that he has the paramilitary group that can come and kill you is not the issue.

“This is  purely the will to take a decision, to implement a very hard decision. Where interest are involved, I mean people are  sharing money and this money we don’t know who are sharing it.

” This issue of fuel subsidy is beyond Nigeria. I spent three months to investigate that parfectly and by the time it blew up; Nigeria were alarmed. So, I don’t even want to remember what is going on.

“Infact there is one of my friends who is in the oil industry, he told me at a point he went to tell the president; Mr president we are  tired of making money please remove this subsidy. We are tired of making money from fuel subsidy.

Let us belong to this country, let’s see this country as our own and only place we can be proud of. You will not be proud of your country, only when you get out of Nigeria.

Speaking on public service he said,
“There is no public service today; Between me and you. Every person is a contractor in his office. We know it and nobody is talking. Everybody is talking on how to make money.

“I’m calling on Nigerians to give a chance for change. If we cannot change Nigeria through Bola Ahmed Tinubu I’m sorry we are gone,” he said

“The exercise is not a witch-hunt. It is not meant to settle old scores either. It is meant to recover our misappropriated commonwealth and reset the button, so that integrity, probity and accountability will henceforth remain the guiding principles as well as article of faith in the conduct of government business”

  • APC is full of crocodiles, sharks, Shehu Sani warns Yuguda

The senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has warned a former Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda, to beware of his erstwhile party, the All Progressives Congress, noting that the party is “full of crocodiles and sharks.”

Shehu Sani was elected to the Senate on the platform of APC in 2015, but he left the party for Peoples Redemption Party after he lost at the primaries in September.

Sani’s warning to Yuguda came on the heels of the latter’s defection to the APC from the Green Party of Nigeria.

In an interview published on Saturday in Daily Trust online and tweeted by Sani on his verified Twitter handle @ShehuSani, Yuguda adduced reasons for joining the APC: “The time had come to make the move. It was God’s time, which is always the best.

“The decision to move was made together with my followers. We decided to leave GPN because it is a small party, even though it has a very good chairman, Dr. Sam Eke.

“GPN only existed in Bauchi State, so we did not see ourselves making any serious impact countrywide.

“We did not want to mortgage our political future in a small party. So, we decided to move to a bigger platform where we can contribute towards producing a good leader for the country.

“Going to APC is also appropriate because its leader, President Muhammadu Buhari has a number of programmes in place that, when implemented, will move the country forward.”

However, Yuguda and Sani have something in common: complaints against their erstwhile respective parties — GPN and APC.

Just as Sani left APC sequel to losing to Uba Sani, a Special Adviser to Governor Nasir el-Rufa’i of Kaduna State, Yuguda left the GPN for APC after he contested the Bauchi South senatorial bye-election on GPN’s platform but lost, saying that at least 120,000 of votes cast for him were cancelled.

Sani therefore took to his Twitter handle, warning Yuguda, whom he addressed simply as Bro Y, that:

Dear Bro Y,You May be Micheal Phelps, but just know that there are no Dolphins and Penguins in that pond but Crocs and Sharks. pic.twitter.com/eGyyrcV4If
