    Yul Edochie condemns number of illiterate actors, actresses in Nollywood

    Nigerian actor, Yul Edochie has condemned the rate at which illiterate actors and actresses find their way into the Nigerian movie industry.

     

    The actor wrote on Instagram that everyone now wants to be an actor or actress, even those who cannot speak English.

     

    He wrote:

    EVERYBODY WAN BE ACTOR AND ACTRESS.
    ALL THE DUMMIES AROUND WANT TO BE ACTORS AND ACTRESSES.
    NOLLYWOOD HAS TURNED TO DUMPING GROUND FOR BLOCK HEADS.
    EVEN PEOPLE THAT CAN’T SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH HAVE BECOME ACTORS AND ACTRESSES UNLIKE BEFORE.
    NOLLYWOOD DON SUFFER.
    SOMEHOW EVERYTHING DIES IN THIS COUNTRY.
    WHY??

     

    Meanwhile, Nigerian singer, Chioma ‘Omapitch’ Igbojekwe, has opened up about why her marriage ended instantaneously.

     

    In an interesting chat with Actor, Yul Edochie, Omapitch disclosed that her marriage terminated 24 hours after they were married in Holy Matrimony.

     

    Chioma Igbojekwe stated that her ex-hubby proposed to her precisely three years ago and she agreed, believing him to be “God sent” due to his position as a music director.

     

    She alleged, however, that her ex-hubby informed her 24 hours after their wedding that it was ended.

     

    According to her, she later realized he is gay and had been married to a guy in the United Kingdom for years.

     

    Omapitch claimed that her ex shared her photograph to his purported gay lover for approval before marrying her.

     

    Yul Edochie who has also been engulfed in a marriage controversy took to his official Facebook page and shared an excerpt from the interview.

     

    The actor hails from Anambra state and the son of Nigerian prominent actor, Pete Edochie.

     

    He attended the University of Port Harcourt, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts.

     

    Yul Edochie Joined Nollywood in 2005 in his first film titled The Exquires alongside Justus Esiri and Enebeli Elebuwa.

     

    He got his break in 2007 after featuring alongside Genevieve Nnaji and Desmond Elliot in the movie Wind Of Glory.

     

    In 2015, Yul Edochie opened a film academy in Lagos.

    Nigerian actor Yul Edochie has blasted singer BNXN, for reacting the way he did during an open confrontation with the police.

    BNXN had posted that he reacted by spitting into the faces of some policemen during an argument in Lagos.

    In his reaction on social media, Yul  Edochie said lack of humility is what brings about such an embarrassment.

    Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has criticised those mocking the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu over his health status.

    In a recent tweet, the actor emphasized that old age is a blessing to mankind.

    According to Yul, old age is a blessing and sickness can happen to anybody, stressing that some of those making mockery of Tinubu may not be lucky to see old age.

    He wrote, “Old age is a blessing. And sickness can happen to any one whether young or old. Making a mockery of Tinubu’s health or age is wrong.

    “It’s ok if he’s not your candidate, but making jest of him cos of his age or health is absolutely wrong. You may not be lucky to see old age”.

    The first wife to Yul Edoochie. May Edochie has revealed how depressed she was after her husband publicly took a second wife.

    Recall that Edochie caused controversy online after he embraced polygamy, announcing the birth of his son with his second wife.

    Speaking on Facebook live, May disclosed that her decision to dwell on pieces of her once happy marriage and support from family and friends saved her from being depressed.

    She said: “I saw some comments saying I’m using my situation to cash out but I don’t wish this upon my enemies if at all I have any.

    “Depression is real and there are different stages, for me rather than dwell in depression I decided to pick up pieces of a beautiful world I had that suddenly shattered.

    “I decided to pick up the pieces and try to move on than dwell in depression. It has not been easy but I’m glad I am able to go out and do stuff.

    “All the things I’m able to do is because of the love from my family and you guys. These things have kept me going.”

    Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, got social media buzzing when he shared a video of his family’s visit to his dad, Pete Edochie’s home.

     

    Yul broke the internet on 27th April 2022, after sharing photos of his new baby, Star Dike Edochie, with his side chick, Judy Austin, turned second wife.

     

    However, following the criticism that trailed Yul’s 2nd marriage, Veteran Actor Pete Edochie has remained silent on the matter.

     

    Just recently, Yul and his 1-year-old son paid a visit to his father’s house and the movie star could not help but share the adorable moment on his Facebook page.

     

    In the video, a very cute grandfather-child moment was captured as Pete Edochie held his grandson. Yul was also heard in the background communicating with his dad.

     

    Captioning the video, he wrote; “Star Dike meets his grandfather Chief Pete Edochie, Ebubedike”.

    Yul Edochie’s decision to take a second wife seems not to have resonated with his family, especially his father, the veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie,

     

    The actor (Yul) had taken to his Instagram page to welcome a son from Judy, calling her his second wife.

     

    Reacting to the news, his father, Pete banished his son’s second wife from entering his household.

     

    The ace actor made it clear that he does not support his son’s action and that as an Igbo man, who doubles as a statesman, he only recognises his son’s first wife, May.

    He said: “I want the whole world and Nigerians to understand that as an Igbo man, I never support my son’s actions and as a statesman, I only Recognized his first wife as the only authenticated wife of my son, the rest is banished from entering my household.”

     

    Pete Edochie, also said taking a second wife is an open invitation to anarchy, as he bore his mind that Yul had the second wife and son without his blessing.

     

    He also said that his youngest child, Yul has been independent-minded right from when he was a child and never really listened to him.

     

    “I’m not shocked that he has a son without my knowledge. A child that doesn’t listen to his father ends up cutting his or her life span short” Pete added.

     

     

     

  • Actor Yul Edochie advises Tonto Dikeh on political ambition

    Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has responded  to the emergence of Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, as the deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State.

    Recall that the Dikeh was confirmed the deputy governorship candidate of ADC in Rivers state by Tonte Ibraye, on Friday in Rivers state.

    Tonte Ibraye the ADC governorship flagbearer for next year’s general election made the announcement via his instagram page.

    His  statement reads in part: “After a series of consultations with leaders of our party the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State and the national level, I’m glad to announce Amb. Tonto Dikeh ‘Tonto let ’ as my running mate for the 2023 gubernatorial election in Rivers State.”

    However in his reaction, Edochie in a post on his Instagram page, stated that running for political office is one of the best things that a person can ever do in life.

    Continuing, he said that no matter the outcome of the election, she should understand that she had kicked off a life-changing journey in her life.

    He wrote: “Congratulations to my friend and colleague, Tonto Dikeh, on your nomination as deputy governorship candidate of your party.

    “Running for office is one of the best things one can ever do in life. It will make you understand clearly how Nigeria truly works.

    “There is never a loss in it. It is either you win or you learn and come back stronger. Whatever happens just know that you have kicked off a life changing journey. Best of luck.”

    Daughter of popular Nollywood actor, Danielle Yul-Edochie, has lashed out at her father’s fans’ who  frequently associated her with her father’s many controversy.

     

    The 18-year-old multifarious creator took to her Instagram story to call out her father’s fan who were in the the habit of tagging her on every post related to him.

     

    According to Danielle, she has no passion for Nollywood, nor does she have an interest in following the footstep of Yul Edochie.

    The actor is from Anambra state Nigeria, the son of Nigerian actor Pete Edochie.

     

    He was raised both in Lagos and Enugu and the last of six children.

     

    Edochie got married at the age of 22.

    This declaration was made in anticipation of a not too young to run bill passed by the senate of the federal government of Nigeria.

     

    The declaration was however made official on the 22 of August 2017, when he picked up the nomination form of the political party Democratic Peoples Congress and was eventually the flag bearer and gubernatorial candidate of the party to run for governor of Anambra State.

    Edochie made this known on his Instagram page on Thursday and likened himself to King David in the Bible, adding that many great men in the Bible had more than one wife.

    “God works in mysterious ways. Marrying a 2nd wife has brought me blessings and also elevated my two lovely wives.

    “Sometimes it takes the things we see as disappointments to happen for elevation to come. I’m a man after God’s heart. I’m like King David in the bible.

    “I wronged my wife May from the way I went about it, and I have apologized to her sincerely from the bottom of my heart, but in the eyes of God things are different. God blesses differently.

    “Many great men in the bible had one wife, many great men in the same bible also had more than one wife.

    “My wife May just signed her first endorsement deal. Something that never happened all these years. And this came from what many saw as a disappointment. Many more deals will still come to her cos she’s a wonderful person.

    “So is my wife Judy. She has also been elevated. Now widely known, her career is bigger, with a whole lot going for her as well.
