  • Yusuf Buhari discharged from Cedarcrest Hospital

    President Muhammadu Buhari’s only son, Yusuf, has been discharged from the Cedarcrest Hospital in Abuja, where he has been on admission since he was involved in a bike accident.

    This was confirmed by the president’s Special Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad.

    “Yusuf Buhari has been discharged from Cedarcrest Hospitals, Abuja. Wish him a complete and speedy recovery,” he tweeted on Friday afternoon, alongside a statement from the hospital.

  • Bike Accident: President Buhari’s Son, Yusuf, ready to be discharged – Presidency

    President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf Buhari, who was admitted into Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja, following injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident, is ready to be discharged.

    According to a statement issued by Mr Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, in Abuja on Friday, the Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Felix Ogedegbe, confirmed the “cheery news.’’

    Adesina quoted Ogedegbe as saying that Yusuf Buhari underwent successful emergency surgical operations carried out by a team of neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons.

    A statement issued by Ogedegbe read: “Mr Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari, son of His Excellency President Buhari, was admitted into Cedarcrest Hospitals Abuja in the late hours of the Dec. 26, 2017, following injuries sustained as a rider of a motorcycle.

    “Following initial stabilization, he was taken into intensive care. He underwent successful emergency surgical operations the following morning carried out by our team of neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons.

    “Over the following week, his condition improved remarkably and he was transferred from intensive care to the ward.

    “He has remained stable ever since and has continued to make remarkable progress. He is now ready to be discharged.

    “His extremely speedy response to treatment so far is testimony to the world-class early care he has received here in Cedarcrest, Abuja.

    “We are grateful to His Excellency, President Buhari and Her Excellency the First Lady Mrs. Aisha Buhari for the confidence in us and for allowing us to look after Yusuf.

    “This show of confidence goes a long way to strengthen our collective belief in our resolve to offer world-class health care locally.

    Ogedegbe also lauded the efforts of the two ministers of health, hospital team for their dedication and hard work during the operations.

    He added: “We are extremely grateful to our entire hospital team for their dedication and hard work during this period.

    “We are also grateful to the Minister of Health, the Minister of State for Health, and the eminent advisory team of specialists assembled by the Honorable Minister of Health who supported us in the course of looking after Yusuf.

    “We are grateful to all Nigerians who prayed for Yusuf, his family and his carers. His response to treatment so far is clear testimony to answered prayers.

    “We did note some very misleading reports about this incident making the rounds in some social media outlets. Most of them would not ordinarily need to be responded to.

    “Suffice to say that there was only one person involved in this incident. No one else required treatment for this incident or its aftermath. Yusuf’s friend was not involved in the accident and did not sustain any injuries whatsoever.

    “Her Excellency was not at any time treated for shock and she was not admitted into Cedarcrest at any time.

    “In addition, Cedarcrest Hospitals has remained open to other in-patients and out-patients and at no time were any patients denied access to the hospital.’’

     

  • Power bike accident: Pray for Yusuf Buhari’s speedy recovery, Aregbesola urges Nigerians

    Governor Rauf Aregbesola has called on Nigerians to pray for the speedy recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf.

    Mr. Aregbesola made the call while speaking at the closing of 19th edition of the Annual National Conference of the Jama’atu Ta’awunil Muslimeen (Society of Nigeria) on Wednesday in Iwo

    According to the governor, the comfort of the president is the comfort of all.

    Mr. Aregbesola described prayer as the only instrument that could rescue Nigeria from some of its predicaments.

    He called on religious leaders to intensify prayers for president Buhari, his sick son as well as for the socioeconomic prosperity of the country.

    According to him, apart from prayer being a powerful part of our existence as human beings, it is pertinent for every believer to pray for his or her leaders.

    I am happy that every religion emphasises this, and it is something important we can do to support the present administration by praying and fasting for our leaders.

    As we all know the condition of the President’s son, I urge Nigerians regardless of our socio-economic, political and ethnic differences to pray for the speedy recovery of Yusuf Buhari who is presently receiving medical attention’’.

    Yusuf had a bike accident at the Gwarimpa Area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in December 2017.

    The accident left him with a broken limb and an injury on his head.

    Earlier, Imran Molasan, the Founder and President of Jama’atu Ta’awunil Muslimeen Society of Nigeria, ‎commended Mr. Aregbesola for laying a strong foundation for the economic development of the state.

    Mr. Molasan applauded Mr. Aregbesola’s high sense of commitment to human and capital development, particularly the impact his government had made toward re-engineering the economy of the state.

    In his remarks, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Abdulrasheed Akanbi, described Mr. Aregbesola as a rare political gem for repositioning Osun.

  • Yusuf: Ajimobi urges prayers for first family

    Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has urged Nigerians to continue to remember the First Family in their prayers for the quick recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf.

    A statement by the governor’s Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy, Mr. Yomi Layinka, quoted the governor as describing the unfortunate incident as depressing.

    Ajimobi hopes that “The abiding grace of God that allowed the ebullient young man to survive the crash will see to his quick and complete recovery. It is indeed heartwarming to hear that he is in a stable condition now and responding well to treatment.

    On behalf of the government and people of Oyo State, I pray that Yusuf will soon be back on his feet. The incident is a temporary setback and one of the vicissitudes of life. He will come out of it stronger and will live long to fulfill his destiny.

    In the African culture of being our brother’s keepers, I urge Nigerians to continue to remember the first family in their prayers and thoughts in this difficult period.”

     

  • Omokri releases Prayer nuggets, as Buhari’s aides gather to pray for Yusuf

    Former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has released “What God Looks For in Prayers” even as President Muhammadu Buhari’s aides today gathered in Abuja to offer special prayers for the quick recovery of the president’s son.

    TheNewsGuru reports President Buhari son, Yusuf Buhari was involved in a bike accident on Tuesday night in Abuja.

    The prompted a prayer session, which was held immediately after the afternoon (Zuhr) prayer, that was led by the Chief Imam of Aso Rock Mosque, Sheikh Abdulwahid Suleiman, who prayed almighty God to continue to guide and protect the first family and all Nigerians.

    He also prayed for peace, tranquillity and progress to reign supreme in the country.

    “If prosperity came by prayers, Africa will be the richest continent and Europe will be the poorest,” Omokri stated in a prayer nugget he published on Medium.

    TheNewsGuru recalls that presidential spokesman Malam Garba Shehu, who also attended the prayer session for Yusuf, had on Wednesday in a statement confirmed that the president’s son, who was involved in a bike accident, was in stable condition.

    He said Yusuf had the accident on Tuesday night around Gwarimpa area in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

    Shehu said Buhari junior broke a limb and also sustained an injury on the head as a result of the incident.

    “He has undergone surgery at a clinic in Abuja. He is in a stable condition.

    “The President and his wife, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, are thankful to Nigerians for the good wishes and prayers for their son,” he said.

    Among those at the prayer session were the President’s Aide-De-Camp (ADC), Col. Lawal Abubakar; the president’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity; the president’s Chief Personal Security Officer, DCP Abdulkarim Dauda, as well other presidential aides and staff of the villa.

     

  • Just in: Buhari’s only son, Yusuf suffers head injury, broke his limbs after bike accident

    Son of President Muhammadu Buhari, Yusuf, was on Tuesday night involved in bike accident in Abuja. He was said to have sustained head injury and had one of his limbs broken.

    The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, confirmed the accident in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday .

    Shehu said Yusuf had undergone a successful surgery and was in a stable condition.

    The statement read, “Yusuf Buhari had a bike accident last night around Gwarimpa in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

    “He broke a limb and had an injury to the head as a result. He has undergone surgery at a clinic in Abuja. He is in a stable condition.

    “The President and his wife, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, are thankful to Nigerians for the good wishes and prayers for their son.

    “May God reward you all.”
