    Zack Orji, the renowned Nigerian actor, has come under heavy criticism after videos surfaced on social media showing him sharing plantain chips for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

    TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports the actor, alongside other celebrities and some important persons, recently stormed the streets of Mararaba, Abuja, to campaign for President Bola Tinubu.

    In the video that flooded social media, the actor alongside Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Tinubu, is seen distributing food items, including Plantain chips, as they urged the public to trust in the President Tinubu-led administration.

    However, what caught the attention of many was the photo of Orji distributing food items, including chips, to the public.

    The controversial scene left tongues wagging in the Nigerian movie space as many condemned the actor for sharing a food item as mere as plaintain chips amid biting hunger and hardship

    One user wrote: “I’m highly disappointed in most of these celebrities who are supposed to be our voices but they’re being used as a tool by the government. They’ve lost our respect big time!”

    Another user wrote: “Very shameful of them. Apart from zack oji, what is the other guy name as shown in the picture?”

    One user wrote: “Zack is an example of from grace to grass.”

    A movie scene affected my marriage, got suspended in church – Zack Orji narrates

    Veteran Nollywood actor, Zack Orji, has revealed that his involvement in a nude scene with actress Eucharia Anunobi in hit film, Glamour Girls affected his marriage.

    Orji made this known in a candid conversation with Emmanuel Ehumadu, the host of the ‘Nollywood Hardcore: The Legend’s Untold Story’ podcast.

    Explaining how the scene created issues with his wife: “Even though she’s an actress, but they were putting a lot of things on her mind,” he said.

    Orji also said that his pastor contacted him, citing numerous troubling reports regarding the issue, and subsequently suspended him.

    “My pastor invited me. Then I was a member of the Board of Trustees of the church. He said that he had been receiving too many calls from members from other members of the Board of Trustees. ‘How can Zach go and do this kind of thing? it is scandalous’

    “He said he called me because he wanted to suspend me but he wanted to inform me first of all before suspending so eventually I was suspended for a month.

    “He said he was not going to tell anybody that it was just between us but that I was suspended from doing any church activities at the time.

    However, what was intended to be a private matter unexpectedly made its way into the public sphere, as the news of his suspension was leaked to the media.

    He said while he was on another set for a movie, a journalist called him on the matter.

    “He came to the set where I was filming and said, ‘I just want to confirm from you before going to press. Is it true that you’ve been suspended by your church?’

    “I said ‘Who told you that?’ He said ‘I’m sorry. I can’t reveal the source of my information.’

    “I was so angry because the pastor told me it was confidential. I went back and told the pastor what had happened. I asked him how a reporter got to know about this. He was just looking at me he couldn’t say anything.”

    Orji disclosed that the incident led him to leave the church, requesting that his name be removed from the Board of Trustees and all related documents.

    He said although the pastor later reached out, stating that they had retracted the suspension and didn’t want him to leave, Orji stated that his decision was final, and he had made up his mind to move on.

    Nollywood veteran actor Zack Orji has debunked social media rumours claiming that he is from Gabon.

    The renowned actor, who took to his Instagram page – @realzackorji – to express his frustration, said the falsehood was not the first about him.

    “I am a full-blooded Nigerian, hail from Enugu the coal city State, and proud  of my Nigerian heritage.

    “God should deal with those people that originated the lies.

    “Not long ago, they said I was dead; by God’s grace and mercy, it turned out to be a lie from the pit of hell.

    “Now, another lie from the pit of hell has emerged, this time they said that I am from Gabon. That I am not a Nigerian.

    “I hereby issue a disclaimer dissociating myself from that lie. I am a full-blooded Nigerian.

    “Both my parents are Nigerians; I am from Enugu State, the coal city State. I am proudly Nigerian and equally proud of my Nigerian heritage.

    “God Almighty will deal with whoever originated that lie. He will deal with the liar as He deems fit,” he wrote.

    Veteran Nigerian actor, Zack Orji, has said he’s not from Nigeria.

    According to him, he is not a full Nigerian because he’s actually from Gabon.

    He claimed that he was born there.

    In a recent podcast interview, the actor, well-known for his fierce performances in the Nigerian movie industry shared this aspect of his life which is not known by many.

    According to Zack Orji, born Zubby Michael, he was born in Gabon due to his father’s frequent travels for work.

    Sharing insight into his ancestry, he revealed that his father gave him the middle name Amaefuna, which means “Let my heritage not be lost.”

    During the interview for the podcast, Zack Orjil described his recent trip back to Gabon as a turning point in his efforts to be in touch with his heritage.

    This circumstance brought him back to his origin country, where he not only researched his family history but also shot a movie there.

    Nollywood actor, Zack Orji, has described as a ‘lie from the pit of hell’ rumours of his death while he was on his sick bed.

    Orji in an interview with Channels Television said that after the rumours broke out, he began receiving calls from different concerned fellows who wanted to confirm if it was true.

    He said, “About a week ago or more than that, I don’t know who originated that lie, I call it a lie from the pit of hell that well; not myself, they had passed away, and then I saw it and I started receiving all kind of calls even calls from people I haven’t heard from for years, most of them were just concerned, they wanted to find out if it was true and all of that,” the actor said.

    Orji however said he does not want to waste his time accousting anybody for spreading such news as he has more important things to do with his life and time.

    “I can only say that sometimes, social media has made people be so reckless and callous to the point of spreading fake news just to grow their page. I believe that’s what that person did. And it happened at the time when we lost some of our colleagues, the latest one being Amaechi Munagor ….. But thank God that our lives are not with men, our lives are with God, it is God that is the keeper and strength of our lives. Thank God that it is not my time yet. I don’t want to waste my time accousting anybody for that lie. I just let it go because I have more important things to do with my life and time. ”

    The actor who is granting the first interview about his health also recounted some of the dark moments he experienced before the surgery that eventually saved his life.

    Rollas released a statement on Saturday thanking President Tinubu for his fatherly attention to the creative industry, and also commended the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, for her motherly care towards the veteran actor and Seyi Tinubu, the President’s son, for his unwavering support.

    The Minister for Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, was also lauded for her efforts in ensuring Orji’s quick recovery.

    The AGN President stated that Orji was grateful to his longtime friend, Ahmed Bala, for standing by him throughout the period.

    “We have witnessed the unprecedented support that President Tinubu is giving to the creative industry,” he said.

    “This has clearly shown his clear determination to uplift the sector to be more relevant and beneficial to both the practitioners and the national economy and we find it necessary to appreciate him.

    How Zack Orji survived two brain surgeries – Actors Guild

    The Actors Guild of Nigeria, (AGN) has revealed that went under the knife twice for a brain surgery, emphasizing that the two surgeries were successful.

    Emeka Rollas the national President of AGN who made the revelation known added that the actor is in very good condition.

    Rollas said that Zack needed to be flown abroad for a post-surgery evaluation, expressing his disappointment at those who spread false information about Zack’s death.

    “Because of the internet age, people just want to grow their page and they can spill nonsense, that was why somebody woke up yesterday morning and said Zack has passed on and I quickly reacted.

    “Zack is never in a position of seriously needing attention as we speak, if not because of privacy I would have just connected him on the phone here, you will see him.

    “He just needs a post-surgery evaluation abroad which we are gradually gathering money to send him abroad for that.

    “He has survived two brain surgeries, he is in good health, and he is speaking. For somebody to wake up and say that Zack has passed on, is inhuman,” he said.

    It would be recalled  that on Thursday, rumours broke out that the actor had died but Emeka Rollas swiftly debunked the claims.

    Zack Orji had slumped on December 31, 2023, and was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit of the National Hospital in Abuja, before he was transferred to a private hospital for surgery.

    He’s alive, he had neuro surgery – Minister reveals outcome of visit to Zack Orji in hospital

    Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, on Tuesday visited ailing Nollywood actor, Zack Orji, at a private hospital in Abuja, where he had a brain surgery.

    The minister was received by the wife of the ailing thespian, Ngozi Orji, and some family members .

    According to the minister, the visit was to support the veteran  actor, wish him quick recovery and as well convey the Federal Government’s goodwill to him and his family .

    “This is a man that has given his time, his effort not only to make us laugh but to entertain Nigerians for decades.

    “He is one of the individuals that was the very foundation of the film industry in Nigeria, and unfortunately, he is having health challenges and had a Neuro surgery.

    “The least that we can do as an administration is to give him all the  necessary support to ensure that he recovers quickly.

    “Neuro surgery is very delicate, so it was important for me not only as a minister of arts, culture and the creative economy but as a Nigerian to visit him.

    “For me, it was just a matter of coming to see him and his wife, and we are able to talk today, by God’s mercies, he is alive.

    “I want Nigerians to pray for him and do what we can to give the family the necessary support to save his life,” she said.

    Musawa explained that the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government understands the pivotal role of the creative industries to national economic growth and was committed to the welfare of stakeholders in the sector.

    According to her, “the ministry of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, under my watch, is working painstakingly towards ensuring that programmes and policies are in place towards the welfare of industry players.

    Musawa, who made a personal donation of an undisclosed amount to support the medical bills of the ailing actor, assured that better days were ahead for Nigerian creatives.

    “One of the main initiatives that we have within our ministry is to give welfare, not only to veterans in the industry, but to see how we can give welfare to all members of the industry.

    “We understand that the issue of mental health is key in determining the quality of life of members of the society, especially members in this particular industry.

    “One of our initiatives in the ministry is  to ensure that we look at and interrogate the different policies in terms of the kind of welfare that we give them and we will be able to run that very soon.

    “I can assure you that members of the entertainment industry and of course, members of the arts, culture and creative economy will have full support from this particular administration .

    “It is part of the renewed hope agenda of Mr. President to ensure that we give the best and achieve the best in terms of what the industry has to offer,” she said.

    Zack Orji, 64, reportedly slumped at the new year eve and was admitted at the  Intensive Care Unit of the National Hospital in Abuja, before he was transferred to a private hospital for the surgery.

    Popular Actor Zack Orji reportedly in critical condition in the ICU of the National Hospital in Abuja.

    According to monitored reports Orji can’t walk or talk, and all kinds of tests are being run on him to ascertain what is wrong.

    He was rushed to the hospital two days ago after he slumped into the toilet after being quite weak for a few weeks.
