Real Madrid’s striker, Karim Benzema, on Wednesday showed PSG an exit from the Champions League, following his sensational second-half hat-trick.
Benzema has fired Real Madrid into the Champions League quarter-finals, as the match ended with Real Madrid 3 PSG 1 (Agg 3-2).
Things had looked bleak for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, when Kylian Mbappe scored to give them a 2-0 aggregate deficit.
But a rousing second-half fightback saw them come back to dump PSG out.
Mbappe had fired Madrid a warning sign when he finished at Thibaut Courtois’ near post, only for an offside in the build-up to thwart the effort.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side wouldn’t heed the warning, however, conceding in similar circumstances just moments later.
The French forward raced onto Neymar’s pass before again dispatching past Courtois at his near post to give PSG a 39th minute lead on the night.
Mbappe was denied another early on in the second-half by the offside flag, having sat Courtois down with a brilliant piece of skill.
Gianluigi Donnarumma then endured a nightmare moment in the 62nd minute, dawdling on the ball before his miscued clearance gifted the ball to Vinicius Jr, who teed up Karim Benzema to score.
