President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated the newly retired service chiefs as non-career ambassadors.
Recall the former service chiefs only retired and were replaced with fresh hands by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

But the President Buhari has forwarded their names to the Senate as non-career ambassadors for confirmation.
The President urged the Senate to give expeditious consideration to the nominations.

The list includes Gen Abayomi Olonisakin (Rtd ), Lt Gen Tukur Buratai (Rtd), Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (Rtd) and Air Vice Marshal Mohammed S Usman (Rtd).
