Nollywood veteran actress and human rights activist, Kate Henshaw, has joined Nigerians on Twitter to declare a resilient woman, Efidi Bina Jennifer, as the true hero of Saturday’s presidential and senatorial election.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) recalls that Jennifer, a Nigerian woman, was stabbed by political miscreants at her polling unit in the Surulere area of Lagos State.
Jennifer had stepped out to exercise her voting rights against all odds at a local government in Surulere, during Saturday’s election, but was assaulted for insisting to cast her vote for her preferred choice and not candidates of the miscreants.
In a video that went viral on social media, the miscreants in Surulere frantically warned the electorates unwilling to support their presidential candidate to exit the polling unit.
This is happening right now at Fehintola Giwa Street Aguda, Surulere, Lagos state. They are asking people who won’t vote APC should go home.

However, courageous Jennifer insisted that she must cast her vote for her preferred candidate, against all odds.
“They can only disfigure my face, they can’t stop me from voting,” she said.
There were videos of her face being stitched after the attacks and pictures of her returning to exercise her vote.
Reacting to the development, the actress (Henshaw) said:”The structure of violence is all they have!! This lady was attacked, she went and got first aid and still came back to vote. That is how you shame the oppressor. I need to find her. Help me Twitter people.”
Egemba Chukwunonso tweeted: “This woman is my hero for today’s election, she still went ahead to vote despite being attacked and brutalized. This is the Nigerian spirit.”
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) gathered that there is currently a donation going on for Jennifer’s hospital bills.
Violent attacks by thugs were reported in several polling units across the nation, with stolen ballot boxes, shooting at voters and burning of election materials.
