Barely 24Hours after the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu banned the personnel of the FSARS and other tactical squads of the force from routine patrols, some defiant SARS operatives who refused to comply with the IGP’s directive met their waterloo after invading Computer Village in the Ikeja area of Lagos for a routine operation.
As seen in the video, the gun-wielding SARS operatives were verbally attacked by the irate crowd – they called them (SARS officers) thieves and dared them to shoot.

A terse statement issued by Force Headquarters in Abuja yesterday stated that other tactical squads affected by the ban include the Special Tactical Squad (STS), Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Anti-Cultism Squad and other tactical squads operating at the federal, zonal and command levels were banned from carrying out routine patrols and other conventional low-risk duties notably stop and search duties, checkpoints, mounting of roadblocks, traffic checks among others.
The statement signed by Force PRO and Deputy Commisioner of Police, (DCP), Frank Mba, said the ban takes immediate effect.
