The Vice President of the United States of America, Kamala Harris, has said that Nigeria remains a symbol of democracy in Africa.
She stated this when she played host to her Nigerian counterpart, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who led a delegation to the White House to discuss Nigeria’s Energy Transition Plan on Friday.
In a statement released by her office on Saturday, Harris was quoted as saying, “Nigeria has also been an important partner in upholding the international rules-based order, whether it is tackling the democratic backsliding that we’ve been seeing in West Africa or standing up for Ukraine at the United Nations.
